WILLIE EARL "DUKE" PATRICK, 67, died at 12:27 p.m. April 30, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Griffin, Ga., to Henry and Ossie Lee McDowell Patrick, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 19, 1974, he married
Carolyn J. Cook, who died May 20, 2005.
Mr. Patrick worked at General Motors Corp. He was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 211, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1911, AMVETS Post 1 and American Legion Post 96.
Survivors include three sons, André L. (Sylvia) Cook-Patrick, Terrence L. Cook-Patrick and Guylyn T. Patrick, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Baqué P. Patrick (Wilford) Goodwin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Walter L. (Rosie) Patrick of Lima; two sisters, Sherlene Thompson of Columbus and Virginia A. (James) Oglesbee of Lima; and his fiancée, Mary A. Blackwell of Lima.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert H. and Jimmy L. Patrick; a sister, Dorothy M. Carter; and two grandchildren, Angel T. Williams and Adreanna C. Cook-Patrick.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. B. LaMont Monford Sr. will officiate, with the Rev. Bruce Monford delivering the eulogy. Interment will be in the Memorial Park cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ada
DANIEL J. RAYL, 61, died at 8:32 a.m. May 4, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born May 21, 1944, in Ada to Charles I. and Kathryn C. Businger Rayl, who preceded him in death. On June 13, 1975, he married
Telitha A. Leiser, who survives in Ada.
Mr. Rayl retired as a tool maker from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, after 31 years. He attended County Line Church of the Brethren, Ada. He was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381, Ada. He was an avid fisherman and loved his dog Junior.
Survivors also include four sons, Rock (Shelly) Rayl of Great Falls, Mont., Robert (Tracie) Rayl of San Antonio and Timothy (Kimberlee) Rayl and Tracy (Karyn) Rayl, both of Ada; four daughters, Kimberlee Wingate of Ada, Kimberley Sue (Robert) Schroeder of Findlay, Cynthia (Dave) Shafer of Arlington and Bonita Renee (Frank) Hefner of Ada; six brothers, Col. Wallace (Jean) Rayl of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Waldo (Edith) Rayl, Gerald (Dorothy) Rayl and Jerry (Alta) Rayl, all of Ada, his twin, David (Miriam) Rayl of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Charles D. (Jan) Rayl of Lima; two sisters, Josephine Willeke and Shirley Whetzler, both of Ada; a sister-in-law, Candace (Paul) Caskey of Cicero, Ind.; and 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Pastor David Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Columbus Grove
HELEN V. BENROTH, 93, died at 1:05 p.m. May 3, 2006, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born May 3, 1913, in Columbus Grove to Bert V. and Myrtle M. Bowers Core, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 1, 1934, she married
E. Harold "Hap" Benroth, who died Oct. 31, 1992.
Mrs. Benroth was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove, and its Followers Class. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts, along with reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Eleanore (Roger) Frazier of Lima; a brother, Clyde (Joyce) Core of Columbus Grove; and four sisters, Alice Irwin of Columbus Grove, Mary "Sue" Ridenour of Vaughnsville and Mildred Hawk and Frances Downing, both of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Gordon Harold Benroth; and an infant sister, Myrtle May Core.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Gary Ginter and Chaplain Dave Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Truro cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

Lima
ROBERT E. "BOB" EDWARDS, 74, died at 10:05 a.m. May 3, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Allen County to David and Golda Fralick Edwards, who preceded him in death. On July 27, 1952, he married
Marlene K. Miller, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Edwards was working at Wrightway Food Service and had retired Jan. 1, 1988, as the activities director at Oakwood Forensic Center/Lima State Hospital after more than 34 years. He had also worked at Meijer. He was a member of Allentown United Methodist Church. He was a charter and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6741, Elida, where he served as commander from 2000 to 2002. He served as state commander of the VFW in 2003. He was a member of Johnnie Johnson Chapter 115 of the Korean War Veterans Association, the Elida Boosters Club and the Ohio and National Activities Directors associations. He was a 1952 graduate of Elida High School, where he lettered in football, track, basketball and baseball. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 92nd Armored Field Artillery, from Aug. 7, 1952, to July 23, 1954. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and he loved watching them participate in sports and whatever they chose to do. He felt very strongly about veterans and what they've done for the country. He was very patriotic and loved his savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors also include a daughter, Teri Edwards (David) Hobbs of Lima; four sons, Kim (Kelly) Edwards of Elida, Kelly (Patty) Edwards of Cridersville, and Kory Edwards and Kyle (Charlene) Edwards, both of Lima; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Tom Edwards of Lima; and four sisters, Margurite Edwards, Pauline Edwards Cook, Dorothy Edwards and Sue Edwards Mauk, all of Lima.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Loma Edwards Keeling and Emogene Edwards Evers.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Allentown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Neal Whitney will officiate. Burial will be in Allentown cemetery, with military rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a VFW prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

LAWRENCE E. BARCUS, 59, died at 3:34 p.m. Dec. 25, 2002, in the emergency room at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. today at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral, Lewis Chapel. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite cemetery.

Columbus Grove
GLADWIN E. BOURQUIN, 90, died at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 26, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Archbold to Ira and Ethel Blair Bourquin, who preceded him in death. On June 5, 1938, he married
Marie Bogart, who survives.
Mr. Bourquin was retired from Standard Oil, Lima, and previously had worked for Lugibill Auction, Archbold. He also had worked as a meat cutter for Shafer Meat Market, Lima, and Kohls Market and Grove Market, both in Columbus Grove. He was a member of Columbus Grove United Church of Christ, Rufus Putnam Masonic Lodge 364, Columbus Grove, where he had served as past master and had been a member for 55 years. He was a member of Columbus Grove Senior Citizens and he loved watching sports on television. He played high school basketball at Archbold High School.
Survivors also include two sons, David Bourquin of Redlands, Calif., and William (Elfie) Bourquin of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a daughter, Diane (Gene) Bywater of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.; a sister, Gladys Hammonds of Perrysburg; four grandchildren, Tim, Bruce and Emile Bourquin, and Brent Bywater; and two great-grandchildren, Courtney Bourquin and Toby Bywater.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wave, Charles and Edwin Bourquin.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Larry Blunden will officiate. Burial will be in Truro cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
