DOROTHY J. POEPPELMAN, 80, died at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 9, 2006, at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. The Rev. Steven Shoup will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Lima
JOSEPH S. POTTER, 92, died Jan. 8, 2006, at Outlook Pointe Nursing Home.
He was born May 8, 1913, in Lima to William T. and Maude Mary Edgar Potter Sr., who preceded him in death. On March 14, 1979, he married
Wandalou Moody, who died April 4, 1979.
Mr. Potter retired as an electrician from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, after 31 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and the Lima Senior Citizens. He was an avid bowler in leagues at Northland Lanes and 20th Century Lanes. He was a member of the Senior Golf League at Colonial Hills Country Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Signal Corps.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Janalu Maxwell of Golden Valley, Minn., and Floann Crish of Hilliard; four nieces and nephews, John (Peggy) Potter of Lima, Sharon (Jim) England of Lake Wales, Fla., Thomas (Jan) Potter of Bluffton and Richard Potter of Lima; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Potter; and three brothers, Harold, William T. Jr. and John Potter
Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel, and one hour prior to services Friday in the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Glandorf
PAUL J. SCHROEDER, 83, died at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 9, 2006, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf.
He was born June 30, 1922, in Putnam County to George I. and Cecilia Bellman Schroeder, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 29, 1952, he married
Alfrieda Niese, who survives in Glandorf.
Mr. Schroeder retired as a farmer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, and its Men's Society. He was a member of American Legion Post 63 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9142, both in Ottawa. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors also include a daughter, Phyllis (Cy) Vorst of Glandorf; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Brent Vorst, both of Glandorf; and three sisters, Susanna Smith of Glandorf, Dorthea (Ray) Averesch of Kalida and Sarah Warnecke of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fidelis "Jim" Schroeder.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf. Father Harold Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 9142.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a VFW service will be held at 7 p.m.

Van Wert
JONATHAN L. LICHTENBERGER, 24, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Van Wert, died at 4:47 a.m. Jan. 10, 2006, at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Steve Waterman will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Van Wert.

Harrod
OLIVER R. AMSTUTZ, 94, died at 10:30 a.m. April 26, 2006, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
He was born Feb. 17, 1912, in Allen County to John and Rosina Henzi Amstutz, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 15, 1932, he married
Clara Wilson, who died Feb. 5, 1994.
Mr. Amstutz was a carpenter and farmer and had worked at Warner-Swazey, Lima. He was a member of Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. He was an avid coon hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include three sons, John (Edna) Amstutz of Wayne, Jerry (Shirley) Amstutz of Harrod and Jack (Ida) Amstutz of Lima; two daughters, Dolly (Ronald) Beach of Lima and Jean Ann (Rolla) Stratton of Cridersville; a son-in-law, William Randall Porter of Findlay; and 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Amstutz; two daughters, Joan Shanks and Beverly Porter; four brothers, Melvin, Albert, Noah and Jesse Amstutz; and six sisters, Ella Best, Mary Truax, Bessie Grant, Sue Wiedeman, Cleora Burkholder and Sarah Wellar.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton. The Rev. Harrison Underwood and the Rev. David Underwood will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Beaverdam.

ROBERT BRANNON GUMM, 37, died at 8:30 a.m. April 25, 2006, from injuries suffered in an auto accident near Wapakoneta.
He was born July 30, 1968, in Lima to Robert Darrell and Bettie Lou Kortier Gumm, who survive in West Chester.
Mr. Gumm was a heat and frost insulator of Local 41, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a member of Lima Community Church of the Nazarene. He loved to do clay sculpting and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. The joys of his life were his children.
Survivors also include three children, LaOnnie Lou Gumm, Elynn Mae Gumm and Johnie Ann Gumm, all of Lima; four brothers, Ted (Lou Ann) Gumm of Harrod, Jeff (Deborah) Shelly of Lima, the Rev. Russ (Kelly) Gumm of Xenia and Craig (Debbie) Gumm of Riddle, Ore.; two sisters, Teresa Rigdon of McCool, Miss., and Tina (Dan) Peters of Wapakoneta; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth Kortier of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a brother John Arden Gumm; and his grandparents, Ralph Kortier, Arden and Ann Gumm and Margaret Kohn.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Alger
MAUDIE HOWARD, 68, died at 8:18 a.m. April 26, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born Dec. 4, 1937, in Breathitt County, Ky., to Charlie and Dora Manns Clemons, who preceded her in death. On June 30, 1957, she married
Lebern Howard, who died Sept. 27, 1995.
Mrs. Howard was a football lacer at Wilson Sporting Goods, Ada, for 23 years. She attended Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger.
Survivors include a son, Delmer "Bub" (Sarah) Williams of Alger; a daughter, Donna (Mark) Conley of Alger; a stepson, Henry (Cheryl) Howard of McGuffey; two stepdaughters, Louise (Kenny) Morris of Mount Victory and Pauline (Jim) Seitz of Kenton; a brother, Elbert (Etta) Clemons of Alger; a sister, Polly (Jimmy) Manning of Means, Ky.; and six grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 21 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Becraft; and a brother, Albert Clemons.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. Pastor Robert Dye and the Rev. Tex Rowe will officiate. Burial will be in Preston cemetery, Alger.
