GROVERTA GRACE BLONDE McDANIEL, 84, died at 11:40 p.m. April 19, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1918, in Jackson Township, Seneca County, to Grover G. and Edith F. McEwen Blonde, who preceded her in death. In 1938, she married
Vernon Steinman, who preceded her in death. In 1948, she married
Wilbur L. Smith, who died in 1985.
Mrs. McDaniel had worked at a cigar factory and had been a cashier at a drugstore. She was a member of Pilgrim Lighthouse. She was a 1936 graduate of Van Buren High School.
She is survived by a niece, Betty Simms of Findlay.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Maude Weyer, who died in 1998.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel. The Rev. John Yohe will officiate. Burial will be in Rudolph-Bethel cemetery, Rudolph.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lima
CARRIE MAE POINT, 95, died at 3:25 a.m. April 19, 2003, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1907, in Rudolph to James and Mary Warren Keever, who preceded her in death. She married
Wilbur W. Point, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 16, 1962, she married
John J. Point, who died June 2, 1975.
Mrs. Point had worked at Jack's Cafeteria, Star Bakery and Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a 50-year member and former president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 Auxiliary, a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199 Auxiliary, Orioles Nest 173 and the Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three stepsons; five stepdaughters; a niece whom she raised, Violet Humphrey of Lima; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul (Betty Jo) Point; and two bothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Larry Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville cemetery, Spencerville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lima
ROBERT WILLIAM RALL, 69, of Akron, formerly of Lima, died April 15, 2003, in Akron.
He was born June 20, 1933, in Kenton to Martin and Anna Pugh Rall. He had been married
to Patricia Sweeney Beougher and Carol A. Monthkovich Rall, who both survive.
Survivors also include a daughter, Catherine (Michael) Hinkle of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; stepchildren, Patty and Chris Johnson, Lisa and Laura Bower and Ruth Neal; five grandchildren, Jeremie Fuson, Stacie Johnson Hundley, Carrie Johnson, Heather Fisher and Charity Fisher; and seven stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert W. Jr. and Ronald D. Rall; two daughters, Cynthia Rall Fisher and Sheila A. Rall; and a sister, Martha King.
Private graveside services will be held in Gethsemani cemetery, Lima.
Lima
WILLARD H. SMITH, 81, died at 9:23 p.m. April 20, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born May 26, 1921, in Williams, Ariz., to Willard C. and Mabel Ost Smith, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 5, 1946, he married
Patricia Elliott, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Smith had been an engineer for General Motors. He was associated with St. Edward Church, Indianapolis. He was a 50-year member of Masonic Temple 130, Mishawaka, Ind., a member of the Shrine Club, Hamin, Ind., Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1, Honolulu, and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His widow had taught at Shawnee High School.
Survivors also include a son, Richard C. (Loleta) Smith of Helena; a daughter, Rebecca (Tim) Weinfeld of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two brothers, Howard E. (Norma) Smith of Mishawaka, Ind., and John H. (Elizabeth) Smith of Greenfield, Ind.; a sister, Mary Katherine Kase of Mishawaka, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Smith and Aislyn Weinfeld.
Private family services will be held in Indiana.

AUDREY C. WATERMAN, 75, died at 5:45 p.m. April 20, 2003, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Wapakoneta to Lionel and Leota Meyers Botkin, who preceded her in death. On June 7, 1947, she married
James O. Waterman, who survives.
Mrs. Waterman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. She was a graduate of Blume High School, Wapakoneta. She enjoyed traveling, her dogs, reading and playing the guitar.
Survivors also include three sons, Mike (Joan) Waterman, Robert (Susan) Waterman and Scott Waterman, all of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Devra (Jim) Brannan of Wapakoneta and Suzy (Scott) Price of Columbus; and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Botkin; and a sister, Electa Borges.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Rev. Thomas Morrison will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Wapakoneta.

JOHN M. FORTMAN, 51, died at 8:40 p.m. Aug. 10, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. The Rev. Ronald Wilker will officiate. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth cemetery, Coldwater.

Spencerville
DAVID HAROLD GOODRICH Jr., 41, formerly of Petoskey, Mich., died the afternoon of Aug. 9, 2003, at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1962, in South Haven, Mich., to David Harold and Barbara Traxler Goodrich Sr. His father and stepmother, David and Shirley Goodrich Sr., survive in Bowling Green, Ky. His mother and stepfather, Barbara and William Couture, survive in Petoskey, Mich. On May 18, 2002, he married
Lisa Marie Mann Smith, who survives in Spencerville.
Mr. Goodrich had worked at Flex-Foam Co., Spencerville. He was a 1982 graduate of Petoskey High School. He attended North Central Michigan College. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors also include a son, Gordon Goodrich of Harbor Springs, Mich.; a stepson, Damian "D.J." Smith of Spencerville; two daughters, Candice Banwell of Alanson, Mich., and Lynette Goodrich of Harbor Springs, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Nicole Smith of Spencerville; three brothers, Troy (Jennifer) Goodrich of Petoskey, Mich., Chad Goodrich of Birmingham, Ala., and Bruce Goodrich, serving in the Marine Corps; four sisters, Cara Couture of Petoskey, Mich., Pamela Goodrich of Lexington, Ky., and Jessie Goodrich and Pansy Goodrich, both of Bowling Green, Ky.; his father- and stepmother-in-law, Wesley and Carolyn Mann of Spencerville; and his mother-in-law, Rosemary Hirn of Defiance.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amanda Baptist Church on Conant Road. The Rev. Mike Decker will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Lake View cemetery, South Haven, Mich.

MARJORIE ELLEN HARLAN, 60, died at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 10, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 17, 1943, in Hamilton to John Franklin Konst and Betty Jane Green Newland, who preceded her in death. On Jan 17, 1965, she married
James C. Harlan, who survives.
Mrs. Harlan was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos. She enjoyed her grandchildren and genealogy.
Survivors also include a son, David A. (Lisa) Harlan of Delphos; a daughter, Christina M. (Wolfgang) Von Holstein of Waldoboro, Maine; two brothers, Karl Konst of Vero Beach, Fla., and C. Wayne (Ruth) Konst of Albuquerque, N.M.; and three grandchildren, Jacklyn Nicole Winegardner, Cynthia Marie Harlan and Megan Rose Harlan.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
