Died: Sunday, August 19, 2001
GLOUSTER -- Tamara Lee Tammy Cain, 35, of Glouster, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Nelsonville on April 26, 1966, she was the daughter of Karen L. Edge Cain-Jeason of Arkansas and the late Lloyd W. Cain Jr.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her longtime companion, Steve Ferrell of Glouster; her grandmother, Betty Cain, and an aunt, Debbie Cain, both of Glouster, who raised her; brothers, Sonny (Faith Wilson) Cain and Rich (Tonia C. Taylor) Cain, both of Glouster; an uncle, Larry (Sharon) Cain of Naples, Fla.; her maternal grandmother, Ella M. Miller of Zephyrhills, Fla.; an uncle and an aunt, Ted Edge and Diane Edge, both of Michigan.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lloyd Cain; and an aunt, Candy Cain.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home in Murray City, Rev. Jane A. Doughton officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Gladys Hill
Died: Sunday, August 19, 2001
ATHENS -- Gladys P. Hill, 94, of North Augusta, S.C., formerly of Athens, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, in North Augusta.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m., at West Union Street Cemetery. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens.
Bernice Ohman
Died: Sunday, August 19, 2001
WELLSTON -- Bernice C. Ohman, 83, of Wellston, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Facility in Wellston.
She was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Minnesota, daughter of the late Carl Otto and Ida Soderstrom Johnson. She was a retired teacher and librarian for public schools. Bernice received a bachelors degree of education in math and science from the University of Minnesota, and pursued a second degree in library science in 1963. She taught math and science in Bagley, Minn., for a few years before marrying. She quit teaching to raise her two children, returning to substitute teach as her children grew. She returned to work full time in 1963 in Golden Valley, Minn., as a librarian.
Bernice was an active church member her entire life, with her present church membership being at Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston. She also was an active member of Wellston Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Elizabeth Ohman of Rochester, Mich.; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Larry Stewart of McArthur; a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Monroe Killy of Minneapolis, Minn.; and grandchildren Erick Ohman and his wife, Bonnie, of Clinton Twp., Mich., and Brenda Ohman of Troy, Mich.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Ohman, in 1991.
At the request of Mrs. Ohman, her body was cremated. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 7 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, with the Rev. Glen Herman officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Jenkins Memorial Activities Fund, 142 Jenkins Memorial Road, Wellston, 45692; or Hope United Methodist Church Music Department, 217 E. First St., Wellston.
Goldie Bowles
Died: Saturday, August 18, 2001
THE PLAINS -- Goldie Annis Bowles, 101, of Columbus, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center in The Plains.
Born Jan. 11, 1900, in Paradise, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Bowles and Edna Bryson Bowles Story.
She taught school for 48 years in the Columbus City School District, was a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Columbus.
She is survived by two nephews, James and Raymond Barber; two nieces, Louise Collins and June Sycks; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mamie Beal; a nephew, Donald Barber; and a niece, Ada Ridenour.
Services will be held Tuesday, 3 p.m., at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with the Rev. Edward Jones officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services.
Sarah Graham

GUYSVILLE -- Sarah Naomi Graham, 77, of Guysville, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus.
Born Aug. 1, 1924, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and May Baxter Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orley Graham.
Mrs. Graham was a member of the Willed Body Program at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Graveside services will be held at a future date at Clarks Chapel Cemetery.
Sarah Graham

GUYSVILLE -- Sarah Naomi Graham, 77, of Guysville, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus.

She is survived by three sisters, Eudora Williams, Martha (Robert) Richardson and Marilyn Snedden; and two brothers, George (Catherine) Tucker and Ariel Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orley Graham; four brothers, Edward, Robert, Walter and Herbert; and three sisters, Margaret Campbell, Pauline Sands and an infant, Mary.

Margaret McDaniel-Henderson

MIDDLEPORT -- Margaret McDaniel-Henderson, 66, of Middleport, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, in Middleport.
Born Nov. 15, 1934, in Flatwoods, Meigs County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Opal Hollon Barr.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Clyde V. Henderson; a son, Paul McDaniel Jr.; a daughter, Joyce L. McDaniel Jacks; and a stepdaughter, Freda Walser.
Services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Fisher-Acree Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

George Rood

MIDDLEPORT -- The Rev. George Robert Rood, 73, of Ripley, W.Va., died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley.
Born Feb. 21, 1928, in Middleport, he was the son of the late Perry Uriah and Lillie Ann Shaver Rood.
He is survived by a son, Robert Rood; and a daughter, Rebecca Joyce Becky Stewart.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Casto Funeral Home in Evans, W.Va., with the Revs. Ferrell Rood and Clyde Syner officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Neal Cemetery, Milton, W.Va.

Franklin Saunders
Died: Saturday, August 18, 2001
LOGAN -- Franklin Delano Saunders Sr., 60, of Logan, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 3, 1941, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John and Jessie Wine Saunders.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Marie Giffin Saunders.
Services will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery, Falls Twp., Hocking County.

Patricia Taylor
Died: Saturday, August 18, 2001
ALBANY -- Patricia Darlene Taylor, 44, of Center Street in Albany, died unexpectedly at her home Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001.
She was born Jan. 12, 1957, in Athens, the daughter of Wilfred Dallas and Opal Ernestine Hudnall Sharpe of Athens. She was a homemaker and graduate of Athens High School.
Besides her parents she is survived by her husband, Jack Edward Taylor; a daughter Marenda Re'nee Taylor of the home; two sons Jack Edward and Joseph Dallas Taylor of the home; a grandson, Johnathan Lee Taylor and a granddaughter, Heidi Lynne Taylor; two brothers Charles Ernest (Mary) Sharpe of Millfield, and Bernard Dallas (June) Sharpe of Athens; two sisters, Sharon Delores Sharpe of Albany, and Wilma Diane Burkhart of New Marshfield; and a paternal grandmother Mae Sharpe of Athens.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Ernest Winfield and Desta Lenora McNutt Hudnall; paternal grandfather Charles Arthur Sharpe; an infant nephew, Charles Lucius Sharpe; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Arlene Taylor.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with Pastor Dave Cogar officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
