Robert C. Sr. & Marjorie King of Moreland, NY celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. Bob & the former Marge Crane were married 9/1June 38 by Rev. Henry Sears at the Schuyler County Fair. The couple have 2 children: Nancy (Charles) Cole & Robert (Mary) C. King Jr; 5 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. Mr. King retired from Thatcher Glass in Elmira, NY & Mrs. King is a Homemaker.

Robert King's obituary:

Robert C., Sr. Age 87, of RD, Montour Falls, NY. Mr. King was a retired moldmaker from Thatcher Glass Co. with 33 years of service. He was also a veteran of WW II, serving with the USMC. He was a noted and renowned fisherman. Mr. King was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Bessie Marshall King; and a brother, Paul King. Mr. King is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie (Crane) King; sister, Colleen Abreu of Dundee, NY; daughter, Nancy (Charles) Cole; and a son, Robert (Mary) King Jr., all of Watkins Glen, NY; grandchildren, Lisa (Bob) Hanley of Watkins Glen, NY; Amy (David) Brill of Manchester, NY; Andy (Kristine) Cole of Beaver Falls, PA; Rob (Melissa) Cole and Stephen Cole, both of Watkins Glen, NY; great-grandchildren, Sam Hanley, Travis and Tanner Brill, Paige, Silas and Morgan Cole. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY, on Saturday, March 26, 2005, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with funeral and committal service to follow. The Rev. Anne Campbell will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family request that donations in Mr. King's name be made to the Moreland Presbyterian Church, C/O Candy Meehan, 97 Kimble Hill Road, Beaver Dams, NY 14812.
