They have 4 children; Becky Jones and Skip of Franklin, Texas, Denise McPherren of Gatesville, Texas, David Ackerman and Lisa of Jacksonville, FL, and Jeff Ackerman and Ann of Manchester, MD. They also have 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. Ackerman is retired from the U.S. Army and Mrs. Ackerman is a homemaker.
Obituary of Dale Ackerman:
Dale Charles Ackerman, 79, of Franklin passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Wellsburg, New York to Charles Herman Ackerman and Helen Borgeson Ackerman. He received his education at Southside High School in Elmira, New York.
He married Helen Isabel Burt on November 24, 1954. Mr. Ackerman served in the United States Army from 1954 until his retirement in 1979. He served during the Vietnam War and many other places around the world.
He had been a resident of Franklin for the past 2 months previously living in Bryan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Joann Zobel; Brother, Donald Ackerman; grandson, Danny Jones and son-in-law, James E. Wonders.
He is survived by:

Becky and Skip Jones of Franklin and
Denise McPherren of Copperas Cove

David and Lisa Ackerman of Jacksonville, Florida and

8 Grandchildren – Charles V. Jones, James Wonders McPherren, Amanda Cimmino, Sam D. Ackerman, Robert Ackerman, Kelly Ackerman, Justin Ackerman and Kevin Ackerman
5 Great Grandchildren – Brooklyn Jones, Jaelyn Jones, Cody Jones, Kimberly Cimmino and David Cimmino
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Franklin. Mitch Harper will officiate.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Legion Post 266, Franklin, Texas or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
