SAMUEL T. STAMPER, 84, died at 3:50 a.m. Dec. 8, 2003, at Mount Carmel-St. Ann Medical Center, Westerville.
He was born May 30, 1919, in Rockford, Tenn., to D.B. and Lula Jordan Stamper, who preceded him in death. His adoptive parents, Roy and Ruth Cousin, preceded him in death. On July 14, 1973, he married
Dorothy J. Ray, who died Aug. 2, 1997.
Mr. Stamper retired from Philips Electronics after 15 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1911. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Richard E. (Ana) Lyons of Savannah, Ga., Ronald E. (Cherie) Ray of San Diego and Charles E. Ray of Lorain; a daughter, Doris J. (Tommy) Shears of Columbus; two stepsisters, Marzetta Dinkins of Fostoria and Betty Hyde of Tiffin; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Jimmy Lee Howell; and numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Ray; a brother, Clifford Stamper; a stepbrother, Kenneth Cousin; a stepsister, Vandetta Garvin; and his stepmother, Velma Cousin.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 1275.

Lisbon
VICTOR FRANK TAUCHER, 68, died the evening of Dec. 7, 2003, at Salem Community Hospital.
Services will begin at 11 am. Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, Lisbon. The Rev. Ted Ludwig will officiate. Burial will be in Lisbon cemetery, with military rites.

Delphos
ELISABETH K. VASQUEZ, 84, died at 7:21 p.m. Dec. 8, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 7, 1919, in Hesseldorf, Germany, to Peter and Maria Kline Kramer, who preceded her in death. In 1955, by the Maria Himmelfart Catholic Church in Washtersbach, Germany, she married
Lasaro R. Vasquez, who survives in Delphos.
Mrs. Vasquez was a homemaker. She loved bingo and Skip-Bo with her granddaughter. She loved her grandchildren.
Survivors also include two sons, Peter (Jeanenne) Vasquez of Delphos and Wolfgang (Marogret) Kramer of Altenstad, Germany; a daughter, Rosemarie Pimple of Munich, Germany; a brother, Hans (Ann) Kramer of England; two sisters, Maria K. (Carl) Hill and Helga (Veron) Gehart, both of Germany; five grandchildren, Lotha, Monfort and Bernad Kramer and Silvia and Mitchle Pimple; two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Patricia Vasquez; and two great-great-grandchildren, Troy David Smith and one who resides in Germany.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Konard, Joseph and a brother who was listed as missing in action in the East Zone; and three sisters, Alama K. and Lidia K. Kramer and Margrete K. Hesseldorf.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. The Rev. Thomas Gorman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

Delphos
SISTER MARY JOHNENE (RITA) WELLMANN, 75, died Dec. 8, 2003, at the Notre Dame Provincial Center, Toledo.
She was born July 17, 1928, to John and Irene Ricker Wellmann, who preceded her in death.
Sister Mary Johnene completed a long and very rich life in the service of the church. Her work took her on many assignments on behalf of others, and in carrying out that mission, she gave herself without reserve. She attended St. John elementary and high school in Delphos, where she was taught by the Sisters of Notre Dame. She left her position as a legal secretary two years after graduation and entered the Notre Dame Community in Toledo. She professed her vows in 1951 and began her work in education as a student and then as a teacher.
She loved her work in the classroom and in the various posts of administration: counselor, principal and consultant in the Diocesan schools office. In 1984, she became director of religious education in Fremont. In 1992, she joined the staff of St. Charles in Lima and became the director of religious education. Her most recent assignment was in her home parish, St. John in Delphos. She believed in a collaborative spirit in education and catechesis and was influential in the lives of many persons.
She also represented the diocese by serving on various committees including the Diocesan Court of Equity and by planning commissions for religious education institutes and other conventions.
She had taught in the following schools: St. Joseph, Fremont; St. Wendelin, Fostoria; St. Mary, Sandusky; and Central Catholic and Notre Dame Academy, Toledo. She received her PSE from Manse College Toledo and master's degrees from the University of Detroit and St. Charles Seminary, Philadelphia.
Survivors include three brothers, Elmer J. (Phyllis) Wellmann and John F. (Patricia) Wellmann, both of Delphos, and Francis J. "Frank" Wellmann of Lima; and a sister, Joan (James) Weger of Delphos.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Notre Dame Provincial Center, Toledo. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Toledo. A memorial Mass will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Notre Dame Provincial Center, 3837 Secor Road, Toledo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame.

JAMES V. GUSCHING, 39, died at 11:34 a.m. Feb. 15, 2004, at his residence.

BURTON B. HOBLET, 80, died at 1:50 a.m. Feb. 17, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Convoy United Methodist Church. The Rev. Greg Leigh will officiate. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery, Convoy.

PHYLLIS S. KORTOKRAX, 63, died at 11:42 a.m. Feb. 16, 2004, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Piqua to Philip and Charlotte Lines Hall, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 30, 1961, she married
Gerald Kortokrax, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Kortokrax was a homemaker and had retired as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Delphos. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She has now gone home to be with the Lord.
Survivors also include two sons, Phil (Joyce) Kortokrax of Findlay and Alan (Susan) Kortokrax of Niskayuna, N.Y.; four daughters, Kim (Mike) Little of Harrod, Lisa Mays and Cyndi (Darren Lepper) Hartsock, both of Lima, and Cheryl (Ron) Swisher of Delta; a sister, Virginia Bradley of Lima; and seven grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church, Delphos. The Revs. Dan Eaton and Marc Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos.
