BLANCHE M. SHULTZ, 97, died at 12:45 p.m. Jan. 14, 2006, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.

Ottawa
JANIS R. WATKINS, 65, died at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 11, 1940, in Putnam County to William Henry and Florence Konst Swankhouse, who preceded her in death. On May 23, 1958, she married
John A. Watkins, who died Sept. 13, 1994.
Mrs. Watkins retired from Philips Display Components Co., Ottawa. She was a member of the Ottawa Eagles Auxiliary and an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Watkins of Las Vegas and Scott (Tracy) Watkins of Ottawa; two daughters, Rhonda Ebbeskotte of Lima and Connie (Steve) Mangas of Leipsic; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Denny (Renee) Swankhouse of Kalida; two sisters, Jean (Dick) Archer and Becky (Bobby) Heater, both of Pulaski, Tenn.; and a special friend, Lee Eisenbach of Pandora.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Swankhouse.
Service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Love Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Eding will officiate. Burial will be later in Harman cemetery, Gilboa.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Putnam County Hospice and Homecare.
Pandora
VERNA D. AMSTUTZ, 95, died at 1:30 p.m. April 23, 2006, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born May 13, 1910, in Putnam County to Henry and Catherine DeVore Miller, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 22, 1927, she married
Lawrence T. Amstutz, who died Aug. 25, 1992.
Mrs. Amstutz was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was member of Pandora United Methodist Church and its Women's Society. She was a Bible school teacher. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Survivors include a son, Lawrence (Betty) Amstutz Jr. of Pandora; a daughter, Joan (James) Foster of Pandora; a sister, Mary Bennett of Lima; four grandchildren, David Amstutz, Steven Amstutz, Matthew (Karen) Foster and Marci (Bob) Stahl; and three great-grandchildren, James Foster, Sarah Foster and Benjamin Stahl.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Shirl Miller; and four sisters, Nell Edwards, Velma Diller, Rose Huysmand, and Ruth Reese.
A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. at Harman cemetery, Gilboa. The Rev. Mark Hollinger will officiate. Burial will be in Harman cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before the service at Chiles Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pandora United Methodist Church.
Delphos
EUGENE L. GROTHAUS, 79, died at 12:30 a.m. April 23, 2006, at his residence.
He was born on March 16, 1927, in Delphos to Arnold F. and Leona M. Gerdeman Grothaus, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 28, 1954, he married
Esther M. Hellman, who survives in Delphos. The celebrated more than 50 years of marriage.
Mr. Grothaus was a farmer and he was employed with Tri-County Inc. He retired in 2000. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1362, a member of the CKO No. 76 in Landeck and a member of the Farm Bureau of Van Wert County. He enjoyed playing cards and fixing things.
Survivors also include four sons, Gary Grothaus of Van Wert, Paul Grothaus of Delphos, Daniel Grothaus of Mendon, and Carl (Rhonda) Grothaus of Findlay; three daughters, Joyce Grothaus of Delphos, Sue (Jerry) Beining of Ottoville and Rita Grothaus of Fort Wayne, Ind; a sister, Kathy (Joe) Siefker of Elida; nine grandchildren, Nick, Troy, Nathan, Rachel, Brent, Kerri, Gina, Kyle and Keith; and a nephew, Scott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. The Rev. Thomas Gorman will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a CKO service will take place at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, where a K. of C. service will begin at 7 p.m. and a parish wake service will take place at 7:30 p.m.

CLEDITH A. McNAMARA Sr., 86, died at 4:30 a.m. April 23, 2006, at Plus Health Care Center.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, West Wayne Street Chapel, where arrangements are incomplete. The Rev. Forest Edward Jarrell will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos.

ROBERT LEWIS SAUER, 78, died at 4:10 p.m. April 22, 2006, at his residence.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Dr. Joseph Bishman will officiate. A private burial will be in Shawnee cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before the service at Shawnee United Methodist Church.

Huntsville
ANNABELL BOWSHER WISENER, 90, died at 2:55 a.m. April 20, 2006, at Blake Medical Center, Bradenton, Fla., following an illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1915, in Lima to Walter R. and Anna Bowsher, who preceded her in death. In 1938, she married
Richard G. Wisener, who survives in Huntsville.
Mrs. Wisener worked for the American Red Cross and the Lima YWCA for 60 years. She retired from the American Red Cross Allen County Chapter board of directors in 2004. She was an avid swimmer and teacher. She was the swimming director and water safety instructor and trainer specializing in adaptive aquatics for the disabled. Her Red Cross career began in 1943 when, as a newly certified water safety instructor, she taught survival swimming skills to soldiers leaving for World War II battlefields. Among her many accomplishments was teaching a young Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, how to swim. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. She was a loving wife and mother whose lifelong interests included painting, reading, traveling, gardening, making others happy and helping whomever she could. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, husband and daughters.
Survivors also include two daughters, Alice Ann Morgan of New Paltz, N.Y., and Donna Wright of Anna Maria, Fla.
A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First English Lutheran Church, 107 Mechanic St., Wapakoneta. The Rev. Steven Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. After the burial friends may stop by the Wisener home on Minnewaucken Island, Indian Lake.

Wapakoneta
ARLENE MARIE METZ, 65, died at 12:13 p.m. April 29, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Aug. 10, 1940, in Aulgaize County to William A. and Marguerite R. Seigel Metz, who preceded her in death.
Ms. Metz began her teaching career by teaching sixth grade in Woodland Elementary School in Mansfield. She then taught at Blume High School and the Wapakoneta Middle School. She retired from Wapakoneta City Schools in 2001, after teaching for nearly 40 years. She was a 1958 graduate of Blume High School. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Bowling Green State University in 1963. She earned her master's degree in library science from Ball State University. She was a charter member and silver sister of Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a life member of the Ohio Education Association along with membership in the National Education Association and the Wapakoneta Education Association. She was a member of the Auglaize Retired Teachers Association, Wapakoneta Women's Club and a local book club. She was a track official and member of the Western Ohio Track and Field Association and was involved in the Redskin Relays since its inception. She was a former adviser to the Student Senate at Blume High School. She was a faithful member of St. John United Methodist Church, St. Johns. She was the organist there for more than 40 years. She was a gifted pianist who played for churches and weddings around the area. She also enjoyed accompanying Wapakoneta Middle and High School students during musical competitions. She was the accompanist for the Christian quartet, Just Us. She was instrumental in organizing and co-chairing the annual St. John's School Reunion. She was an avid traveler and was one of the first teachers to be invited to travel to China. After retirement she continued to travel and complete her family's genealogy. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include a brother, Charles W. (Marilyn) Metz of Wapakoneta; a niece, Brandy Metz of Wapakoneta; and several cousins and many friends.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John United Methodist Church, St. John. Pastors Pam Hanlon and David Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery, near Uniopolis.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral, Wapakoneta.
