ALBERTA THOMPSON, 89, died at 4:10 a.m. Feb. 11, 2004, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Bluffton.
She was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Bluffton to Elmer and Mary Bucher Luginbuhl, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 14, 1938, she married
Joseph Thompson, who died July 28, 1993.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Maynard, Francis, Harley and Quinton Luginbuhl.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. The Rev. Roger Ford will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

LUEGENNIE WILKERSON, 80, died at 6 a.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

Lima
ALGENE WILSON, 52, died at 3 p.m. Feb. 10, 2004, at her residence.
She was born March 28, 1951, in Lexington, Miss., to Luther and Clara Davis Wade Jr., who survive in Lima.
Mrs. Wilson retired from the housekeeping department at Chicago University Hospital.
Survivors also include a brother, Robert L. (Patricia) Wade of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Wade.
Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Columbus Grove
EDWARD J. HALKER, 83, died at 5:55 p.m. April 7, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Columbus Grove to Leo and Frances Nartker Halker, who preceded him in death. His wife of more that 50 years, Mary Ann Moening Halker, survives.
Mr. Halker retired from Teledyne Steel, Lima. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. He was a life member of American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove. He was a member of the Columbus Grove Knights of Columbus and the Putnam County Historical Society. He was a lifetime fan of the Columbus Grove Bulldogs, The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. He was an 8th Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving in England. He was an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include three sons, John (Janet) Halker of Columbus Grove, Joseph (Janene) Halker of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Pete (April) Halker of Columbus Grove; seven daughters, Brenda (James) McElwain of Kalida, Margaret Sautter of Columbus Grove, Nancy (Richard) Balbaugh and Susan (Tim) Goedde, both of Lima, Jennifer (Jim Fortman) Wood and Beth (Dave) Schroeder, both of Columbus Grove, and Melinda (Alan) Kaufman of Glandorf; four brothers, Harold (Viv) Halker, James (Daisy) Halker, Ray (Esther) Halker and Richard Halker, all of Columbus Grove; a sister, Mary (Bud) Fischer of Columbus Grove; a sister-in-law, Mary Halker of Huntsville; and 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Sonny and Rolland Halker; and two sisters, Dolores Hermiller and Rosie Miller.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Ron Warnimont will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 516.

Lima
DOLORES JEAN "DEE" HICKEY, 72, of Columbus, formerly of Lima, died April 8, 2004, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Lima to Clarence and Laura Hardesty Moyer, who preceded her in death. Her loving husband of 53 years, Philip D. Hickey, survives.
Mrs. Hickey retired as manager of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art store at City Center Mall, Columbus, which she opened in 1989. She had also held several managerial positions at Gregg's Department Store, Lima, and while living on Cape Cod, Mass., she worked in real estate and operated an antique shop. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Columbus. She was a 1949 graduate of Lima Central High School. She and her husband moved back to Ohio in 1989.
Survivors also include two daughters, Cynthia (David) Webber and Julie (Jay) Rapp, both of Upper Arlington; a son, David (Annemarie) Hickey of Dublin; seven grandchildren, Laura "Annie" Webber, Matthew Webber, Molly Rapp, Katie Rapp, Keeley Hickey, Sarah Hickey and Reilly Hickey; two brothers, Robert (Carol) Moyer of Columbus and Howard (Juanita) Moyer of Findlay; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Columbus. Monsignor Romano Ciotola will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Lockbourne.

Lima
G. MARIE LEPPLA, 84, died at 1 a.m. April 8, 2004 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born June 5, 1919, in Lima to George and Gladys Simpson Fee, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 18, 1937, she married
Donald W. Leppla, who died Aug. 10, 1987.
Mrs. Leppla had been a homemaker and had worked at the downtown Kewpee and Kroger's on South Main Street. She was a member of Calvary Church and a member of it Women's Guild and had been a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include a son, D. Michael (Sheila) Leppla of Elida; a daughter, Kay (Kenneth Nartker) Morris of Lima; a brother, Harold "Bill" (Lee) Fee of Lima; a sister, Mary Jane Piercefield of Lima; four grandchildren, Todd Morris, Scott (Linda) Morris, Craig (Carolyn) Morris and Brooke (Steve) Leppla; six great-grandchildren, Billy, Cory, Natasha, Colt, Ashley and David; a great-great-granddaughter; and close friend, Eloise Fessler of Lima.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Jr. and Richard Fee; and a sister, Shirley Fee.
Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy Boratko will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Elida.

Columbus Grove
JAMES J. MAKLEY, 80, died at 12:03 a.m. April 8, 2004, at his residence after a three- month battle with lung cancer.
He was born May 8, 1923, in Lima to Alban and Cecil Spencer Makley, who preceded him in death. On June 20, 1959, he married
M. Jeanette Kurber, who survives.
Mr. Makley had been a draftsman at Triplett Corp., Bluffton, for 48 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, where he served as a eucharistic minister. He was a life member of American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving as a decoder in the South Pacific. He enjoyed his family and working with his computer. While working at Triplett Corp., he met his wife, who was the love of his life, and together they contributed 100 years of service to the company. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carl and Denny Hoyt and Carol Makley for their continued love and support. God has now called home a very special husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors also include a son, Thomas Makley of Bowling Green; a daughter, Susan (Bruce) Schroeder of Whitehouse; two brothers, Robert (Marylee) Makley and David (Lynda) Makley, both of Lima; two sisters, Carolyn Makley and Jeanne Winter, both of Lima; a sister-in-law, Virginia Makley of Mishawaka, Ind.; six grandchildren, Kyle Schroeder, Kurt Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, Kristen Schroeder, Nichole Makley and Justin Makley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Makley.

WILLIAM J. "BILL" SIMPSON, 85, formerly of Naples, Fla., died at 5:11 p.m. April 6, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Lima to Merle D. and Marion Fletcher Simpson, who preceded him in death. On March 23, 1944, he married
Betty M. Wood, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Simpson was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 776 and had worked at the Standard Oil Refinery and Tilton Corp. He was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, American Legion Post 96, AMVETS Post 1 and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, the ABOU SAAD Shrine Temple, Panama Canal, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199. He was a Coast Guard veteran serving during World War II.
Survivors also include two daughters, Candace Feison of Wapakoneta and Michele (Kevin) Wiechart of Lima; and two granddaughters, Whitney Marie Elzey and Lydia Ann Wiechart.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Louise Williams.
Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Chaplain Richard Coon will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Shawnee cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
