Harrod
MARCELLA M. DUER, 81, died at 10:20 p.m. Jan. 8, 2006, at Lost Creek Care Center.
She was born Aug. 6, 1924, in St. Johns to Jesse E. and Anna C. Schuler Rupert, who preceded her in death. On May 10, 1946, she married
James Albert Duer, who died June 19, 1995.
Mrs. Duer was a homemaker and had worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Joliet Store. She was a member of Westminster Christian United Church of Christ, Westminster, and its ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed painting, writing poetry and her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (David) Meeker of Lafayette and Petrina (Melvin) Hanes of Harrod; two stepdaughters, Jean (Lee) Dorsten of St. Marys and Jannes (Vinnie) Emrich; a sister-in-law, Beaulah Rupert of Elida; and 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Rupert; a sister, Edna Mewhorter; two half brothers, Everett and Clarence Line; and a half sister, Mary Line.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Chapel. The Rev. Gale Gebhart will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery, Harrod.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lima
CECIL EVANS Jr., 73, of Rotonda West, Fla., formerly of Lima, died at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 5, 2006, at Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, Fla.
He was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Cecil and Pearl Partin Evans Sr., who preceded him in death. On July 25, 1955, he married
Lauretta J. Mason, who survives in Rotonda West, Fla. They had been married
for 50 years.
Mr. Evans had been an administrator for the building and zoning department for the city of Lima. He had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Lima. He was a member of the American Legion of Florida. He was a local musician. He was an Army veteran, serving from Oct. 16, 1952, to Sept. 30, 1954.
Survivors also include three sons, Hillery Doc (Mary Beth) Evans of Lima, Brett Alan (Erin) Evans of Northport, Fla., and Scott Owen Evans of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Cindy Rose (Ray) Vezina and Katherine Faye "Kitty" (Rick) Jennings, both of Lima; a sister, Christine (Jack) Arthur of Lima; two brothers, Jerry (Linda) Evans of Harrod and Robert (Carol) Evans of Ada; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Keith Evans.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Weaver will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Delphos
PAMELA LEIDY JACKSON, 50, died at 5:25 p.m. Jan. 8, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 22, 1955, in Lima to Willard and Helen Lloyd Leidy, who preceded her in death. On June 19, 1976, she married
Herb Jackson, who survives.
Mrs. Jackson was a teacher at Elida Elementary for 29 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos. She was a member of the Elida Education Association. Teaching was a very important in her life. She loved teaching and her students very much. She loved gardening, the beach and playing with her grandson.
Survivors also include three daughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Betts of Lima, Kathleen (Aaron Halsley) Jackson of Toledo and Kimberly Jackson of Delphos; a sister, Patricia (Dan) Meeks of Lima; a brother Michael (Sally) Leidy of Lima; a grandson, Garrett Wibbder; and five nephews.
Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Cridersville
VIRGINIA MAE KOHLER, 81, of Atlanta, formerly of Cridersville, died at 10:58 p.m. Jan. 8, 2006, at Hospice of Atlanta.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima.

ZENITH LONGWORTH, 93, died at 8:07 p.m. Jan. 8, 2006, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home, Wapakoneta.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Knoxville United Methodist Church, New Knoxville. The Rev. Brian Vinson will officiate. Burial will be in the Evangelical Protestant cemetery, New Knoxville.

HELEN L. MEYER, 94, died at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 7, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. today at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina. The Rev. Bruce Strine will officiate. Burial will be in North Grove cemetery, Celina.

Lima
FREIDA "FRITZ" MINKIN, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Lima, died Jan. 8, 2006, at her residence.
Her husband of 35 years, Ben Minkin, survives.
Mrs. Minkin was a longtime volunteer in the gift shop at St. Rita's Medical Center and enjoyed volunteering at the Lima Convalescent Home. She was a member of the Temple Beth Israel Shaare Zedek Sisterhood. Her family loved her deeply and will miss her.
Survivors also include two daughters, Ellen Minkin of Kent and Kathy Minkin of Westerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shaare Zedek cemetery, Columbus. Rabbi Sol Oster will officiate.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Beth Israel Shaare Zedek, Lima.

Scottsdale, Ariz.
CARL DONALD OSBORNE, 88, died Jan. 6, 2006.
He married
Rachel I. Swanson, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Osborne was an Army veteran of World War II. He had lived in Arizona for more than five years and had also lived in Ohio and Indiana.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy R. (Thomas L.) Smith of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Linda C. (Anthony) Lucchese of Las Vegas; a brother, Bill Osborne of Akron; five grandchildren, Craig T. Smith of Leawood, Kan., Sheri R. Miller of Farmington Hills, Mich., Anthony C. Lucchese and Nick A. Lucchese, both of Nevada City, Calif., and Gino A. Lucchese of Boulder, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Brooke R., Whitney R. and Parker J. Miller and Courtney N., Christin O. and Madelaine R. Smith.
