Fort Jennings
JAMES A. LANDWEHR, 67, died at 7:20 a.m. Dec. 28, 2002, at his residence.
He was born March 13, 1935, in Ottoville to Charles F. and Frances J. Trenkamp Landwehr, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 31, 1957, he married
Alice M. Jerwers, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Mr. Landwehr was a lifelong farmer and retired from Philips Display Components in 1993 after 42 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and of American Legion Post 715, both in Fort Jennings.
Survivors also include four sons, Carl (Tammy Rena) Landwehr, Stephen (Tammy) Landwehr and Donald Landwehr, all of Fort Jennings, and Thomas (Sharon) Landwehr of Elida; a daughter, Joan (Terry) Meyer of Columbus Grove; five brothers, Joseph (Lillian) Landwehr of Ottawa, Charles (Mary Jane) Landwehr of Fort Jennings and Alfred Landwehr, Elmer (Jane) Landwehr and Paul (Pat) Landwehr, all of Kalida; three sisters, Jo Ann (Herk) Menke and Irene (Bill) Warnecke, both of Fort Jennings, and Rita (John) Martin of Delphos; eight grandchildren, Gina Schrader, Beth Landwehr, Alan Landwehr, Rachel Landwehr, Ashlee Wallen, Theresa Evans, Kyle Meyer and Cory Meyer; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Schrader and Courtney Ebbeskotte.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Landwehr; a brother, Edward Landwehr; two sisters, Mary Maag and Anna Marie Landwehr; and a sister-in-law, Janet Landwehr.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings. The Rev. Tony Borgia will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Fort Jennings, with military rites by American Legion Post 715.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 3 p.m. and an American Legion service at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masses, St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or to the Delphos Visiting Nurses and Hospice.

JACK A. MAISCH, 79, died at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 29, 2002, at his residence.

RUTHELA MILLER, 87, died at 2:05 p.m. Dec. 28, 2002, at Lost Creek Care Center.
She was born June 4, 1915, in Allen County to Arthur L. and Mary Bissell Kennedy, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 15, 1947, she married
Frank E. Miller, who died March 15, 1991.
Mrs. Miller had been a former officer at Central Savings and Loan. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi. She was a sweet, kind, loving wife and mother. She loved her family, home and church. She cherished her dear friends from the Spencerville High School Class of 1933 and her caring sisters of Beta Sigma Phi. She provided many special memories for family Thanksgivings and Christmases.
Survivors include a son, Scott A. (Jackie) Miller of Hilliard; two daughters, Barbara L. (John) Pike of Toledo and Sue L. (Ronald) Bell of Lima; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Brett and Jacob Miller and Greg (Karen) Bell, all of Columbus, John (Theresa) Pike Jr. and Jennifer Stegeman, both of Toledo, Doug (Heather) Bell of Lima and Anne (James) Brown of San Diego; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Kennedy.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Jack Chalk will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and beginning one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home, where a Beta Sigma Phi memorial service will be held tonight.

Lima
NORMAN E. REAM, 69, died at 10:35 p.m. Dec 28, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born March 23, 1933, in Lima to Floyd and Helen Hope Mechling Ream, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 18, 1958, he married
Barbara J. Satterfield, who survives.
Mr. Ream was president of Steed Trucking Inc. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army for 12 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Lima, and a member of its funeral detail. He was a member of AMVETS Post 1 and American Legion Post 96, both in Lima. He was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Kenton.
Survivors also include five sons, Jerry "Skip" (Treva) Ream, Dan (Diane) Ream, Mike (Angie) Ream and Eric Ream, all of Lima, and Tim Ream of St. Marys; two daughters, Kathy Kline and Gaynita (Bill) Ciminillo, both of Lima; and 17 grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Warren Goble will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee cemetery, Lima, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

JOHN WESLEY EVANS, 74, died at 10:05 a.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 9, 1928, in Lima, to Carl John Qwency and Florence Barbara Smith Evans, who preceded him in death. On March 27, 1945, he married
Barbara Anne Bryan, who died May 9, 1997.
Mr. Evans retired in 1981 from Ford Motor Co. He also worked for Kregail & Son Heating, Lima. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Ford Retires, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and the Moose Lodge 99, all in Lima. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II.
Survivors include four sons, John B. (Debra) Evans of Dexter, Mich., Cole E. (Jeannie) Evans and Keith A. Evans, both of Cridersville, and Brad L. (Lisa) Evans of Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Diane S. Montgomery and Nancy L. Thompson, both of Sarasota Fla.; a sister, Henrietta Malolepsy of Long Beach, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Patrick Evans; a brother, Paul Evans; and a sister, Stella Junglus.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. The Rev. James C. Couser will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani cemetery.

WILLIAM A. "BILL" GRANT, 73, died at 7:05 p.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Cynthiana, Ky., to James and Elizabeth Owens Grant, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 15, 1965, he married
Janice Ogle, who survives.
Mr. Grant was a quality control supervisor for the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant for 17 years, retiring in 1990. He previously worked in the Dayton area. He was a veteran of the Navy. He enjoyed fishing, being with his grandchildren and watching football.
Survivors also include two sons, William A. Grant Jr. of Dayton and Edward May of Gomer; three daughters, Kimberly Grant of Dayton and Karen Strayer and Denise Ogle, both of Gomer; three brothers, Jack (Marjorie) Grant of Mesa, Ariz., Frank Grant of Martha's Vineyard, Mass., and Stoney (Ruth) Grant of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Ruth Daily and Madeline (Elmer) Fryman, both of Cynthiana, Ky., Betty Ferguson of Brookville, Ruby Riffe of Odessa, Texas, and Peggy (John) McConnell of Cherokee Village, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Matthew Strayer and Jerica Strayer, both of Gomer.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Grant; and a sister, Christine Frickett.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Larry Blunden will officiate. Burial will be in Gomer Pike Run cemetery, Gomer, with military rites by the Columbus Grove American Legion.
