WILLIAM C. VORESS, 79, of Brazil, Ind., formerly of Lima, died at 9:10 a.m. Feb. 13, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Lima to William C. and Fern Sietz Voress, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 1, 1960, in Toledo, he married
Betty Hugg Shumate, who survives. They had been married
43 years.
Mr. Voress had been a printer at several newspapers in Ohio and Indiana for more than 30 years. He had been a correction officer for the State of Indiana at the Rockville Training Center for the last 10 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 2 and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1127, both Brazil, Ind. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II serving in the European Campaign and retired as a captain from the Army National Guard after 20 years. He enjoyed reading, hunting and keeping up on the history of World War II.
Survivors also include eight children, William C. (Ann) Voress and Robert A. (Louise) Voress, both of Lima, Kenneth L. Shumate of Brazil, Ind., Rick A. Pugsley of Van Wert, Donna J. (Robert) Brown and Nancy J. (Kenny) Reis, both of Lima, Lynn M. (James) Porter of Terre Haute, Ind., and Sue Ellen (David Vanatti) Piper of Brazil, Ind.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two half brothers and a half sister.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Miller Memorial Chapel, Brazil, Ind. Burial will be in Clearview cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 2 and VFW Post 1127.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Columbus Grove
WILLARD B. "BILL" WILLIAMS, 91, died at 8:46 p.m. Feb. 12, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born June 29, 1912, in Columbus Grove to Samuel and Eliza Wiseley Williams, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 17, 1959, he married
Goldie M. Marks, who died Aug. 9, 2000.
Mr. Williams retired as a monument dealer and as a custodian for Columbus Grove schools. He had served on the Columbus Grove Village Council. He was a 62-year member and past master of Rufus Putnam Lodge 364 Free & Accepted Masons. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Donald M. Williams of Columbus Grove; three daughters, Sarah A. Williams and Rebecca L. Louth, both of Columbus Grove, and Susan J. Williams of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Amy M. Williams, Annette L. Williams, D. Marcus Williams, Laura B. Williams, Samuel J. Williams, Abigail E. Louth, Elizabeth I. Louth and Emeline D. Louth; and five great-grandchildren, Zachariah Roberson, Brianna Roberson, Augusta Roberson, Demontra Porter and Deshawn Porter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel; three brothers, Byron, George and Paul; and four sisters, Leah Barto, Hannah Turner, Ruth Talbot and Anna Williams.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Gary Ginter will officiate. Burial will be in Truro cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m.

Delphos
LEONA B. JOHNSON WISE, 94, died at 9:40 a.m. Feb. 13, 2004, at VanCrest Health Care Center.
She was born Oct. 29, 1909, in Putnam County to Charles and Mary Dray Miller, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 16, 1937, she married
Earl Johnson, who died Nov. 2, 1953. She then married
Clarence Wise, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wise was a homemaker. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Delphos.
Survivors include several cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Johnson, and a brother.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Toledo Memorial Park cemetery, Toledo.

LUCILLE E. HAHN, 78, died at 10:55 p.m. April 8, 2004, at Otterbein-Cridersville.

Columbus Grove
JAMES J. MAKLEY, 80, died at 12:03 a.m. April 8, 2004, at his residence after a three- month battle with lung cancer.
He was born May 8, 1923, in Lima to Alban and Cecil Spencer Makley, who preceded him in death. On June 20, 1959, he married
M. Jeanette Kurber, who survives.
Mr. Makley had been a draftsman at Triplett Corp., Bluffton, for 48 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, where he served as a eucharistic minister. He was a life member of American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving as a decoder in the South Pacific. He enjoyed his family and working with his computer. While working at Triplett Corp., he met his wife, who was the love of his life, and together they contributed 100 years of service to the company. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carol and Denny Hoyt and Carol Makley for their continued love and support. God has now called home a very special husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors also include a son, Thomas Makley of Bowling Green; a daughter, Susan (Bruce) Schroeder of Whitehouse; two brothers, Robert (Marylee) Makley and David (Lynda) Makley, both of Lima; two sisters, Carolyn Makley and Jeanne Winter, both of Lima; a sister-in-law, Virginia Makley of Mishawaka, Ind.; six grandchildren, Kyle Schroeder, Kurt Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, Kristen Schroeder, Nichole Makley and Justin Makley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Makley.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Robert Kurber and the Rev. Ron Warnimont will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 516.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m.

Celina
BARBARA J. MARKER, 69, formerly of Bellefontaine, died at 2:57 a.m. April 8, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Logan County to Cecil and Sue Grant Jacobs Sr., who preceded her in death. On Oct. 19, 1952, in Rushsylvania, she married
Charles W. Marker, who survives in Celina.
Mrs. Marker was a homemaker. She was a member of United Methodist Church, New Knoxville. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bellefontaine, and Hospice of Okeechobee, Fla.
Survivors also include four sons, William P. (Charnell) Marker of Fort Wayne, Ind., Charles D. (Sherry) Marker of Celina, Franklin E. (Gretchen) Marker of Monks Corner, S.C., and Phillip E. (Christine) Marker of New Knoxville; a sister, Lee Hiser of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Jean Marker.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Pastor Mitch Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Huntsville cemetery, Huntsville.

MEMPHIS JAEGGAR RAINES SCHROEDER was stillborn at 10:53 p.m. April 8, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
His parents, Stuart and Candi Knouse Schroeder, survive in Lima.
Survivors also include two brothers, Aeustyn Schroeder and Tristan Schroeder, both at home; a sister, Monica Schroeder at home; paternal grandparents, Michael and Sue Schroeder of Findlay and Pamela and Larry Emans of Bowling Green; maternal grandparents, Stuart and Clara Ann Knouse of Findlay; paternal great-grandparents, George and Ruth Schroeder of Ottawa and Karl and Rose Hoffman of Columbus Grove; and maternal great-grandmother, Emily Lambert of Patriot.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Leonard and Georgeina Knouse and Clinton Lambert; and an uncle, Vernon Knouse.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday in SS. Peter and Paul cemetery, Ottawa. Father Tim Knepper will officiate.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Leipsic
DENNIS J. SCHROEDER, 80, died at 7:55 a.m. April 8, 2004, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Leipsic to August and Eleanora Smith Schroeder, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Schroeder was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic, and its Holy Name Society. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Leipsic. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three brothers, Saturninus "Barney" Schroeder, Justin (Kate) Schroeder and Ronald (Edith) Schroeder, all of Leipsic; two sisters, Coletta Niese of Leipsic and Bernadette (George) Burke of Columbus; four sisters-in-law, Viola Schroeder, Clara Schroeder, Luella Schroeder and Rose Schroeder, all of Leipsic; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Cletus, James "Jake", Guido, Hyacinth "Jack" and Valen Schroeder; a sister, Geneva Snyder; two sisters-in law, Anna Schroeder and Mary Schroeder; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Snyder and Harold Niese.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic. Father George Wenzinger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by the Leipsic VFW.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Love Funeral Home, Leipsic, where a parish rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
