82, died at 6 a.m. April 18, 2001, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
She was born November 12, 1918, in Duluth, MN. To Paul and Bertha Shrunk Luken. On May 14, 1955, she married
Charles R. Coon, who died in July 1981.
Mrs. Coon retired as a cook from the Oaks Convalescent Home.
Survivors include a son, Larry Coon of Lima; and four grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry Dove will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services today at the funeral home.

IRVIN J. REIFF
88, died at 5 a.m. April 19, 2001, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
He was born August 31, 1912, in Detroit to Joseph A. and Mabel A. Hickman Reiff. On July 25, 1932, he married
Laura Irene Buckmaster, who died December 21, 1983.
Mr. Reiff retired in 1974 from Clark Equipment Co., after 33 years. He was a member of South Side Christian Church. He was a member of Lodge 205 Free and Accepted Masons, Chapter 49 Royal Arch Masons, Council 20 Royal and Select Masons and Shrine 20 Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Reiff of Lima; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; and care givers, David and Nanette Swallow.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chamber-Huckeriede Funeral home. The Rev. Doug Adams will officiate. Interment will be in the Memorial Park cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a Masonic Service will be held at 8 p.m.

ROSE ANN GROVES
48, died at 11:43 a.m. April 20, 2001, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born January 29, 1953, in Lima to Virgil and Florence McFarland Barga. On November 29, 1975, she married
Robert Raymond Groves Jr., who died July 21, 1998.
Mrs. Groves was a secretary at West Middle School and had worked for Lima Schools since 1989. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and the Tuesday Night Westgate Bowling League. She was a 1971 graduate of Lima Central Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Robert R. “Rocky” Groves III of Dayton; two daughters, Traci L. (Larry) Garman of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Melissa R. Groves of Lima; four brothers, Joseph Barga, William Barga and Charles Barga, all of Lima, and Raymond Barga of Gilbertsville, KY.; a sister, Susan Flanagan of Destrehan, LA.; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m.

MAXINE SPAYD
82, died at 1:45 p.m. April 20, 2001, at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born August 5, 1918, in Mercer County to Floyd and Minnie Kolter Griffin. On October 27, 1940, she married
Robert Spayd, who died October 25, 1991.
Mrs. Spayd was a homemaker and worked in the auditor’s office. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She graduated from Elida High School and Lima Business College. She was a Cincinnati Reds Fan.
Survivors include a son, Randall “Randy” (Linda) Spayd of Lima; a daughter, Claudia (George) Sullivan of Lima; a brother, Claude Griffin of Dallas; three sisters, Jean McCain of Lima, Joan Myers of Bluffton and Joerdis Hurley of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
A sister, Melba Stuby, and a grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Elida.

CATHERINE CAMERON ADAMS
94, died at 2:45 a.m. April 22, 2001, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 11, 1906, in Dumbarton, Scotland, to Angus and Mary Stewart Cameron. In 1943 she married
Lawrence W. Adams, who died in 1954.
Mrs. Adams worked at Audio Manufacturer, Stamford, CT., for 15 years. She was a member of First Community Church, Stamford, CT. and E.U. Church in Dumbarton, Scotland. She had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Stamford, CT.
Survivors include a son, David S. (Estella) Adams of Lima; and a sister, Jean Thompson of Scottsdale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Alaistair, Hugh, Donald and Angus Cameron and two infants; and a sister, Peggy Farquhar.
Memorial services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Episcopal Church, where fellowship will follow the services. The Rev. Darwin Ralston will officiate.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and a half-hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

JAMES L. FLYNN,
79, died at 8:30 a.m. September 2, 2002, at his residence.
He was born December 6, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Edward and Margaret
Beery Flynn, who preceded him in death. On February 14, 1970, he married
Marie F. Walzer Bluemling, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Flynn retired in 1983 as a metallurgist for Chrysler at the Lima Tank Plant. He had worked at Kelsey-Hayes Wheel Company in Pittsburgh and Romulus, Michigan, was a quality control engineer and metallurgist for Chrysler in Michigan before being transferred to Lima with Chrysler Defense to open the Lima Tank Plant. He had also been an instructor at Schoolcraft College, Livonia, Michigan and had taught tech courses in metallurgy, theory, laboratory, print reading and basic and advanced foundry theory practices. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors also include two sons, Edward (Susan) Flynn of Plantation, Florida and James (Kathy) Flynn of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, two stepsons, Edward Bluemling and Robert (Dee VanKirk) Bluemling, both of Pittsburgh, two daughters, Alice (Buster) Jones and Nancy Flynn, both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a sister, Regina Rumberger of Naples, Florida, and 10 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Flynn, two brothers, Jerry and Ted Flynn, and two sisters, Margaret Driscoll and Ursula O’Donnell.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The Rev. David M. Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani cemetery.

LILLIAN ANNA JORDAN,
74, died at 2:05 a.m. September 6, 2002, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
She was born September 28, 1927, in Lima to Henry and Margaret Warwick Frueh, who preceded her in death. She was her “mother and daddy’s precious little girl.” On November 11, 1946, she married
Richard L. “Dick” Jordan, and they shared 56 wonderful years together. Mr. Jordan died September 22, 2001.
On their 50th anniversary, their nieces and nephews threw the party of the century. Her favorite song, “Keeper of the Stars,” best describes her feelings on love and marriage. She was a woman of deep faith and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She had great respect for the Revs. Dave Ross and Bill Rose and Sister Elizabeth, who gave her spiritual guidance. She attended school at Perry and later at Shawnee, graduating in 1945. She played trumpet in the band. Her first job at age 15 was a sales clerk at W.T. Grant Co. After that, she worked at Neisner’s Dime Store. She worked at Inter-City Cartage Trucking co. In 1961, she began at Webb Insurance Company eventually becoming office manager. After moving to Tipp City in 1979, she was office manager at Koverman-White Insurance, Troy. Bob Koverman told her many times she was “the best employee I’ve ever had.”
In 1983, she received a certificate from the National Association of Insurance Women as a certified professional insurance woman. The Tipp City St. John Knights of Columbus council 5129 for 1986-87 named her and her husband Family of the Year. In 1994, she received a plaque from the exchange club of Lima for her efforts. She was involved with Johnny Appleseed Metro Park, receiving a five-year volunteer award in 1996. For many years she and her husband worked at LCC basketball and football games, and were big T-Bird fans. She had been an avid bowler. In 1972-73, her team won the Sunday Night Rollers League. Teddy bears were a favorite and her collection held a special place in her heart. She liked to fish and treasured the years she spent at “The Lake.” She could filet Lake Erie perch better and quicker than anyone. She was an excellent cook and hostess, with her cheesecake, beef and noodles and peach pie being favorites. She enjoyed the “Ladies Luncheons” when she got together with friends and former co-workers. She helped with dinners after funeral Masses at St. Charles. After she retired in 1989, she and her husband spent winters in Florida, where they made numerous friends. Family traditions were important and she looked forward to having the family over for the holidays. “The gatherings” at Christmas and the Memorial Day cookout were favorites. After the loss of her husband, God sent her a white “fat cat” to give her companionship and comfort. “Snowflake” was her pride and joy.
Survivors include 2 nephews and nieces, including Patricia (Larry) Briggs and Diane (Marvin) Mullett, who were her caregivers, and many great nephews and nieces, and several great great nephews and nieces.
Four brothers, Henry Frueh, Jerome Frueh, John Frueh and Eugene Frueh, preceded her in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. William J. Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani cemetery.
