Wilson and Mary Elston of Lowman, NY celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on October 9, 2003. Mr. Wilson (Bill) Elston and the former Mary L. Bridgeman were married October 9, 1938 by the Rev. Anderson at Breesport Parsonage in Breesport, NY. The couple has three children. They are Wilson Elston Jr., of Waverly, NY; Frances Amey of Elmira, NY; and Susan Elston of Elmira. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Elston is retired from the Town of Elmira Highway Department in Elmira. Mrs. Elston is a Homemaker. Both are retired from farming on their former farm on Watercure Hill Rd.

ELSTON, Mary L., age 90, of Federal Rd., Lowman, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at Elcor Health Services. Survived by son, Wilson (Greta) Elston, Jr., Chemung; daughters, Frances Amey, Elmira, Susan Elston, Millerton, PA; grandchildren, Doug and Rich Elston, Mike and Matt Davis, DJ and Darren Amey; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by husband of 70 years, Wilson in 2009; "Brother" and best friend, Herschel Rhode. Mary was a former employee of the Remington Rand and Eclipse and a self-employed Dairy farmer. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, February 4th at the Kalec Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service there Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Anne Mowery, Officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survived by wife of 70 years, Mary; son, Wilson (Greta) Elston, Jr., Chemung; daughters, Frances Amey, Elmira, Susan Elston, Millerton, PA; grandchildren, Doug and Rich Elston, Mike and Matt Davis, DJ and Darren Amey; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins; predeceased by 10 sisters and brothers, Ebben, Sam, John, Fred, Frank, Agnes Little, Jennie Gunderman, Edie Gaughan, Ruth Isaccs and Margaret Austin. Bill was retired from the Town of Elmira Highway Department, a former employee of the Railroad and a self-employed dairy farmer. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, April 5th, at the Kalec Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. His funeral service there Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Anne Mowery officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
