MARCELLE AGLER, 83, died at 5:10 a.m. Jan. 17, 2006, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul W. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Ohio City.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary service will be held at 7 p.m.

Hudson, Fla.
WILLIAM CHALRES BAXTER, 53, died Jan. 13, 2006, at his residence.

NORBERT BERELSMAN, 80, died at 10:40 a.m. Jan. 17, 2006, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.

Ottawa
HAROLD E. CARPENTER, 79, died at 5:05 p.m. Jan. 16, 2006, at his residence.
He was born March 9, 1926, in Ottawa, to William and Elizabeth Johnson Carpenter, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 3, 1956, he married
Alma Siefker, who survives in Ottawa.
Mr. Carpenter retired from Louisiana-Pacific/Weatherseal, Ottawa, after 39 years. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9142 and a member of American Legion Post 63 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2234, all in Ottawa. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors also include four sons, Richard (Debra) Carpenter of Ottawa, Harold N. (Becky) Carpenter of Miller City, Dale Carpenter of Ottawa and Larry (Julie Golliher) Carpenter of Lima; a daughter, Joanna (Greg) Krouse of Springfield; 12 grandchildren, Josh Carpenter, Ashley Chalfin, Amanda Chalfin, Dustin Krouse, Nathan Krouse, B.J. Krouse, Kazmin McIntre, Austin Carpenter, Kimberleigh Carpenter, Sarah Carpenter, Valorie Carpenter and Ashley (Austin) Carpenter; a great-grandchild, Blaise McIntre.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Alice, Howard, Harry, Kate, Ed, Helen and William.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Father Tim Knepper will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 9142.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a Scripture service will be held at 2:30 p.m. and a VFW service at 7 p.m., both on Thursday.

Van Wert
TREVOR J. ELLERBROCK, 27, died at 11:02 p.m. Jan. 15, 2006, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 24, 1978, in Lima to Daniel Ellerbrock and Marlene Rice Ducheney. His father survives in St. Marys. His mother and stepfather, Ralph Ducheney, survive in Van Wert. He married
Victoria A. Cuevas, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Ellerbrock worked at Fleetwood Industries, Decatur, Ind. He attended Harvest Field Church of God, Scott. He was a graduate of Lincolnview High School. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, basketball and poker. He was a wonderful, loving, caring husband and father.
Survivors also include a son, Aiden Ryan Ellerbrock at home; his twin brother, Travis Ellerbrock of Van Wert; a sister, Stacia (Mike) Profit of Rockford; a stepbrother, Brian (Amelita) Ducheney of Van Wert; two sisters-in-law, Veronica and Vanessa Cuevas, both of Van Wert; a brother-in-law, Jose Cuevas of Van Wert; his mother-in-law, Rosario Contreras of Van Wert; six nieces, Marissa, Arianna, Alysia, Shania, Delayna and Ryanne; a nephew, Dylan; and several aunts and uncles.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Chuck Eberle will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Van Wert.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lima
MERVIN J. "PINKY" FREED, 89, died at 5:12 p.m. Jan. 16, 2006, at Beverly Heath Care.
He was born Sept. 24, 1916, in Lima to Sherman and Mollie Wheelbarger Freed, who preceded him in death. On March 24, 1945, he married
Bernadine Niemeyer, who died April 20, 1982.
Mr. Freed retired as a guard from the Lima State Hospital, after 20 years. He was an avid animal lover. He enjoyed life and meeting new people.
Survivors include two adopted grandchildren, Sarah E. Woods and Michael D. Layton, both of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Freed; his twin brother, Irvin H. Freed; and a sister, Norma Freed.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Mansfield
THE REV. PAUL RUSSELL HANEY, 76, died Jan. 16, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Mansfield. The Rev. Sharon Kiesel will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Live Oak cemetery, Paulding.

Lima
EVE K. LaRUE, 81, died at 6:10 p.m. Jan. 16, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born May 8, 1924, in Lima to William Victor and Gladys Marie Zimmerman Keith, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. LaRue was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church. She had enjoyed bowling when she was younger.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Harris of Lima, E. Michele Caudill of Michigan and Lisa Ormsby of Spencerville; three sons, John LaRue of Kentucky and Keith (Barb) LaRue and Keihl LaRue, both of Lima; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven James LaRue; a son-in-law, Tom Harris; a sister, Irene (Gordon) Scott and two brothers, William and Wayne Keith.
Private graveside services and visitation will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Spencerville
GERALD A. "JERRY" LAYMAN, 46, died at 9:20 a.m. Jan. 17, 2006, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
He was born March 29, 1959, in Lima to Noah E. and Glenda J. Comstock Layman, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Layman had worked as a machine operator at Trim-Trends Corp., Spencerville, from 1983 to 2000. He was affiliated with St. Patrick Catholic Church, Spencerville. He was a 1977 graduate of Spencerville High School. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had lived at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home since 2000.
Survivors include a son, Cody E. Layman of Spencerville; three brothers, Charles "Chuck" (Diana) Layman of Delphos, his twin, Harold Layman Spencerville and Glenn (Kelly) Layman of Lima; two sisters, Lois (Ron) Hole of Elida and Patricia "Pat" (Jack) Lautzenheiser of Lima; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Father John Fleck will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville cemetery.
