The couple has 5 children: Patricia Callahan, the late Robert Stanko, Barbara Hughes, Eva Stanko & Anna Byers; 9 grandkids & 3 great-grandkids. Mr. Stanko retired from the Town of Orange & Mrs. Stanko is a Homemaker.

Frank Stanko, age 81, of Locus Lane, Watkins Glen, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at Seneca View Nursing Facility, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born in Melbourne, West Virginia on January 11, 1925. The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, with funeral services to follow at 12 noon, and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery with Military Honors. He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Anna; son, Bobby; grandson, Troy Travis; brothers, John, Mike and Stanley Stanko; sisters, Mary Dewey and Lizzie Groves; brothers-in-law, Jim and Ray Dewey, Clayton and Joe Groves, and Ted Smith; sisters-in-law, Joan and Judy Stanko, Alice VanAlstine, and Charlotte Ameigh. He is survived by his daughters, Patty Callahan of Horseheads, Barbara (Jim) Hughes of Elmira, Eva Stanko and Anna Byers of Watkins Glen; grandchildren, Jen (Scott) Callahan-Fitzpatrick, Sarah (Dan) Yontz, Matt Pyhtila, Audrey (Jeremy) Edmister; sisters, Frances Dewy and Stella Andrews; sisters-in-law, Rose Stanko, June Smith, Marion (Bill) Brewer, Virginia (Jim) Bowers, Carolyn Sutfin, and Lesa McClellan; brother-in-law, Sonny Ameigh; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army in Europe. His loves were his family, his friends and the farm. He was proud of his Polish heritage. Thank you to his special friend, Mary.
