THE PLAINS -- Margaret C. Nichols, 86, of Williamstown, W.Va., died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1917, in Bartlett, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Leah Boggs Craig.
She is survived by two sons, Donald A. of The Plains and Charles L. Nichols; two daughters, L. Jean Britton and Rita K. Mullenix. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Herbert Nichols.
A family graveside service will be held Saturday in Bartlett Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Denver Jefferson Shover

Age: 93
NEW MARSHFIELD -- Denver Jefferson Shover, 93, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the Ohio Masonic Home.
Born March 25, 1910, in New Marshfield, he was the son of the late Walter and Ethel Shover.
He is survived by three sons, Glenn, John and Ronald Shover; three daughters, Betty Slater, Janice Sutton and Shirley Tucker; and three stepdaughters, Allene Sigler, Mary Anne Culp and Betty Smalley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Helbert Shover; a son, Denver Lee Shover; and infant daughters Sandra and Maxine Shover.
Heyl Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Helen Sweeney Bumpas
Died: Friday, April 18, 2003
Age: 76
CHAUNCEY -- Mary Helen Sweeney Bumpas, 76, died Friday, April 18, 2003, in Cleveland, Texas.
Born in Chauncey during May, 1926, she was raised by Charles and Lillian Sweeney.
She is survived by her husband, Earl; a son, Charles; and two daughters, Brenda and Mary Lou. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service was held Tuesday in Texas. Her ashes will be scattered in Galveston Bay.
Annetta M. Nott
Died: Wednesday, April 16, 2003
Age: 77
GLOUSTER -- Annetta M. Nott, 77, of Glouster, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains.
Born Oct. 4, 1925, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest "Jud" and Ruth Withem Skinner. She was a member of No. 10 Mission in Glouster.
She is survived by sons Ronald Nott of Columbus and Roger (Sherry) Nott of Glouster; daughters Sheree Poling of Asheville, N.C., and Lorrie (Gary) Burcher of Glouster; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ellis "Pete" (Glenna) Skinner of Glouster.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, the Rev. Eugene M. Nott; three daughters, Donna Mae Nott, Joyce Johnson and Monica Nott; and by eight brothers and three sisters.
Services were held April 18 at Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, with the Rev. Ester Avery officiating. Burial was in Hollister Cemetery.
Robert Linton

STEWART -- Robert Linton died Saturday, April 10, 2003, at his home in Wilmington, N.C.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth; a daughter, Deborah Brothers of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sons, Rick of Dunedin, Fla., and Dan of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren Ginger Dorey of Tucson, Ariz., Jody Barrows and Nathan Linton of Delaware, and Amber Sagar of Supply, N.C.; a brother, Forest (Jean) Linton of Coolville; two sisters, Clarice (George) Norman of Greenup, Ky., and Janice McGee of The Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Memorial services were held April 13 at Kingdom Hall on Myrtle Grove in Wilmington. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington.
Cora McLine

LOGAN -- Cora McLin, 63, of Logan, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at her residence.
Born July 16, 1939, in Hocking County, she was the daughter of Bertha Bodkins McGomery of Logan and the late Carl E. McGomery. Mrs. McLin is survived by her husband, Darwin H. McLin.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with burial in New Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nellie Deible

LOGAN -- Nellie Deible, 94, of Logan, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Logan.
Born May 31, 1908, in Green Twp., Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Homer Mohler and Nellie Wiggins Mohler. She is survived by two sons, James T. Deible and Roy E. Deible Jr.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, with interment in New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy Sylvia Cuckler

Age: 81
ATHENS -- Celebrating the homecoming of Dorothy "Dottie" Sylvia Cuckler, 81, of Athens, who went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 7, 2003, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
She was a cherished mother and friend to everyone and was loved by all who knew her. She was born in Cleveland on Dec. 31, 1921, the daughter of Anna Mae Calvin Matz of Mayfield Heights and the late Herman Matz. Early in life, she was a corpsman in the WAVS during World War II. She was a member of Christ Community Wesleyan Church.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bernard; daughters Pam (Jim) Ferris of Albany, Anny (David) Pratt of Athens and Lori (Eric) Bolin of Athens; sons Dale (Pam) Cuckler of Tulsa, Okla., and Dennis (Jane) Cuckler of Rockport, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Letty Stenson of Palisade, Colo.; and sisters-in-law Lillian Matz of Mayfield Heights and Doris Matz of Hartzville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Cameron Pratt; a twin brother, Donald Matz; and a brother, Jack Matz.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Christ Community Wesleyan Church, conducted by the Rev. Denver Dodrill, with burial in Athens Memory Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
James B. Woodyard

Age: 85
ATHENS -- James B. Woodyard, 85, of Athens, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1918, in Athens County, he was the son of the late John B. and Lilia A. Crane Woodyard.
He was the great-nephew of Banker Brown, as well as a Navy World War II veteran.
He was a member of the Athens Church of Christ, the Operating Engineers Association and the Chauncy Senior Citizens Center.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Woodyard; four children, Patricia Hudnell of Athens, John (Muriel) Thompson of California, Mike (Joann) Thompson of Buchtel and Sue (Edward) Barnhart of Lancaster; two stepchildren, Greg (Beth) Cline of Athens and Victor (Sue) Cline of New Marshfield; several grandchildren; and a sister, Ellen Hartman of The Plains.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel; a daughter, Nancy Sims; three sisters, Alice Cline, Elizabeth McCoy and Ruth Cade; and a brother, Howard T. Woodyard.
Services will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with minister Willard Love officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens, where military services will be conducted by Athens American Legion Post 21 and Athens VFW Post 3477.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Raymond Tucker

Age: 84
LOGAN -- Raymond Tucker, 84, of Logan, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Logan Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 30, 1918 in Hocking County, a son of the late Gerald and Bertha Achauer Tucker. He was the husband of the late Della G. Campbell Tucker.
Masonic services will be held today at 7 p.m. at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan. Private interment will be held in Fellowship Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
