Ada
KATHARINE ELIZABETH BROWN, 17, died at 11 p.m. Dec. 26, 2002, on state Route 309 after a car accident.
She was born Dec. 16, 1985, in Athens, Ga., to Danny L. and Brenda McIntosh Brown, who survive in Ada.
Ms. Brown was a junior at Ada High School and worked for Ada Theatre. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Ada, and helped with Bible school at the church. She attended a Youth Mission Trip to Appalachia through the church. She was an honor student, a member of the Ada Marching Band, pep band, concert band, concert choir and girls choir. She was also a member of the school's drama club, language club, yearbook staff, newspaper, The Dog Bone, and swim team.
Survivors also include a brother, Christopher T. Brown at home; maternal grandparents, Harold and Mary McIntosh of Brandenburg, Ky.; paternal grandfather, Robert L. Brown of Guston, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Leona Brown.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. The Rev. Patrick Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Lima
JEAN L. CATON, 82, died at 6:30 a.m. Dec. 27, 2002, at Lima Convalescent Home after a brief illness.
She was born May 14, 1920, in Urbana to Clark V. and Esther G. Jordan Coffey, who preceded her in death. She married
Robert Earl Caton, who died March 6, 1989.
Mrs. Caton retired as a secretary for Aircraft Dynamics. She also worked as secretary for the Lima school board. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was very active. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include a son, David W. (Linda) Caton of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Carolyn Saunders of Lima and Susan (Greg) Adkins of Mason; a brother, Don (Betsy) Coffey of Vandalia; four grandchildren, Rob Saunders, Randy (Amy) Saunders, Ryan Adkins and Kyle Adkins; and three stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard J. and William Coffey.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel. The Rev. Jack Chalk will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

St. Marys
ADA G. GAYER, 95, of St. Marys and formerly of Dayton, died at 9:50 p.m. Dec. 26, 2002, at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. The Rev. Keith Kivlin will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery, St. Marys.
Friends may call from noon until the time of services today at the funeral home.
Lima
GRANT E. GEITHMANN, 31, died at 5 p.m. Dec. 26, 2002, at SCCI Hospital.
He was born March 7, 1971, in Fort Hood, Texas. His mother, Pauline L. Smith Geithmann, survives in Morrisdale, Pa.
Mr. Geithmann had been a nurse's aide for Lima Convalescent Home and worked as a maitre d' at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Philadelphia. He graduated in 1989 from Phillipsburg-Oceola High School, Phillipsburg, Pa. He attended Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Bucyrus. He enjoyed antiques, arts and crafts, concerts, reading and outdoor activities.
Survivors also include his maternal grandmother, Bruna Cain of Bucyrus; aunts and uncles, Anna and Harold Fitz of Bucyrus, Denny and Rosie Kilpatrick of Hendersonville,, Tenn., and Charlene and Jim Warren of Bucyrus; and nine cousins and 14 second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Smith.
Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Bucyrus. The Rev. Robert Mathias will officiate.

HELEN F. HAYNES, 87, died at 8:35 a.m. Dec. 26, 2002, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, Kenton. The Rev. George Pirtle will officiate. Burial will be in Grove cemetery.

OPAL A. HIGHT, 94, died at 9:52 p.m. Dec. 26, 2002, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home, Wapakoneta.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina. The Rev. Steve Howell will officiate. Burial will follow in Swamp College cemetery, Celina.

Ottawa
JAYNA J. McGLAUGHLIN, 49, died at 6:05 a.m. Dec. 27, 2002, at her residence.
She was born June 28, 1953, in Kenton to James and Katherine "Kack" Risner Johnson, who survive in McGuffey. On Sept. 2, 1973, she married
Kevin McGlaughlin, who survives.
Mrs. McGlaughlin was an elementary physical education teacher for 21 years at Miller City-New Cleveland schools. She was a member of First Christian Church, Leipsic, and the Miller City and Ottawa-Glandorf athletic boosters. She was a 1971 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bluffton College in 1975 and a master's degree in education from Wright State University.
Survivors also include a son, Tyson McGlaughlin at home; two daughters, Mandie (Kyle) Erford and Brittany (Jason) Heringhaus, both of Ottawa; a brother, Rex (Janine) Johnson of Ottawa; a sister, Tami (Mike) Hunsicker of Alger; her father- and mother-in-law, James and Doris McGlaughlin of Alger; and a grandson, Carter Heringhaus.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the Miller City High School gymnasium. The Rev. Tim Eding will officiate.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Lima
MILDRED C. MYERS, 97, formerly of Lima, died Dec. 25, 2002, in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was born April 18, 1905, in the Lima area. She married
Carl H. Myers, who died in 1986.
Mrs. Myers taught at Roundhead school and finally at Lima Central Junior High School. She retired in 1969. She was a graduate of Ohio Northern University. She loved playing bingo.
Survivors include a son, Carl J. (Diane) Myers of Mentor; two daughters, Charlene K. (Ronald) Leffel of Orange Park, Fla., and C. Sue (Tad) Doolittle of Lima; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave Neal and Edmond Neal; and three sisters, Bernice Barrick, Flossie Turner and Bessie Cummings.
There will be no local memorial service. Burial will be in Roundhead cemetery.
Kenton
TODD A. SPEARMAN, 39, died Dec. 25, 2002, from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident near his home.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Kenton. The Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Grove cemetery.
