William J. and Mary T. Norton of Elmira, NY marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Center on July 20, 2003 hosted by the children and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Paciorek. Mr. William J. Norton and the former Mary T. Pearson were married May 9, 1953 by the Rev. Frederick W. Bush at St. Patrick's Church in Elmira. The couple has eight children. They are Robert E. (Michelle) Norton of Elmira; Kathleen (J. Robert) Leach of Fairfax, VT; William M. (Susan) Norton of Lowman, NY; Jule (William R. Norton) of Elmira; Patricia (Lawrence) Coughlin of Wellsburg, NY; Bonnie (Daniel) Flynn of Corning, NY; Pierce (Anita) Norton of Orlando, FL; and Carol (Victor) Finch of Ottawa, KS. There are 28 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Norton is retired from the Department of Corrections in Elmira. Mrs. Norton is a Homemaker.
