ELDON M. FORD, 76, died at 4:40 p.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born July 12, 1926, in Lima to Jess C. and Cora E. Flowers Ford. On Nov. 7, 1964, he married
Janice F. Melton, who survives in Cridersville.
Mr. Ford had been special markets manager for Coca Cola Bottling Co., Lima, and had been a driver of First Choice Auto Sales. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Cridersville. He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima, and AMVETS Post 39, Indian Lake. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445, Wapakoneta, and American Legion Post 96, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199, where he was past governor and held a fellowship degree, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, all in Lima. He was a graduate of Lima South High School. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.
Survivors also include a daughter, Dr. Michelle F. Ford of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Donald R. (Carolyn) Ford of Lima; a sister, Joan (Todd) Frankhouser of Lima; and a sister-in-law, Dora Ford of Hickory, N.C.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis J. and Raymond L. Ford; and a sister, Helen M. Miller.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Richard Coon will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

New Bremen
ESTHER A. KUCK, 94, died at 3:40 p.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at St. Marys Living Center, St. Marys.
She was born May 11, 1908, near New Bremen to Edward H. and Alvina Borgeding Quellhorst, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 25, 1934, she married
Ewald D. Kuck, who died July 16, 1982.
Mrs. Kuck was a member of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, where she was very active and had taught the German Bible Class for several years. She had been a volunteer for several organizations throughout the years. She was a member of the Auglaize County Farm Bureau and had served on the Ohio State Farm Bureau Women's Committee. She was a 1925 graduate of New Bremen High School and a 1929 graduate of Oakwood Institute of Cincinnati.
Survivors include three sons, David (Beverly) Kuck, Lee (Sandra) Kuck and William (Christena) Kuck, all of New Bremen; three daughters, Frances (Richard) Reese of Pandora, Barbara Dill of Alexandria, Va., and Lois (Bruce) Saintingnon of Celina; and 14 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dela Dressel; and a granddaughter.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen. The Rev. David Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in German Protestant cemetery, New Bremen.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wapakoneta
DR. JOSEPH LARJ, 74, died at 10:46 a.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Czechoslovakia to Basil and Elizabeth Mikulaninecz Larj, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 18, 1965, he married
Carolyn S. Hanks, who survives.
Dr. Larj was a physician and surgeon in private practice in Wapakoneta for 32 years and had been on the staff at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, retiring Jan. 1, 1997. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. He was a member of Auglaize County Medical Society. He attended medical school in Erlangen, Germany, and received his license as a physician in 1959, after serving his residency in Cleveland. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a loving grandfather and enjoyed traveling.
Survivor also include two sons, Dr. Michael J. Larj of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Dr. Mark A. (Karen) Larj of Wadsworth; two sisters, Olga Susla of Bridgeport, Conn., and Natalie Vadya of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Emma; and three nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Larj.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.

LEE V. OWENS, 86, died at 1 a.m. Feb. 10, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Indiana.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind. The Rev. Scott Fleming will officiate. Burial will be in Decatur cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 43.

DOYLE W. SCHEY, 75, died at 10:39 a.m. Feb. 10, 2003, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Leipsic. The Rev. George Zornow will officiate. Burial will be in Center cemetery, Leipsic.

Lima
KENNETH D. SCHICK, 73, died at 12:40 a.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Jackson Township to Cloyd Russell and Mildred Anna Hochstettler Schick, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Schick retired as an office worker from Ex-Cell-O Corp. He had been the owner of Schick Insurance Agency for 25 years and had been a self-employed carpenter. He was Lutheran. He had been mayor of Lafayette for 20 years and was a member of American Legion Post 96. He an Army veteran serving during Korean War.
Survivors include three sons, Leslie Wayne "Leo" (Laura) Schick of Bluffton, Randy Schick of Lima and Brian (Tracie) Schick of Harrod; two daughters, Renee Winegardner of Lafayette and Michelle (Randy) Johnson of Lima; two brothers, W. Glenn (Joyce) Schick of Granger, Wash., and Howard Ray (Colleen) Schick of Ada; a sister, Arlene Gay (Merlin) Gerdeman of Wheaton, Ill.; and 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 12 nephews and nieces.
Services will begin at 4 p.m. today at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. The Rev. James C. Couser will officiate. Burial of the cremated remains will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park cemetery.

Lima
EARLENE STUMP, 69, died at 6 p.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 19, 1933, in Vanlue to Frank and Catherine Breitigam Beard, who preceded her in death.
Ms. Stump retired in 1999 as a secretary for the Ohio Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. She loved playing golf at Tamarac Golf Course.
Survivors include two sons, Terry (Gwen) Stump and Todd Stump, both of Lima; a daughter, Deb (Jim) Makley of Elida; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Burial will be private in Zion Bloom cemetery, Fostoria.

Lima
LULA A. YOCHUM, 90, died at 2:05 a.m. April 21, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born July 4, 1912, in Fort Jennings to Louis and Mary Heyd Musser, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 27, 1930, she married
Albert Yochum, who died Sept. 2, 1993.
Mrs. Yochum had worked at the cigar factory in Delphos, and at W.T. Grant Store, Delphos. She had been co-owner of Bon Ton Bakery on South Main Street in Lima. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima.
Survivors include two son, Ronald Yochum and Nicholas Yochum, both of Lima; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Shaner of Lima; a sister, Letha Recker of Lima; and 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Yochum; and a daughter, Nancy Joherl.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church, Lima. The Rev. Chris Vasko will officiate. Burial will be in St. John cemetery, Delphos.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp-Straub Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m.
