Ottawa
JOHN W. WANAMAKER, 62, died at 7:35 a.m. Jan. 6, 2003, at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf.
He was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Ottawa to Rolland and Margaret Stechschulte Wanamaker. His mother survives in Ottawa. On May 21, 1960, he married Mary Ellen Dieters, who survives.
Mr. Wanamaker had been owner of Wanamaker Decorating and Shop at Home Interiors, both in Ottawa. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He had been a member of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce. He attended the University of Dayton and Defiance College.
Survivors also include a son, Scott Wanamaker of Ottawa; three daughters, Christine (Charles) Carruthers of Findlay, Lynn (John) Karhoff of St. Louis and Ann (John) Buescher of Ottawa; a sister, Linda K. (Kenneth) Schwarz of New Berlin, Wis.; and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. The Rev. Tom Hemm will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a Scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or SS. Peter and Paul School Endowment Fund.

Bluffton
M. EVELYN BENROTH, 88, died at 5:35 p.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born Nov. 22, 1914, in Orange Township, Hancock County, to Ross and Arah Ewing Triplehorn, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 8, 1938, she married Walter M. Benroth, who died May 13, 1980.
Mrs. Benroth retired from Triplett Corp., Bluffton, after 28 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, and its women's group. She was a member of Bluffton Senior Citizens. She was a volunteer at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Bluffton.
Survivors include a nephew, Butch Amstutz of Bluffton, who was her caregiver; and two sisters, Eileen Mericle of Bluffton and Dorothy Romick of Findlay.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Russel, Dale, Myron and Gerald Triplehorn.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel. The Rev. Dee Wentz will officiate. Burial will be in Cannonsberg cemetery, near Mount Cory.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Putnam County Home Health and Hospice.

Lima
MARY W. BLACK, 86, died at 6:55 p.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born July 21, 1916, in Connorville to Stephan and Anna Tczap Wyhowanec, who preceded her in death. On June 14, 1941, she married Frank Black Sr., who died July 3, 1988.
Mrs. Black was a member of Shawnee Presbyterian Church and had been a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church, where she had been involved in church activities. She was active in Lima schools PTA and a volunteer for Allen County Board of Elections. She was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving grandmother and a blessed great-grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Frank (Sandra) Black Jr. of San Antonio; three daughters, Jacqueline (James) Ehresman and Christine Black, both of Lima, and Sandra (David) Niles of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Helen Davis of Lima and Ann Roth of St. Clairsville; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Lisa) Ehresman of Omaha, Neb., Matthew Ehresman of Cuyahoga Falls, Mary Joe (Michael) Marcheschi of Lovettsville, Va., Robert (Pamela) Niles of Easley, S.C., Dawn Marie Niles of Columbia, S.C., Frank Andrew Niles of Portland, Maine, and Frank Black III of Austin, Texas; and six great-grandchildren, Zachary Ehresman, Tyler Ehresman, Ryan Ehresman, Elizabeth Marcheschi, Jacob Niles and Joseph Niles.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Black; and three brothers, Andrew Logan-Wyhowanec, and John and Stephan Wyhowanec.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Revs. Donald Leckrone and Elmer Whyte will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Memorial Hospital Foundation Emergency Room Fund.

Lima
ANNIE L. BURDEN, 78, died at 5:55 p.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Arrangements are incomplete at Jones-Clark Funeral Home.

Beaverdam
MARCIA W. CAMERON, 64, died at 8:35 a.m. Feb. 10, 2003, at her residence.
Arrangements are incomplete at Siferd Funeral Homes.

Cridersville
GORDON W. CUMMINGS, 85, died at 11:40 a.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at Otterbein Skilled Nursing Center, Cridersville.
He was born June 12, 1917, in Wayne Township, Auglaize County, to Albert Oral and Mollie Edith Lane Cummings, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 15, 1939, he married Beatrice Caroline Dietz, who survives in Cridersville.
Mr. Cummings had been clerk of courts in Auglaize County for more than 21 years. He was a member of Westview United Methodist Church, Cridersville, and was a former district lay leader for the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was a member of Wayne Lodge 569 Free & Accepted Masons. He was a former member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1170, Wapakoneta, the Lions Club in Cridersville and Cypress Gardens and the Public Employees Retirement Club. He was a former president of the Clerk of Courts Association of Ohio.
Survivors also include a daughter, Roseann (Charles) Couchenour of Lakewood; a brother, Paul C. (Dorothy) Cummings of Lima; and six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Adam, Walter, Launis and Rody Cummings; and two sisters, Edith Cummings and Blanche Vermillion.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Westview United Methodist Church, Cridersville. The Rev. Richard C. Adams Jr. will officiate. Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in Willow Branch cemetery, Waynesfield.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein-Cridersville or Westview United Methodist Church.

Wapakoneta
DOROTHY M. DIETZ, 85, died at 10:10 a.m. Feb. 10, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 15, 1917, in Wapakoneta to Albert and Lousia Geyer Schuler, who preceded her in death. She married Glenn "Lucky" Dietz, who died Oct. 21, 1985.
Mrs. Dietz had been as assembler at Westinghouse Electric Corp. and had worked at DWG Cigar Factory. She enjoyed music and playing the organ and piano.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Ralph) Douglas of Wapakoneta; a sister, Joanne (Clyde) Dobie of Lima; and two granddaughters, Cheryl (Todd) Reeder and Angela Douglas.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Abner Schuler; and two sisters, Salome Kottman and Lavern Lytle.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Arthritis Foundation.

Lima
ROBERT "BOB" "CAPPY" EBERHART, 81, died at 8:34 p.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born March 9, 1921, in Kenton to Lester and Leota Seaders Eberhart, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 24, 1951, he married Helen A. Barrett, who survives.
Mr. Eberhart retired in 1983 as a planner for Ohio Power Co., after 22 years, and had worked at Lima Ordnance Depot. He was a member of First Church of God at the Crossroads. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and his family.
Survivors also include a son, Robert E. (Mary) Eberhart Jr. of Las Vegas; a daughter, Brenda F. (Terry) Anderson of Lima; four grandchildren, Tony Anderson, Tyson Anderson, Terry Anderson Jr. and Niccole M. Eberhart; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Hart.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Church of God at the Crossroads. The Revs. David Storlie and Earl Yoakam will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at First Church of God at the Crossroads.
