RALPH J. KOHLRIESER, 88, died at 8 p.m. Aug. 28, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Auglaize County to Urban N. and Josephine A. Schneider Kohlrieser, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 12, 1940, he married
Farrell J. Hittepole, who survives.
Mr. Kohlrieser was a lifelong farmer and had worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp., Lima, for 13 years. He was a life member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 1272, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691 and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1170, all in Wapakoneta. He was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445, American Legion Post 330 and AMVETS Post 333, all in Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and had been a volunteer with the Uniopolis Fire Department. He was a 1934 graduate of Cridersville High School.
Survivors also include five daughters, Judy (George) Steinke, Linda (Joe) Walter, Shirley (Rick) Schroeder, Mary (Mike) Ruppert and Cathy (George) Hengstler, all of Wapakoneta; two sons, Darryl (Sharon) Kohlrieser and Thomas (Nancy) Kohlrieser, both of Wapakoneta; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Catherine Koenig of Wapakoneta and Lillian Kohlrieser of Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Harold and Melvin Kohlrieser.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg. The Rev. Oscar Seger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta.

Lima
MARIETA S. REX, 62, died at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 28, 2006, at Lost Creek Care Center.
She was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Lima to Thomas V. and Mary M. Hefner Fetter. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Lima. On Aug. 16, 1968, she married
Bobby L. "Bob" Rex, who survives.
Mrs. Rex had been an accountant for E.S. Evans & Co., for 11 years. She was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors also include a son, Thomas J. "T.J." Rex of Lima; a daughter, Lynette Rex of Lima; and three sisters, Donna (Gary) Bowers of Elida, Norma (Jessie) Wilkins of Shady Grove, Fla., and Anita (Allen) Selden of Marion, Ind.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Union Chapel Missionary Church. The Rev. Mark Bayliff will officiate. Burial will be in Ward cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Chapel, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union Chapel Missionary Church or the American Kidney Foundation.
Oakwood
IMOGENE RISLEY, 86, died at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 28, 2006, at her daughter's residence in Tiffin.

Cridersville
JACK E. "PAPA" SADDLER Sr., 73, of Cleburne, Texas, formerly of Cridersville, died at 6:35 a.m. Aug. 10, 2006, in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Lima to Russel E. Saddler and Marietta Huffman Saddler Sassi, who preceded him in death. On April 13, 1984, he married
Carol Sue Busby, who survives in Cleburne, Texas.
Mr. Saddler had been a truck driver for several years. He was a member of American Legion Post 50, Cleburne, Texas, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Alvarado, Texas, and the National Trucking Association. He was an Air Force veteran. He had also lived in Waynesfield.
Survivors also include a son, Jack E. (Tammy Richey) Saddler Jr. of Corsicana, Texas; a granddaughter, Alexis (Clinton) Franklin of Florida; a great-grandson, Devon of Florida; a stepson; three stepgrandchildren; two brothers, John A. Sassi and Larry D. (Louise) Sassi, both of Lima; a sister, Carol E. Sassi Ward of Lima; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and the mother of his sons, Dorothy Stoddard Staley of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel K. Saddler, who had lived in Wapakoneta and died July 22, 1985; and a stepson.
Graveside services were held Aug. 15 in Dallas-Fort Worth National cemetery, with military rites.
Delphos
CARROLL J. TEMAN, 53, died at 2:17 a.m. Aug. 29, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. Father Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos, with military rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Friends may call from noon until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Lima
PHILIP B. HEFNER, 70, died at 9:55 a.m. Dec. 19, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 18, 1936, in Lima to Perry F. and Inez L. Luke Hefner, who preceded him in death. On May 28, 1959, he married
Janice L. Crites, who survives.
Mr. Hefner retired in 1997 as a final inspector from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, after more than 39 years. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He coached midget football for 17 years. He was an Army veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors and especially working on his farm. He loved being with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Survivors also include two sons, Mark E. Hefner and Jeffrey B. Hefner, both of Lima; a daughter, Lisa B. (Jeff) McVicker, of Lafayette; a brother, Warren H. Hefner; a sister, Barbara (Louie) Daley, of Lima; and 11 grandchildren, Brooke Hefner, Andy Hefner, Jessica Hefner, Sean Hefner, Emily Mann, Linsey Mann, McKenzie Mann, Jefferson McVicker, Madison McVicker, Kyleigh Hefner and Kayla Hefner.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel C. Hefner; and a sister-in-law, Pat Hefner.
Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lima
ALONZA CHARLES LUSTER Jr., 57, died at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 18, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Lima to Alonza Charles and Loretta Jackson Luster Sr. His father and stepmother, Ila Luster, survive in Cleveland. His mother, Loretta McDonald, preceded him in death. He married
Mattie Forest, who died Jan. 19, 2000.
Mr. Luster had been a forklift operator at Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1219.
Survivors also include four sons, Shondale M. Luster, Alonza C. (Christina) Luster III, Shannon L. Jackson and LaQuint C. Luster, all of Lima; two daughters, Ruth I. Luster-Moore, of Lima, and LaDonna V. Luster, of Cleveland; 25 grandchildren; eight brothers, Craig (Audrey) McDonald, Steve McDonald, Richard McDonald and Michael McDonald, all of Lima, Mark McDonald, of Chicago, Jerome (Harvetta) Luster, of Cleveland, Rilous Luster, of Lima, and Lewis (Lori) Luster, of Cleveland; and two sisters, Debra Hall, of Lima, and Tracy (Leroy) Welch, of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Early McDonald; and a sister, Druiscilla Luster.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. David J. Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
St. Marys
JESSIE MAY MECHLING, 87, died Dec. 16, 2006, at Patrician Health Care Center, North Royalton.
She was born May 7, 1919, in Gomer to Hugh and Grace Manuel Griffith, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 15, 1940, she married
Harold E. Mechling, who died July 26, 1979.
Mrs. Mechling retired as a registration clerk in the emergency department from Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She and her husband had owned and operated Harold's Flowers, St. Marys, for several years. She was a longtime member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the St. Marys Music Club. She was a graduate of Gomer High School. She was especially proud of her Welsh heritage and her many travels were highlighted with a trip to Wales. Her great-grandchildren called her "Mamge."
Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Malcolm) Baumgardner, of North Royalton, and Mari-Ellen (Dennis) Bobel, of Plymouth, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Mechling, of Van Wert; eight grandchildren, Amy, Beth, Gretchen, Aaron, Erika, Matthew, Eric and Bradley; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Michael, Hannah, Megan, Joey, Tommy, Nicholas, Gwendolyn and Sydney; a sister, Nina Redmon, of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Mary Griffith, of Levittown, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Mechling, who died in 1994; two brothers, Percy "Jerry" and Paul Griffith; and two sisters, Margaret Kizer and Norma McGuire.
Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery, St. Marys.
