BURNIS N. FARTHING, 88, formerly of Leipsic, died at 1 p.m. April 30, 2006, at her residence.
She was born June 24, 1917, in Hamler to Joseph C. and Maude E. Stevenson Miley, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 1, 1939, she married
Burdette E. Farthing, who died July 21, 1992.
Mrs. Farthing was a homemaker. She attended Westview Methodist Church, Cridersville, and had been a member of First Christian Church, Leipsic.
Survivors include two sons, Donald B. (Carol) Farthing of Leipsic and Dennis D. (Carol) Farthing of Ottawa; three daughters, Joyce E. (James) Stover of Reno, Nev., Janice B. (special friend Dave Lowery) Frantz of Cridersville and Janeen J. (Dale) Elliott of Ottawa; and 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Doris Copas, Gladys Casteel, Mamie Lieb and Opal Riebesehl; and three brothers, Marion, Burl and Clifford Miley.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic. Pastor Tim Eding will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge cemetery, Leipsic.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Lima
THERESA A. GOEDDE, 60, died April 30, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Marion to Andrew and Mary Pearson Jackson, who preceded her in death. On March 22, 1969, she married
Joseph T. Goedde, who survives.
Mrs. Goedde was blessed by touching the hearts of the many children she baby-sat throughout the years. She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by many, especially her immediate family.
Survivors also include a daughter, Ann E. (Thomas) Fischer; two grandchildren, Emma and Hunter Fischer; five stepgrandchildren; three brothers, David Jackson of Bowling Green, Harold (Carole) Jackson of Lima and Richard Jackson of Columbus; five sisters, Fran (John) Kelly of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., Kay (Richard) Micheli of Upper Sandusky, Gloria Shaw of Altoona, Pa., Mary (Joseph) Fulton of Caledonia and Juanita (Michael) Scott of Cincinnati; and two brothers-in-law, Tim (Sue) Goedde and Ben (Connie) Goedde, both of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Jackson.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

ROBERT D. JORDAN, 82, died at 10:30 p.m. April 30, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.

NORMAN P. "SAM" MARTIN, died at 4:14 p.m. April 26, 2006, at his residence.

LAWRENCE W. MILLER, 87, died at 10:40 p.m. April 29, 2006, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa.
He was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Van Wert to William and Christina Fischer Miller, who preceded him in death. On June 7, 1947, he married
Helen Metzger, who survives in Continental.
Mr. Miller retired Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, after 39 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1219, Lima, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3740, Ottoville, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos, and American Legion Post 541, Continental. He was an Army veteran World War II.
Survivors also include three sons, Ralph Miller of Bluffton, Kevin Miller of Continental and William Miller of Lima; a daughter, Janice Okuley of Continental; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Elaine Miller; a son-in-law, Reginald Okuley; a brother, Herbert Miller; and two sisters, Evelyn Weber and Alma Philo.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rev. John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery, Ottoville, with military rites by the VFW Post 3740.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Cloverdale
ALBINUS L. "BEANS" MILLER, 74, died at 2:55 p.m. April 30, 2006, at VanCrest Health Center, Delphos.
He was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Putnam County to Benno and Mary Krietemeyer Miller, who preceded him in death. On June 6, 1953, he married
Martha M. Altenburger, who died Feb. 23, 1980. On Aug. 26, 1989, he married
Anna Mae Janka, who survives in Cloverdale.
Mr. Miller retired as a time keeper from the state of Ohio and as an accountant from Clark Equipment. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale, where he had served as a councilmember. He had been a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, where he had served as secretary of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Kalida Lions Club, the Kalida Fish and Game Club, where he was treasurer for 23 years, the Kalida Knights of Columbus and the Cloverdale Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the Putnam County Townships Association, the National Rifle Association, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, AARP, the Continental Sons of American Legion, the Ottawa Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Glandorf Rod and Gun Club and Pheasants Forever. He was a social member of the Ottoville Veterans of Foreign Wars, served as president of the Public Employees Retirement System for 13 years, served as clerk of Union Township for 24 years and served as president of the Kalida PTA. He was a graduate of Northwestern School of Commerce, Lima.
Survivors also include a son, Alan (Rita) Miller of Kalida; four daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Schroeder of Glandorf, Linda (Dan) Smith of Spencerville, Kathy (Carl) Renner of Landeck and Sandra (Craig) Fortman of Kalida; three stepsons, Steve Janka and Tom (Janet) Janka, both of Kalida, and Ken Janka of Cloverdale; a stepdaughter, Sue (Rod) Beining of Ottoville; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren; a brother, Ralph Miller of Michigan; a sister, Norma Conner of Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. Fathers Scott Kramer and Robert Kill will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a K. of C. rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today and a Scripture service at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

DOROTHY LENORE NICHOLS, 97, died at 12:20 a.m. May 1, 2006, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
