CHARLES E. DEITRICK, 67, died at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at Plus Health Care Center.

ERMAL DOCK, 99, died at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1904, in Geneva, Ind., to Charles Morton and Lizzie Chrisman, who preceded her in death. On July 13, 1925, she married
Norgo V. Dock, who died May 6, 1982.
Mrs. Dock had been a clerk at the Leader Store. She was a member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren and had attended Sharon Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Norva Dock, Doris (Earl) Zimmerman and Francine (Ray) Dunlap, all of Lima; five grandchildren, Linda Kennedy, David Zimmerman, Gary (Kathy) Zimmerman, Judy (Bob) Hager and Vern (Kathi) Dunlap; 12 great-grandchildren, Sandy Kennedy, Missy Kennedy, Rachael Zimmerman, Jennifer Toothman, Patricia (Aaron) Ricker, Jeff Hager, Doug Graham, Cheryl Sexton, Rebecca Dunlap, Danielle Dunlap, Caleb Dunlap and Susannah Dunlap; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Ashley Toothman, Joshua Toothman, Morgan Elizabeth Ricker, Evan John Ricker, Makenna Ricker, Kaitlyn Sexton, Sidney Sexton and Jakob Sexton.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd and Santford Chrisman, who both had lived in Indiana, and Ercle and Kenneth Chrisman, who both had lived in Celina; two sisters, Josephine Chrisman and Cora Boyd, who both had lived in Indiana; a half sister, Mary Fenstermaker, who had lived in Indiana; four grandchildren, Connie Diane Zimmerman, Dan Dunlap, Karen Dunlap and Nancy Graham; and thee great-grandchildren, Steven Michael Zimmerman, Christine Graham and Donna Jean Graham.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel. The Rev. Mary Kay Brown will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park cemetery.

PHILOMENA M. HOHENBRINK, 86, died at 7:55 p.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Ottawa to Joseph and Agnes Meyer Utendorf, who preceded her in death. On May 7, 1955, she married
Cornelius A. Hohenbrink, who died April 22, 1987.
Mrs. Hohenbrink retired from Neon Products, Lima. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and its Rosary Altar Society.
Survivors include a son, Neil (Sue) Hohenbrink of Ottawa; three grandsons; a brother, Joseph (Edna) Utendorf Jr. of Ottawa; and a sister, Angeline (Norbert) Recker of Kalida.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Leonard and William Utendorf; and two sisters, Sister Mildred Utendorf, CPPS, and Gertrude Meyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Father Tom Hemm will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a Scripture service will be held at 3 p.m.

Spencerville
JEANETTE SCHWARCK, 79, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 8:35 p.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville, where she resided since Sept. 9, 1999.
She was born June 5, 1924, in Lima to Harvey S. "Sim" and Mary Doan Davis, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 1, 1942, she married
Billy E. Schwarck, who survives in Spencerville and is her former husband.
Mrs. Schwarck was a homemaker and had worked at Nameplate Co. and Ohio Decorative Products, both in Spencerville. She had also worked with Helping Hands in the area. She attended Bethlehem Christian Union Church, north of Buckland. She loved fishing and nature.
Survivors also include a son, Larry (Hilda) Schwarck of Brimley, Mich.; two daughters, Rita Smith of Piqua and Linda (Larry) Reed of Spencerville; and 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Clayton Davis; and a sister, Ruby Spring.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Larry Schwarck will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville cemetery.

Lima
JOHN P. SCIRANKA Sr., 80, died at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 10, 2004, at Lost Creek Care Center.
He was born June 20, 1923, in Lima to George and Barbara Hugjak Sciranka, who preceded him in death. On June 26, 1948, he married
Mary Louise Adkins, who died April 10, 1981.
Mr. Sciranka retired in 1981 as a laborer from Clark Equipment Co., after 39 years. He was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima. He was a life member of Buckeye Boys State, which he attended in 1940, and Knights of Columbus 2661. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199. He was a volunteer at the YWCA and St. Rita's Healthy Lifestyle Center at the Lima Mall. He was a Navy veteran serving in the Construction Battalion (Seabees) from Aug. 20, 1943, to March 19, 1946.
He was proud of his Slovak heritage and proud to be a first generation American. He loved fishing, growing vegetables and baking. He loved people and people loved him. His favorite saying was,"I've never met a stranger." He enjoyed talking to everyone he saw. He had a special place in his heart for the less fortunate and those who suffered a disability.
Survivors include three sons, John P. (Brenda) Sciranka and Tom P. (Lisa) Sciranka, both of Lima, and Andrew G. Sciranka of Delphos; two daughters, Deborah A. Harper of Lima and Kristina M. (Stephen) Hahn of Waynesfield; and a sister, Mary (Carl) Burgess of Lima; and 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren,
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and George Sciranka Jr.; and two sisters, Anna Sciranka and Barbara Christoff.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. today at St. John Catholic Church, Lima. The Rev. Henry Sattler, C.SS.R., will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.

BEATRICE I. SPROUL, 82, died at 12:35 p.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Lima to William "Ambrose" and Edna Sutter Keller, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 23, 1940, she married
William Franklin "Frank" Sproul, who died Dec. 10, 1989.
Mrs. Sproul retired in 1986 as a stock clerk at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., after 21 years. She was a member of Waynesfield Baptist Church, Waynesfield.
Survivors include a son, Michael A. (Jean) Sproul of Lima; a daughter, Sherry (Richard) Matzen of Lima; a sister, Virginia B. Royer of Belle Center; five grandchildren, Jennifer (William) Swindell, Daniel Sproul, Kathleen Sproul, Cathie Ganser and Karen (Roger) Gilbert; and four great-grandchildren, David, Amber, Judy and Brandon.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Zwiebel and Betty J. Woodruff; and two brothers, Albert E. Keller and L. Harold Keller.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Chapel. Pastor Donald Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Branch cemetery, Waynesfield.

CAROLYN J. SCHELL THUT, 65, died Feb. 10, 2004, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland.
She was born Nov. 30, 1938, in Celina to Harry A. and Grace J. Manor Schell Sr. Her mother survives in Berne, Ind. On Oct. 16, 1959, she married
Don Thut, who survives.
Mrs. Thut retired from Arab Pest Control in Florida and had worked at Eckerd Drug Corp. She attended First Missionary Church, Berne, Ind. She enjoyed bowling and shopping.
Survivors also include a brother, Alvin (Darlene) Schell of Portland, Ind.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry A. Schell Jr.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, West Alexandria.
