RADCLIFF - Bessie McGlaughlin Huston, 81, of Radcliff, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at her residence.
Services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at Garret Funeral Home, McArthur. Burial will be in Bean Hill Cemetery.

Donald H. Puckett

Age: 65
THE PLAINS - Donald H. Puckett, 65, of The Plains, died unexpectedly Monday evening, Dec. 8, 2003, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Son of the late Edward William and Florence Herron Puckett, he was born Nov. 21, 1938, in Columbus.
Donald was a mason and concrete finisher working with Herb Wilson Construction Co. A graduate of Shade High School, he was a former resident of Guysville and a member of The Plains Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Puckett is survived by the mother of his children, Wyona Puckett; a daughter, Sarah (Rick) Wright of Hockingport; a stepdaughter, Lisa Wilson of The Plains; three sons, Donald W. (Mayla) Puckett of Athens, Tim (Sonja) Puckett of Athens and Steven Puckett of The Plains; five grandchildren, Phil (Larissa) Koska, Gary Koska, Matthew Demosky, Natalie and Alex Puckett; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Kaylee Koska; a sister, Kathleen Miller of New Albany; three brothers, Carl (Doris) Puckett of Orient, Ervin (Frances) Puckett of Athens and Charles Puckett of Columbus.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and three brothers, Richard, Fred and Russell Puckett.
Services were held Thursday by Jagers and Sons Funeral Home.
Bessie Dell Huston
Died: Monday, December 08, 2003
McARTHUR - Bessie Dell Huston, of Vales Mills, passed away peacefully at home Monday, Dec. 8. 2003.
Born Nov. 12, 1922, in Zaleski, she was the daughter of the late George Scott and Flora Gibbs McGlaughlin. She was a homemaker and had lived on her farm near Vales Mills since 1950. She was a 1940 graduate of Zaleski High School.
She is survived by children, Jerald Lyle (Jerri) Huston of Proctorville, Carl Bruce (Mary) Huston of Oak Hill, Sharon Schoonover of Vales Mills, Keith Allen (Edna) Huston of Vales Mills, and Steven Douglas (Rebecca) Huston of Albany; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Jeannie, Tammy, Shara Memtaz, Chandra, Jason, Nathan, Lukas, Jason, Ty, Eli and David; eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Micah, Nicholas, Max, Rowan, Lexie, TJ and Austyn; a sister, Rebecca Alice Peters, of Grove City; a sister-in-law, Laura Bethel McGlaughlin, of Zaleski; brothers-in-law Stanley (Shirley) Huston of Grove City, and Ellsworth (Donna) Huston of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Marvin J. Huston, on Jan. 5, 2002; a brother, Beryl Gibbs McGlaughlin; two brothers-in-law, Roy Peters and Franklin Allman; and a sister-in-law, Medrith Ruth Allman.
Funeral services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur. Burial will be in Bean Hill Cemetery, Union Ridge, Vinton County.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday one hour prior to the service.
Barbara Jane Reeves

Age: 70
POMEROY - Barbara Jane Reeves, 70, of Pomeroy, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
She was born March 30, 1933, in Sciotoville, daughter of the late Lunda and Lora Owsley Chandler.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Bill” Reeves; a son, Randy Reeves; and a daughter, Katie McKnight Reeves.
Services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, from noon until the time of services.
Eugene H. Poppenhaeger

Age: 82
ATHENS - Eugene H. Poppenhaeger, 82, of Athens, died Monday evening, Dec. 8, 2003, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains.
Born Dec. 12, 1920, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Rachel McLaughlin Poppenhaeger. Eugene was retired from Central Ohio Paper Co. and was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Athens VFW Post 3477 and American Legion, Post 21.
He is survived by two sons, Paul Poppenhaeger and his fiancee, Tina Lott, of Pleasantville, and Pete (Bev) Poppenhaeger of Reynoldsburg; six grandchildren, Heidi, Dusty, Chad, Terry Jr., Eric and Bethany.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Bettie in 1972, and Ruth in 1995.
Services will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. H. Willard Love officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens, where military services will be conducted by Athens VFW and Athens American Legion.

Robert E. Webb

THE PLAINS - Robert E. Webb, of The Plains, passed away late Monday evening Dec. 8, 2003 at his residence.
Born March 28, 1927, in Lodi Twp., he was the son of the late Rev. Guy and Cora Dailey Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Donna J. Webb; daughters, Laura Webb of Albany, and Myra (John Jr.) Robinson of Shade; a brother, Roscoe Webb of Louisville; grandchildren, Owen Hawk of Albany, J.H Robinson III of Peebles, and Stace and Justin Robinson of Albany; great-grandchildren, Tyler Robinson, Halle Lou Anne Robinson, Kelva Dotson, Austin Smathers and Hunter Smathers; and special nephews, Philip and Randy Holsinger.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a surveyor. He was an avid raccoon hunter, fisherman and horse puller, and a member of the mounted posse of Athens County. A graduate of Shade High School, he had retired from Ohio University’s Security Department and was a minister at Grahams Chapel Church for 15 years.
He was a Lodi Twp. Trustee for 15 years, a bus driver at Shade High School, and played baseball and basketball while in high school. He was past master of Savannah Lodge 274 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, past district deputy grand master and district educational officer for Free and Accepted Masons 17th Masonic District of Ohio, and a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite of Ohio.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Richard Wilson. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.

CHILLICOTHE - Clarence Justice, 57, of Chillicothe, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.
Born March 24, 1946, in Harrison Twp., Vinton County, he was the son of the late Isaac and Viola Seymour Justice.

POMEROY -- Louise V. Bearhs, 87, of Long Hollow Road, Pomeroy, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at her residence.
Born Sept. 13, 1915, in Pomeroy, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel Pullins Hartung. She is survived by children Carol Phillips and Ronald Bearhs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh C. Bearhs.
Services will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at Ewing Funeral Home, Pomeroy. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Daisy L. Conway

GLOUSTER -- Daisy L. Conway, 80, of Glouster, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Born Feb. 21, 1923, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lura Withem Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of Three Star Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son, Gerald (Andrea) Six of Englewood; daughters Mrs. Jimmie (Norma) Brammer of Hollister, Mrs. Paul (Janet) Roberts of Glouster, Carolyn Waller of The Plains and Mrs. William (Beverly) McCoy of Glouster; a stepson, Paul (Renauta) Conway of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren; brothers Gail (Frances) Cox of Murray City and Thomas Cox of Michigan; and sisters Linda Dildine of Columbus and Clara Ann Peach of Glouster.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Eldon Six and Pearl Conway; a son, Ernest "Inky" Six; a stepson, Larry Conway; brothers Jimmy, Estel and Henry Cox; and sisters Mary Glissan and Zelma Russell.
Services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Perry County.

Elsie Janes Humphrey

COOLVILLE -- Elsie Jane Humphrey, 85, of Coolville, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2003, at Arcadia Nursing Center, Coolville.
Born Sept. 9, 1917, in Doanville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sylvia Wooley Cable. She belonged to Coolville Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill Humphrey of Coolville, and John and Pam of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Barbara and Frank Mancini of Valencia, Calif., Judy and Frank Allegra of Canyon Country, Calif.; a sister, Audrey Masters of Columbus; and four grandsons and their spouses, Paul Humphrey, David and Johanna Mancini, Tony and Ginny Allegra, and Mark Allegra.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leyton Humphrey, and by two sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, with Pastor Teresa Waldeck officiating. Interment will be in Coolville Cemetery.
