Lima
PHILIP LaRUE of Redway, Calif., formerly of Lima, died April 12, 2004, in Redway.
He was born in Lima to George and Leona Kinkle LaRue. His father survives in Ocala, Fla. His wife, Joanne LaRue, survives in Redway.
Survivors also include three sons, Anthony LaRue, Nicklas LaRue and Lucas LaRue, all at home; a brother, Gary LaRue of Ocala, Fla.; and a sister, Karen Moyer of Newark.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis LaRue, who died March 9, 2004.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Pierce Mortuary was in charge of cremation.
Elida
HOWARD LEIS, 94, died at 7:55 a.m. April 14, 2004, at VanCrest Health Care Center.
He was born April 22, 1909, in Amanda Township's Southworth area to Jesse Moore Leis and Cora May Miller, who preceded him in death. On May 27, 1930, he married
Opal Marie Baker, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Leis had been a teacher at Jennings Township Country School, Van Wert, for three years; was at Elida local schools from 1931 to 1968, where he was a teacher, coached baseball and basketball, was a principal and athletic director and served as superintendent during World War II; and taught at Fort Wayne, Ind., community school from 1968 to 1975. He was a real estate broker from 1975 to 1990 and worked at Superior Coach and the Lima Army Tank Plant during the summers from 1931 to 1968.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a life member of the national and Ohio education associations. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He had served on the Elida Board of Public Affairs. He was a 1927 graduate of Spencerville High School, a 1937 graduate of Ohio Northern University and a 1947 graduate of Indiana University.
Survivors include a son, Don (Phyllis) Leis of Elida; two grandsons, Brad (Ginny) Leis and Mike (Cindy) Leis; a granddaughter, Jeni Leis; and nine great-grandchildren, Amanda, Trevor, Andrew, Maggie, Emily, Sydney, Katie, Jon and Will Leis; and two nephews, Scott Leis and Lynn (Linda) Miller.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Elida.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencerville Museum.
Van Wert
HAROLD A. MOHR, 66, died at 7:20 a.m. April 14, 2004, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Doug Stockton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Van Wert.

MAUDIE A. RAVER, 77, of Huntington, Ind., formerly of Delphos, died at 12:58 p.m. April 13, 2004, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Huntington Chapel, Huntington, Ind. The Rev. Melvin Lamphiear will officiate. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Ind.

CHARLES H. "HOBE" ADKINS, 70, died at 3:21 a.m. Aug. 18, 2004, at his residence.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge cemetery, Middle Point, with military rites by American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803.

PATRICIA ANNE BURNS, 77, died at 1 p.m. Aug. 18, 2004, at her residence.
She was born April 4, 1927, in Youngstown to Philip and Doris Porter Wood, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 27, 1947, she married
A. Chester Burns, who died Oct. 26, 1983.
Mrs. Burns retired as a pharmacist from Wiechart Pharmacy, Lima, and had worked at Peper Drugs, Ada. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Lima. She was a member of the Ohio Pharmaceutical Association, the Northwestern Ohio Pharmaceutical Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381 Auxiliary, Ada, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 Auxiliary, Lima. She was a 1949 graduate of Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy.
Survivors include a son, Michael Burns of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Bonnie (Michael) Merchant of Tempe, Ariz., and Becky (Gary) Reed of Bluffton; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Pembroke.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. The Rev. Wayne Albertson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Ada.

MARY R. EDMISTON, 89, died at 4:56 p.m. Aug. 17, 2004, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Van Wert to John and Mary Kingery Hickle, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 22, 1968, she married
Carl Dewalt Edmiston, who died Oct. 15, 1985.
Mrs. Edmiston had been a nurses aid at Lima Convalescent Home, where she had also been a volunteer. She was a member of County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod, and its Ladies Fellowship. She had been a member of the Lima Senior Citizens and the Sweet Adelines.
Survivors include a stepson, Larry (Gloria) Edmiston of Columbus Grove; three stepdaughters, Carol Winkle of Lima, Arlene (Robert) Wilson of Uniopolis and Phyllis (Charles) Allinger of West Chester; a stepson-in-law, Kenneth (Gloria) Kline of Lima; and 17 stepgrandchildren and 27 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Janet Kline; a sister, Martha Wollet; two half sisters, Clara Kolby and Easter Eutsler; and a stepsister, Lucille Subier.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod. Pastors Thomas Dearth and David Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in King cemetery, Middle Point.
