LOGAN -- Norma Wilson, 71, of Logan, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in Logan.
Born Oct. 5, 1930, in Logan, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Velma Lama Harsh. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. LeClain.
Services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery.

Pamela Hager
Died: Tuesday, July 9, 2002
COOLVILLE -- Pamela Sue Day Hager, 50, of Coolville, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at her home, following an extended illness.
Born Nov. 10, 1951, in Parkersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Hartman Day and Virginia Deem Day Meeker of Tuppers Plains.
She is survived by her mother, Virginia Meeker of Tuppers Plains; her husband of 32 years, Chester Bruce Hager of Coolville; two sons, Jason Hager and Joshua Hager; a daughter, Ashley Hager, all at home, and Amy Hager Markworth of Tuppers Plains; and two grandchildren, Timothy and Rachael Markworth. She also is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Betty Day of Guysville; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Frank Martin of Davisville, W.Va.; a half brother and sister-in-law, Gilford and Sally Rowley of Coolville; her mother-in-law, Arlie Pullins Hager of Coolville; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Hager of Marietta, and Rena and Harold Alexander of Logan; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and close friends Marcia Guess, Jill Holter and Joan Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Hartman Day; two sisters, Alma Day Marshall Hatfield and Mary Ellen Day; a niece, Cindy Marshall Bradshaw; her father-in-law, Kenneth Hope Hager; and several aunts and uncles.
Pamela was a homemaker and very talented. She enjoyed painting, crafting, sewing, cooking and canning. She graduated from Parkersburg South High School in the Class of 1970. She played the viola in orchestra and was a member of the Glee Club. She was involved in 4-H as a child and as an adviser in Meigs County for more than 15 years. She served on Eastern High School Athletic Boosters for more than 10 years, Band Boosters and PTA. She was a Cub Scout leader and helped with Girl Scouts. She was a longtime member of Tuppers Plains Fire Department and its auxiliary. She attended Walnut Street Church of Christ, Belpre.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, with Don Seevers officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery on old Route 7, Coolville.

Ruby Helber
Died: Tuesday, July 9, 2002
LOGAN -- Ruby K. Helber, 88, of Logan, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Columbus.
Born March 5, 1914, in Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Clarrisa Huffines. She is survived by sons Charles E. and Thomas A. Helber.
Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Burgess Schirtzinger
Died: Tuesday, July 9, 2002
GLOUSTER -- Burgess L. Schirtzinger, 69, of Glouster, formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville.
Born May 1, 1933, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Aaron H. and Helen Barklow Schirtzinger. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Boley Shirtzinger.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Cemetery, Columbus.

Joy Bobo
Died: Monday, July 8, 2002
ATHENS -- Joy Bobo of Athens died Monday, July 8, 2002, in her home, surrounded by her family, following an extended illness.
Born Jan. 17, 1925, in Mineral, she was the daughter of the late M.G. and Florence Shingler Woods. She retired in 1992 from the Athens County Auditor's Office after 21 years. She was a member of Athens Order of Eastern Star 175 and attended Alexander Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" R. Bobo Sr.; a daughter, Sue (Earl) Williard of New Marshfield; two sons, Richard "Rick" R. (Pam) Bobo Jr. and Brent Bobo, both of Athens; seven grandchildren, Doug Miller of Mineral, Diannah Miller of Athens, Dan (Marrianne) Bobo of Thornville, Jeremy (Mechele) Bobo of Moneta, Va., Cory (Lindi) Bobo of Bellville, Ill., Andrew Bobo of Athens, and Heather Bobo of Athens; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Miller of Albany and Anna Bobo of Thornville; a brother, Charles (Peg) Woods of Londonderry; a sister, Eileen Reighard of The Plains; and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Woods of New Marshfield.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Woods; and two sisters, Adrian Whaley and Ramona "Jill" Ward.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Pam Gaston, RN, VNA (Hospice), Dr. Allison Batchelor and Tina McClelland, RN, Ohio University Osteopathic Center.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Albany, with the Rev. Robert Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Shade Cemetery.

Retta Henderson
Died: Monday, July 8, 2002
McARTHUR -- Retta Agnes Gearing Henderson, 99, of Ashville, formerly of Vinton County, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at her daughter's residence in Ashville.
Born April 10, 1903, in Auglaize County, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Bessie Garver Gearing. She was a homemaker and a member of Allensville Christian Church.
She is survived by a son, Lester (Hazel) Henderson of DeLand, Fla.; a daughter, Garnet Swisher of Ashville; a brother, Ben Gearing of Allensville; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Henderson, on Oct. 4, 1976; and by three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, with the Rev. A.B. Maloy officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Timothy Glenn
Died: Sunday, July 7, 2002
VINTON -- Timothy Ray Glenn, 39, of Beaver, formerly of Vinton, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at the home of a special friend, Tammy Brown.
He was a 1981 graduate of Chapmanville High School in West Virginia and had been employed for the past 14 years at Mills Pride Inc. in Waverly. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 476 in Wilkesville and an honorary member of VFW Post 9942 in Beaver.
Tim was born Jan. 22, 1963, in Gallipolis, son of Judy Argabright Perry of Danville, W.Va., and the late Howard Glenn. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Glenn.
In addition to his mother and special friend, he is survived by a sister, Susan Hopkins of Huntersville, N.C.; two nieces, Natilie Abbott and Madison Hopkins of Huntersville; his maternal grandparents, Ish and June Argabright of Gallipolis; and many friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Vinton Baptist Church, with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will be in Vinton Memorial Park.

Steven Sauters
Died: Sunday, July 7, 2002
THE PLAINS -- Steven L. Sauters, 31, of The Plains, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Doctors Hospital of Nelsonville from injuries received in a hit-and-run accident.
Born April 4, 1971, in Athens, he was the son of the late Vaughn and Wilda Platt Sauters.
He is survived by a son, Steven E. Sauters of Millfield; a sister, Lavonna (Jack) Laughlin of Stewart; and two brothers, Leroy (Joyce) Sauters and Leon (Christine) Sauters, both of Pomeroy.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with John Elswick officiating. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery.

Anita Rutter
Died: Friday, July 5, 2002
ATHENS -- Anita Bertine Glass Rutter, 67, a former resident of Athens, passed away at her Florida home on Friday, July 5, 2002. She was the widow of the late Carlos E. Rutter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Ruth Darnell Glass; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Lee.
She leaves behind four children, Brenda (Darrell) Lee of Florida, David (Shelly) Rutter of Tuppers Plains, Shelia Buckley of Logan and Carla Howell of Athens. She had 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 10 stepgreat-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two brothers, Gary Glass of Florida and Joe Glass of Georgia.
There will be a family gathering in her honor and memory at Dow Lake, Strouds Run State Park, on Sunday, July 21, at 3 p.m. Friends are welcome.
Ethel White
Died: Friday, July 5, 2002
LOGAN -- Ethel L. White, 83, of Logan, died Friday, July 5, 2002, in Logan.
Born April 18, 1919, in Sewickley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Freda Studer Watenpool.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Lee, James S. and John E. White; and three daughters, Erma Swaim, Dorothy Fought and Elizabeth Bussard.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan. Burial will be in New Fairview Cemetery.
