Miss Martha Montgomery Moore and Mr. Scott Jacob Farrell were united in marriage on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at eight o'clock in the evening in a ceremony at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin, Texas. The Reverend G. David Fikes officated and was assisted by Reverend James L. Mayfield of Tarrytown United Methodist Church of Austin. The music for the ceremony was provided by the quintet of Pinnacle Brass and organist Eric Mellenbruch. The soloists were Timothy Charles Curry and Carolyn Montgomery Howard, aunt of the bride. A black tie reception followed the ceremony at The Driskill. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Alan Townes Moore of Austin. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Herbert Roscoe Howard, Jr., for whom she is named, and the late Dr. Herbert R. Howard of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Doris Dowdell Moore and Dr. Stephen Halcuit Moore, Jr., also of Dallas. Martha is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin and received a B.A. in English from Princeton University where she was on the Women's Volleyball Team, a member of Pi Beta Phi and Cottage Club. She is employed by Corporate Ann Taylor in New York City. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph William Farrell of Beaver Dams, N.Y. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eugene Awrich of Boynton Beach, FL and Mrs. Jacob Louis Farrell and the late Mr. Jacob L. Farrell of Bradford, PA. Scott was valedictorian of Corning East High School in Corning, N.Y. and earned a B.S.E. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at Princeton University where he was Captain of the NCAA Championship Men's Lacrosse Team. He is a fixed income analyst in New York City. Martha was given in marriage by her father, Alan Townes Moore. The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier gown trimmed with a champagne sash, and she carried garden roses with gardenias, as did her attendants. Her maid of honor was her sister, Elizabeth Reagan Moore, and her bridesmaids included her cousin, Martha Elizabeth Denham of Las Vegas, NV, the groom's sister, Lori Michelle Farrell of Beaver Dams, N.Y., Claire Ellen Oswalt of Los Angeles, CA, Meredith Lyle Gentry of Bend, OR, and Megan Susanna Bouchier and Alexis Wadsworth Collins, both of Pacific Palisades, CA. Members of the house party included Lauren Hawley Norelli and Jennifer Joy Sodaski, both of New York City, Sarah Lorian Petery of Newport Beach, CA, and Beth Ann Weynand of Houston, Texas. Scott's best man was his brother, Jason William Farrell of New York City. The groomsmen were Douglas Kyle Baugher, Mark Alexander Pellegrino, William James Prager, all of New York City, Matthew Edward Trevenen of Montclair, N.J., Daniel Robert Clark of Philadelphia, PA, Kevin Patrick Robinson of Orlando, FL, and Cadet Corporal Bradley Alan Moore, West Point, N.Y., brother of the bride. The ushers were Gregory Brereton Golaszewski of Lynbrook, N.Y., Brendan Matthew Tierney of Princeton, N.J. and Matthew Scott Raymond of Decatur, GA. Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell will reside in New York City.
