MILDRED D. "MILLIE" STALEY FUHRER, 62, died at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 4, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born May 4, 1941, in Westbourne, Tenn., to Estel Vackmond and Mae Edith Jones, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 6, 1986, she married
Daniel L. Fuhrer, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Fuhrer was a homemaker. She had worked at D-Jay's Bar, Cridersville, for 10 years. She enjoyed fishing and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors also include three sons, Lenny (Barb) Staley of Harrod, Bill Randolph of Westbourne, Tenn., and Les (Betty) Staley of Lima; four daughters, Kandy (Steve) Boggs, Jackie Myers, and Penny (Terry) Law, all of Lima, and Amiee Staley of Frankfort, Ky.; three brothers, Earl Vackmond Jones of St. Marys, Larry Wayne Jones of Duff, Tenn., and Danny Ray Jones of Westbourne, Tenn.; nine sisters, Shirley Ann Market of Caryville, Tenn., Bobbie Sue Parker and Debra Mae Jones, both of Duff, Tenn., Lois Faye Webb, Geraldine Steakley, and Lora Lee Spradlin, all of Westbourne, Tenn., Jean Loretta Jones of LaFollette, Tenn., Kimberly Lynn Roberts of Springville, Ind., and Edna Deloris Ell of Lima; and 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leslie Staley, and two brothers, Charles Henry and Lonnie Edward Jones; and a sister, Clara Jane Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Gomer
HELEN MARIE RENNER LEWIS, 81, died at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 4, 2003, at Shawnee Manor, Lima.
She was born July 16, 1922, in Putnam County to Oscar and Jessie M. Caskey Renner, who preceded her in death. She married
Richard E. Lewis, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Lewis retired from the Commercial Bank. She was an active member of Gomer United Methodist Church, the Lima Elks Club, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Welsh Society of Northwest Ohio. She loved butterflies and her family.
Survivors include two sons, Kyle (Sharon) Lewis of Lima, and Lyle (Lynette) Lewis of Elida; a daughter, Carla (John) Olds of Lima; a brother, John H. Renner of Elida; four sisters, Methel Benroth of Bluffton, Mary (David) Humphreys of Elida, Marjorie (Thomas) Bourne of Arizona, and Norma (Lewis) Martz of Cairo; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Orman Renner.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gomer United Church of Christ. The Rev. Brian Knoderer and youth pastor Adam Lewis, Helen's grandson, will officiate. Burial will be in Pike Run cemetery, Gomer.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Gomer United Church of Christ, Gomer Welsh Community Museum or the Butterfly House at Children's Garden at the Allen County Museum.

Van Wert
ROLLAND I. PRATT, 81, died at 5:49 a.m. Aug. 5, 2003, at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Rob Ratliff will officiate. Burial will be in Woodville Township cemetery, Woodville.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Ottoville
VELMA C. RICKER, 86, died at 4:45 a.m. Aug. 5, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born July 29, 1917, in Putnam County to John and Rosina Rahrig Hohlbein. On June 7, 1938, she married
John H. Ricker, who died Feb. 27, 1997.
Mrs. Ricker retired as a cook from Delphos Memorial Nursing Home. She had also been a cook for Paradise Oaks Nursing Center, Cloverdale, Jim's Restaurant, Delphos, and the Dew Drop Inn, Ottoville. Prior to being married
, she had been a nurse practitioner for Dr. Bollander.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She taught religious education in the elementary school for more than 25 years and sang in the choir for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Miraculous Medal Association.
Survivors include a son, John A. Ricker of Ottoville; a daughter, Arlene A. (Robert) Kortokrax of Ottoville; and 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jane Ricker.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rev. Tony Borgia will officiate. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Ottoville, where a parish wake service will be held at 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made toward Masses or the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Delphos
WILLIAM STEWART RIDENOUR, 43, died at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 1, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born June 27, 1960, in Lima to Richard W. and Elizabeth Joann Stewart Ridenour, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Ridenour was employed at Beining Contractors and was an avid fisherman. He was greatly loved by many friends and family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are four brothers, David K. (Patricia) Ridenour Sr., Richard Dale Ridenour and Steven A. Ridenour, all of Lima, and Thomas E. (Sandy) Ridenour of Delphos; a sister, Jo Ellen (Rick) Johnson of Lima; a paternal uncle, Donald Ridenour of Lima; three paternal aunts, Mary Margaret Baber and Mildred Ridenour, both of Lima, and Geraldine Beery of Columbus; a maternal aunt, Mary Jane Robinson of Lima; and several cousins, nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
Services will be 8:30 a.m. today at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday at the funeral home.
Wapakoneta
SUZANNE M. CARRIG SMITH, 48, of New Albany, Ind., died at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 5, 2003, at her parents' residence in Wapakoneta.
She was born July 24, 1955, in Highland Park, Mich., to Thomas R. and Mary Ann Rakocsy Carrig, who survive in Wapakoneta. On April 25, 1975, she married
Paul E. Smith Jr., who survives in New Albany.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and worked in the office of Pine View Elementary School, New Albany. She was a 1973 graduate of Bentley High School, Livonia, Mich. She was a loving and devoted mother who was very involved with her children's school activities.
Survivors also include two sons, Steven Smith and Jason Smith, both at home; two daughters, Kari Smith and Lauren Smith, both at home; two brothers, Thomas (Penny) Carrig and Tim (Robin) Carrig, both of Kenton; three sisters, Kathleen (Dorance) Thompson of Cridersville, Mary (Jerry) Beech of Wapakoneta, and Theresa (Jose) Guillen of Houston; her father-in-law, Paul E. Smith Sr. of Fort Myers, Fla.; her mother-in-law, Kathleen Michaud of Marquette, Mich.; three sisters-in-law, Deborah DeGire and Angela Wasko, both of South Lion, Mich., and Rebecca Smith of Chicago; and several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Carrig.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Rev. John Dyer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ottawa
MARGENE J. YOUNG TURDO, 82, died at 9:10 a.m. Aug. 2, 2003, at Putnam Acres Care Center. She was born March 11, 1921, in Leipsic to John E. and Grace Blauvelt Young, who preceded her in death. She married
John Turdo, who died Feb. 25, 1972.
Mrs. Turdo was a secretary for various businesses. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Leipsic. She spent the majority of her life in North Hollywood, Calif., and returned to Putnam County in the early 1990s.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Wilkins of Gainsville, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Richard Estey of Gainsville, Ga.; a niece, Suze (Jake) Cox of Ottawa; and several other nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Serge and Clyde Young; three sisters, Oleta Morman, Claudice Douglas and Virginia Estey.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. The Rev. Tim Eding will officiate.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
