DOROTHY P. BELL, 88, died at 7:22 p.m. Oct. 5, 2003, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born March 6, 1915, in Bluffton to Scott and Emma Burkholder Edinger, who preceded her in death. On April 12, 1941, she married
Harold T. Bell, who died July 12, 1998.
Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and had worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bluffton. She was a member of the Bluffton Senior Citizens. She was a graduate of Mount Cory High School.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Gary) Inkrott of Continental; a sister, Betty (Wesley) Sommers of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Paula (Lee) Davidson, Tara (Joel) Kleinhen and Heather Hartman; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Metheney; five brothers, Howard, Robert, Norman, Ralph and Harry Edinger; and a sister, Opal Hoffer.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel. The Rev. Donald L. Clinger will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Bluffton.

Lima
WILLIAM BLASÉ BRUNO, 76, died at 4:01 p.m. Oct. 5, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Lima to Humberto and Caterina Pisanelli Bruno, who preceded him in death. In 1947, he married
Phyllis Phillips, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Bruno retired as an upholsterer from Sheller-Globe/Superior Coach. He had also been an Ohio High School Athletic Association football and basketball referee and had been an umpire for baseball and softball for several years. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. In 1995, he was inducted into the OHSAA Hall of Fame and in 2002, into the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Honor. He was a Navy veteran serving from June 17, 1944, to Nov. 3, 1954, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing.
Survivors also include two sons, Michael (Arlene) Bruno of Auburndale, Fla., and Blase (Stephanie) Bruno of Dublin; two daughters, Judith Robinson of Elida and Andrea (Mark) Lutz of Lima; two brothers, Virgil Bruno of Lima and Paul Bruno of Wapakoneta; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marion, Guy and Patrick Bruno.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gethsemani cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

Defiance
ALFREDO G. CASTILLO, 85, died at 6:15 a.m. Oct. 6, 2003, at Defiance Regional Medical Center, Defiance.
He was born March 13, 1918, in Brownsville, Texas, to Ignacio and Nickolasa Garza Castillo Sr. In 1962, he married
Maria Villarreal, who survives.
Mr. Castillo retired in 1987 as a laborer from General Motors, after 36 years, and was a Latino disc jockey for WBNO radio in the early 1960s. He was co-founder of the Latin-American Club, a member of United Auto Workers Local 211 and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3360 Dads Club.
Survivors also include four sons, Mario Gonzalez, Pablo "Paul" Castillo and Gilbert Martinez, all of Defiance, and Erasmo Gonzalez of New Haven, Ind.; four daughters, Judy Tovar of Defiance, Esmeralda (Richard) Cottman of Lima, Elizabeth (Jon) Edwards of Elida and Patricia Castillo of Easley, S.C.; three brothers, Jose Castillo and Ignacio Castillo II, both of Brownsville, Texas, and Eliseo "Chao" Castillo of Donna, Texas; two sisters, Eulalia Barrera and Aurora Page, both of Brownsville, Texas; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alfredo Castillo Jr.; and two brothers, Pablo Leal and Hilario Castillo Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Defiance. The Rev. Tim Kummerer will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Defiance County.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Wapakoneta
DAVID A. DEAL, 15, died at 1:47 p.m. Oct. 5, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born April 5, 1988, in Lima to James and Peggy Ickes Deal. His father and stepmother, Melissa Deal, survive in Wapakoneta. His mother also survives in Wapakoneta.
David was a sophomore at Wapakoneta Senior High School. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed music and played the guitar and drums at the same time.
Survivors also include a brother, Jamie Deal of Wapakoneta; a sister, Carey (Chris) Zaborowicz of Largo, Fla.; a half sister, Amber (Mike) Holbrook of Lima; a stepsister, Amalie Cummins of Wapakoneta; maternal grandparents, Dale and Helen Carlson and John and Loraine Ickes, all of Wapakoneta; and several friends.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Marjorie Deal.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Revs. Jeanette Rode and Rich Biclawski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Wapakoneta.

THOMAS D. EVANS, 66, died at 8 p.m. Oct. 5, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Wapakoneta to John C. and Rose Mary C. Tschour Evans, who preceded him in death. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, Florence Elliott, who preceded him in death. On July 7, 1990, he married
Sandra S. Nuss, who survives.
Mr. Evans retired as a truck driver from Roeder Cartage, Lima, and Schwerman Trucking, after 30 years. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, and frequently attended Reigning Word Fellowship, Norwalk, and Riveria Community Church, Foley, Ala. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta, and a former member of the Wapakoneta Rescue Squad. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, watching car races and his grandchildren.
Survivors also include five sons, Eric Evans of Clover, S.C., Aaron (Jessica) Evans of Chino Hills, Calif., Scott (Kristine) Nuss and D.J. Nuss, both of Wapakoneta, and Darin Evans of Tempe, Ariz.; three daughters, Bev (Jerry) Rockwell of Norwalk and Becky Gruebmeyer and Beth (Joe) Ward, both of Wapakoneta; four brothers, Jim (Betty) Kinninger of Botkins, Jack (Sue) Evans and Donald W. Evans, both of Wapakoneta, and James (Jenny) Evans of Washington Court House; four sisters, Francis Market of Botkins, Constance Burgess and Patricia (Don) Shroyer, both of Wapakoneta, and Diane Talbot of Marietta; and 20 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and a great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tami Evans; three brothers, Robert Kinninger Sr., Isadore Tschour and Jerry Evans; and a sister, Janet Sanders.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Revs. Steven Nelson and Ernest Robles will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Wapakoneta.

Lima
BERTHA J. FULTZ, 86, died at 1:55 p.m. Oct. 5, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born July 1, 1917, in Indianapolis. She married
Donald E. Fultz Sr., who survives.
Mrs. Fultz retired in 1977 as a waitress from The Range Restaurant and had worked at several other restaurants. She was a member of the Delphos Area Car Club, the Toledo Pontiac Car Club, the Southern Ohio Buckeye Car Club and had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. She enjoyed traveling and polka dancing. She was an avid bingo player and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Survivors also include a son, Donald E. Fultz Jr. of Lima; three brothers, George Mitchell of Cincinnati, Gus Mitchell of Richmond, Ind., and Paul Mitchell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two grandchildren, David Fultz and Dawn Fultz.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Nick Mitchell.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Lakeview
ICLE L. KEATING, 101, died Oct. 4, 2003, at The Inn of Chestnut Hill, Columbus.
She was born July 20, 1902, in Lakeview to Willard and Mary Elizabeth Pugh Reed, who preceded her in death. On April 11, 1921, in Lakeview, she married
Wilbur M. Keating, who died Oct. 3, 1964.
Mrs. Keating had been a nurse at the Lima State Hospital for 21 years. She was a charter member of Chapter 459 Order of Eastern Star, Bellefontaine.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary L. Hanger of Indian Lake; a brother, Kenneth A. (Florence) Reed of Westminster; two sisters, Cleola Jenkins of Lakeview and Helen V. Norviel of Lewistown; four grandchildren, James W. Hanger, Cynthia L. Apple, John Joseph Keating and Patrick Keating; and 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John W. Keating; two brothers, Wilford and Glenn Reed; and a sister, Ople Shoffner.
Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff. Burial will be in Walnut Hill cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.
