Charles Allman
Died: Thursday, July 4, 2002
ALBANY -- Charles Clifton Allman, 37, of Albany, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 11, 1964, he was the son of Johnnie and Linda White Allman.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Hawkins Allman; two sons, Travis and Doc Allman; two brothers, Bob and Jimmy, and their families; two sisters, Christy Shay and Jeannie Martin, and their families; a grandmother, Edna Allman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services were held Sunday at Weaver Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Albany.
William Chapman
Died: Thursday, July 4, 2002
LANCASTER -- William Chapman, 81, of Lancaster, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Lancaster.
Born July 7, 1920, in Pliny, W.Va., he was the son of the late John and Grace Finly Chapman.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Plants Chapman; and daughters Barbara McGathey, Kay Waid and Jean Knapp.
Graveside services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., in Knollwood Cemetery, Hocking County.

Paul Kurlovech
Died: Thursday, July 4, 2002
MURRAY CITY -- Paul Kurolvech, 86, of Murray City, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at his residence.
Born Aug. 27, 1915, in Murray City, he was the son of the late Samuel and Thekla Petergram Kurolvech. He was a graduate of Murray City High School and a World War II Air Force veteran; retired in 1980 from the parts department of General Motors in Livonia, Mich.; and returned to Murray City after his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church in Buchtel, the VFW, Murray City American Legion Post 420 and Murray City Eagles Lodge 1044.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Catherine M. Hammer Kurolvech; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Elsie Kurolvech of Riverview, Mich., and many good friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George, Mike, John and Pete Kurolvech; sisters Mary Kurolvech and Anna Dunny; and a niece, Charlotte Mack.
Services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church in Buchtel, with the Rev. Fr. John Mucha officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Buchtel, with military graveside services conducted by the Combined Color Guard.
Friends may call at Brown Funeral Home in Murray City on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Christian wake will be held at 3:30 and an American Legion memorial service at 7.
Bobby Withem
Died: Tuesday, March 12, 2002
NELSONVILLE -- Bobby G. Withem, 70, of Nelsonville, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
Born July 31, 1931, in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Amos C. and Maxine Kinnison Withem. He formerly worked for the railroad.
He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Chester and Mary Withem, and Gay and Wilma Withem, all of Columbus; and sisters and brothers-in-law Welma and Alfred Darby of Trimble, Ruth Ann and Cary Mathias of Columbus, and Mary Margaret and Chuck McCall of Logan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Withem.
At Bobby's request, there will be no services or calling hours. Burial will held at a later date in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Murray City.
Clarice Beebe
Died: Monday, March 11, 2002
ATHENS -- Clarice G. Beebe, 91, of Dayton, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Maria Joseph Living Care Center after a long battle with cancer.
She was a native of Athens County and the daughter of the late Frank and Zoa Beebe. She was a 1928 graduate of Athens High School and worked at McBee Bindery until 1942, when she started her career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton. She retired after 29 years of federal service in June 1972. Miss Beebe was very active at Central Avenue Methodist Church in Athens and continued her worship at Grace United Methodist Church in Dayton.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Hamilton and Dorothy Haag; a brother, Harry Beebe; a niece, Cathy Brown; and a nephew, David Brown.
She is survived, and will be missed by her sister, Helen E. Brown of Arizona; an aunt, Bernice Romine of Athens; two cousins, Dr. Thomas Romine of Athens and the Rev. Philip Romine of Zanesfield; three nephews, Louis, Larry and Dick Hamilton; two nieces, Pamela Poe and Carol Ziegler; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 14 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Baker-Hazel Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Drive at North Main Street, Dayton, with the Rev. Philip Romine officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at West Union Streeet Cemetery in Athens.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Doris Bronson
Died: Saturday, March 9, 2002
ATHENS -- Doris Deeter Bronson, 80, of North Blackburn Road, Athens, went to be with her Lord late Saturday evening, March 9, 2002, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born April 23, 1921, in Coolville, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Julia Pullins Deeter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be missed by all. She was a lifelong resident of Athens and graduated from Troy High School in 1939. She was an active member of Richland United Methodist Church for 50 years and held numerous offices in the church. She was a member of United Methodist Women, a member and past board member of Senior Beat, and a member of Mall Walkers and PACE exercise class.
She is survived by two daughters, Julia Judy (Chuck) Woodall and Joyce Joy (Rick) Douglas of Athens; three granddaughters, Michelle Douglas and Ann (Ola) Cremeans of Athens, and Jill Douglas of Cape Cod, Mass.; a beloved great-grandson, Hayes Christian Cremeans of Athens; a sister, Virginia M. Gillilan of Gahanna; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Bronson; a brother, Donald S. Deeter; and an infant sister and nephew.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Richland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Norman Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Cemetery.

Beulah Hawkins

McARTHUR -- Beulah C. Hawkins, 72, of McArthur, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Born Aug. 13, 1929, in Spring Fork, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jennings and Cora Hodge Kincaid.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Frank Hawkins; and children Julia Wilson, Drema Harrison and Frank Hawkins.
Services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home in McArthur. Burial will be in Putnam Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m., where the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary will conduct services at 7:30.
Bryan Starkey

WELLSTON -- Bryan Dean Starkey, 20, of Wellston, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, in Belmont County.
Born June 22, 1981, in Athens, he was the son of Dean and Karen Hoy Starkey of Wellston.
Services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Jason R. Winters Funeral Chapel in Wellston. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.

Catherine Tigner
Died: Saturday, March 9, 2002
LOGAN -- Catherine M. Tigner, 75, of Logan, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at her residence.
Born May 28, 1936, in Malta, she was the daughter of the late Barney Hook and Mae Rutter Hook.
She is survived by sons Brad A. Congrove, Bobby Tigner and Kevin Tigner, and a daughter, Brenda Walker.

GALLIPOLIS -- Dustin Lee Rosser, infant son of Sarah E. Rutter Rosser and Dennis Lee Rosser Jr. of Radcliff, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Alyssa Rosser; a brother, Dennis Lee Rosser III; maternal grandmother Betty Clark of Allensville; paternal grandparents Dennis Sr. and Priscella Rosser of Radcliff; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held Sunday, 1 p.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home in Athens, with Pastor Jim McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Log Pile Church Cemetery, Allensville.
