BLAINE McCLURE Jr., 86, died at 6:32 p.m. Feb. 17, 2004, at Cridersville Health Care Center.
He was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Tiffin to Blaine Charles and Myrtle Nellie Bartlebaugh McClure, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 3, 1945, he married
Iris V. Holton, who survives.
Mr. McClure retired as an electrician from Tilton Corp. He was a 65-year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 32, Lima American Legion Post 96, Spencerville Acadia Lodge 306 Free & Accepted Masons, Maracco Shrine of Jacksonville, Fla., and Crescent City Shrine Club of Crescent City, Fla. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving as a paratrooper.
Survivors also include three sons, Blaine David McClure and Jerry A. (Teddi) McClure, both of Lima, and Michael S. McClure of Harrod; two daughters, Carolyn (Gary) Seibert of Cincinnati and Becky (Rodney) Keller of Elida; and 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marian McBride, Florence Guttner and Margaret "Peggy" Daniel.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor Bobby Green will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Lima, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

IRENE PUTMAN, 97, of Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Van Wert, died at 5:05 a.m. Feb. 17, 2004, at Care Center Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton, Fla.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul W. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Van Wert.

DONALD E. ROWAN, 81, died at 11:25 a.m. Feb. 14, 2004, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday in Woodland cemetery, Xenia.

RICHARD "DICK" SCHINDLER, 86, died at 1:50 p.m. Feb. 17, 2004, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
He was born Dec. 27, 1917, in Columbus Grove to Ralph D. and Mary Kerner Schindler, who preceded him in death. On May 28, 1938, he married
Ethel Virginia Miller, who died March 19, 2001.
Mr. Schindler had been an industrial painter for most of his life. He and his wife founded and managed Dick's Painting Co. He had also worked as a fireman for the Pennsylvania Railroad and as a truck driver for National Transit and E&L Transport out of Michigan. He was a member of First Missionary Church and Union Missionary Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, Good Sams and the Senior Citizens. He was an avid horseshoe pitcher and bowler. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Richard E. (Mary Ann) Schindler, Larry D. Schindler and Gregory D. Schindler, all of Lima; three daughters, Nora M. Swallow of Lima, Betty J. (Robert) Jones of Carey and Cheryl L. (Robert) Sanchez of Findlay; 10 grandchildren, Gary, Eddie, Bill, Kim, Mark, Steve, Jeffry, Angel, Robert and Danielle; 15 great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, Josh, Matthew, Kyle, Victoria, Alexandria, Taylor, Drew, Emily, Grace, Ashley, Brett, Kaylee and Mariah; and nine great-great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Sidney, Joseph, Paige, Samantha, Michael, Ethan, Malachi and Joslynn.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Willard, Loy, Alva, Andy, his twin Robert, Tim and Tom Schindler; and seven sisters, Estelle Wertzburger, Mae Daniels, Mable Basil, Clara Glasco, Gladys Jones, Velma Hahn and Mertle Schindler.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Mark Bayliff will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

RANDALL G. "RANDY" BROWN, 46, of North Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Lima, died April 13, 2004, at his residence.
He was born May 28, 1957, in Lima to Ronald F. and June D. Brown. His father preceded him in death. His mother and stepfather, June D. and Robert S. Dalrymple, survive in Las Vegas.
Mr. Brown was a sprinkler fitter for Fire Protection. He was a member of Nevada Sprinkler Fitters Local 669. He was a 1976 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He had lived in Las Vegas for 25 years.
Survivors also include three sons, Andrew Brown, Franklin Brown and Brock Brown, all of Las Vegas; a sister, Vickie (Brady) Briem of Beavercreek; two brothers, Ronald A. (Laurie) Brown of Lima and Brian D. Brown of Las Vegas; a stepbrother, Eric Dalrymple of Spencerville; and a stepsister, Denise (John) Klima of Troy.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary-Downtown, Las Vegas.
A private viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

FONTABELL EDDY, 92, died April 12, 2004, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
She was born March 6, 1912, in Union County to William and Anna Moody Shoemaker, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 10, 1930, in Delaware County, Ohio, she married
Everett R. Eddy, who died in 1972.
Mrs. Eddy was a homemaker. She was a member of Pharisburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna L. Smith of Waynesfield; and two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters and a granddaughter.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. today at Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood. Pastor Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery.

ALVA A. "JACK" GREER, 77, died at 6:19 p.m. April 13, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born May 11, 1926, in Lima to Alva B. and Daisy Rundio Greer, who preceded him in death. On June 19, 1954, he married
Ellen R. "Nell" Brookman, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Greer retired in 1988 from the U.S. Postal Service in Lima, where he had worked since 1959, and had been a guard at the Lima Tank Depot from 1952 to 1959. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 317 and the U.S. Constabulary Association. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8832, Roundhead, Disabled American Veterans Post 126, Waynesfield, and American Legion Post 63, Ottawa. He was an Army veteran serving in Korea as tank commander of the U.S. Constabulary and had served with the 101st Airborne, 1st Battalion, in Fritzlar and Fulda, Germany. He had a 39- year civil service career.
Survivors also include a daughter, Suzanne (Greg) Rhinock of Lima; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jo Rhinock, Derek J. Rhinock and Erik J. Rhinock; three great-grandchildren, Audree Thomas and twins, Ashton Stocklin and Aimee Stocklin; a brother, George T. (Colleen) Hight of Bluffton; and a sister, Nora May DeWitt of Lima.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Lima. Interment will be in the old mausoleum in Gethsemani cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.

VERNA KEIFER, 90, died at 12:30 a.m. April 14, 2004, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Allen County to Charles and Emma Steiner Keifer, who preceded her in death.
Miss Keifer had been a secretary at Ghaster Sign Co., Lima. She had also worked in offices at Gregg's Department Store, Lima, and Triplett Corp., Bluffton. She was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton, and attended Lima Mennonite Church. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School, Bliss Business College, Columbus, and Grace Bible Institute, Omaha, Neb.
Survivors include a brother, Edwin (Dorothy) Keifer of Pandora; a sister, Pearl Cupp of Columbus Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Keifer; and a sister, Lillian Keefer. this spelling is correct.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton. The Revs. Charles Warren and David Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite cemetery, Bluffton.
