Through 50 years of LOVE and FRIENDSHIP, Don and Shelva Mattison celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by their children, family and friends. The celebration took place on June 4th, 2005 at Angies Inn, in Pine City. Don and Shelva have 6 children; Debra (Albert) Newcomer, Elmira, Donalee Mattison, Horseheads, Gayle (Michael) Taylor, Elmira, Janet (Kenneth) Mattews, Locke, NY, Diane (Ronald) Sempler, Horseheads and Donald III (DonnaJo) Mattison, Horseheads. They also have 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Don and Selva are both retired and reside in Horseheads. WE LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD AND WE WISH YOU MANY MORE LOVING YEARS TOGETHER, Love your children.

Obituary of Donald Mattison:
MATTISON JR., Donald L., Age 81, of Elmira Heights NY, began his new journey surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Donald was born on December 14, 1932 in Elmira NY. He is survived by loving wife Shelva Jean (Brown) of 59 years. Don adored his family of five daughters and one son. Daughters, Debra (Albert) Newcomer Pine City, Donna Mattison Elmira Heights, Gayle Taylor of Horseheads, Janet Mathews Moravia, NY and Diane (Ron) Sempler of Horseheads, Son, Donald L. (DonnaJo) Mattison III also of Horseheads; twelve grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Brother, Jack Mattison of Watkins Glen NY; Sisters, Zoie Covert of Springfield, KY and Sandra Brown of Newfield, NY. Don was predeceased by his parents Donald L. Mattison and Iona M. Mattison of Elmira NY, Brothers Maurice (Mouse) Mattison, Waverly, NY, and Gary (Butch) Mattison, Elmira, NY. Don worked for Joe Chairvolotti Trucking, Waverly NY, for 27 years, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He also worked for Coldiron Fuel for 7 years, where he then retired at the age of 66. Don was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were NY Yankees and NY Giants, even when they lost! He loved watching his grandchildren play sports, was a Mall Walker with his loving wife, loved playing cards and even more, spending time with his family. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 from 5-7:00 pm. His service will follow there at 7:00 pm. Burial at the convenience of his family.
