Bluffton
RUTHANNE K. SCHWAGER, 80, died at 6:50 a.m. Jan. 2, 2003, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born April 11, 1922, in Youngstown to Martin and Margaret Smith Kling, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 6, 1943, she married
George J. Schwager, who died Dec. 13, 1995.
Mrs. Schwager was a library aide for more than 10 years for the Mahoning County Library System. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Bluffton, where she served on the rectory board, and was a very active member within St. Paul Catholic Church, New Middletown. She was a member of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, Bluffton College's Institute for Learning and Retirement and the Bluffton Quilting Club. She was a 10-year volunteer at Hospice of the Valley, Youngstown. Following her retirement from the library, she enjoyed playing cards, gardening and quilting clubs. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren. In 1998, she moved to Bluffton from her lifelong home in Youngstown.
Survivors include four sons, Mark (Debbie) Schwager of Harrisburg, Pa., Fred (Marie Boltz) Schwager of Elkins Park, Pa., Terry Schwager of Wales, Pa., and Peter (Janis) Schwager of Bluffton; three daughters, Margaret Anne Schwager of London, Sue Schwager of Philadelphia and Lynn (Will) Schwager-Miles of Morris Plains, N.J.; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Martin and James Kling.
Memorial Mass will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bluffton. The Rev. Norbert Howe will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Youngstown.
Friends may call following services Saturday at the church.

Van Wert
KATHRYN MOHR JOSEPH, 53, died at 6:20 a.m. Jan. 1, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Feb. 13, 1949, in Van Wert to John E. Mohr and Dores Turner Hart. Her mother survives in Van Wert. On March 29, 1969, she married
Larry R. Joseph, who survives.
Mrs. Joseph owned and operated Ohio Foam Novelties of Lima. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Van Wert, and its Altar Guild. She was a member of Wassenberg Art Center and the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce. She had been a member of Twigs and the Van Wert Women's Club. She had been a 4-H adviser for several years.
Survivors also include a son, Nathan (Deirdre) Joseph of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; a daughter, Abigail (Rodney) Price of Van Wert; two brothers, Tom Mohr of Utah and Jim (Rhonda) Mohr of Van Wert; four sisters, Linda Buchheit of Philadelphia, Jeanne (Tim) Crafton of Phoenix, Chris Welker of Venedocia and Suzi (Jim) McCracken of Washington Court House; and three grandchildren, Tobin, Samuel and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mohr.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Joe Wilck will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Van Wert.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert.

Delphos
NANNETTE E. NAGEL, 65, died at 12:54 p.m. Jan. 1, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Delphos to Harvey and Martha Bell Moffett Himmeger, who preceded him in death. On July 24, 1954, she married
Eugene M. Nagel Sr., who died March 25, 1997.
Mrs. Nagel was a homemaker and had worked at Jim's Restaurant for several years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include four sons, Rick (Michelle) Nagel of Byron, Ill., Dan "Mike" (Kelly) Nagel of Shawnee, Jim (Ann) Nagel of Delphos and Eugene (Nicole) Nagel Jr. of Van Wert; four daughters, Diana Frobase of Florida, Mary (Jerry) Looser and Lisha Garza, both of Delphos, and Nancy Jo (Steve) Gordon of Convoy; a brother, Harvey Lowell Himmeger of Arizona; a sister, Nancy Fedele of Delphos; and 23 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Diana L. Himmeger.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. The Rev. Thomas Gorman will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m.

Leipsic
DONALD J. PECKINPAUGH, 62, of Napoleon, formerly of Leipsic, died the evening of Dec. 31, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee.
He was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Leipsic to William Chester and Florence Nesbit Peckinpaugh, who preceded him in death. He was raised by his aunt, Velma Nutter, who also preceded him in death. On May 25, 1983, he married
Janice Holder, who survives in Napoleon.
Mr. Peckinpaugh was a truck driver for LACE Transportation, Wauseon, for the last 10 years. He was a member of Free Christian Church of God, Continental. He was a member of Grand Rapids Sportsman's Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2562, Maumee, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2094, Defiance.
Survivors also include two sons, Ronald Peckinpaugh of Luckey and E. Jay Peckinpaugh of McClure; three daughters, Lisa Boes of Bluffton, Rhonda Rosebrock of Raleigh, N.C., and Sondra Garbers of Delta; three stepdaughters, Tonya Dunn of Bowling Green, Holly Morris of McComb and Kristie Stollsteimer of Defiance; a brother, Robert Peckinpaugh of Leipsic; and 10 grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles W. and G.E. "Ed" Peckinpaugh; a sister, Louise Arnold; and his stepmother, Irene Peckinpaugh.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon. The Rev. James J. Fry will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge cemetery, Leipsic.

EDWIN N. RICE, 86, of Medina, formerly of Bluffton, died Dec. 31, 2002, at Western Reserve Masonic Community, Medina.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Waite & Sons Funeral Homes, Medina. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday in Evangelical Mennonite cemetery, Bluffton.

Lafayette
MARGARET H. "PEGGY" ROBINSON, 81, died at 7:40 a.m. Jan. 2, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Springfield, Mass., to John T. and Isabella Lauder Roberton, who preceded her in death. On June 19, 1942, she married
N. Hugh Robinson, who survives.
Mrs. Robinson retired in 1963 as a cafeteria cook from Lafayette-Jackson High School, after 10 years. She had also worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lafayette, where she served as its secretary for 20 years, chaired the renovation of the church nave, was chairwoman of the 1977 building committee, co-chaired its Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee and was a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She was a member of Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years, and the Allen County Republican Party. She was an avid golfer.
Survivors also include a daughter, Joyce (William) Wartinbee of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer (Burke) Carroll of Atlanta and Jim (Denise) Wartinbee of Chicago.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lafayette. The Rev. Larry Troyer will officiate. Burial will be in Lafayette cemetery.
