POMEROY - Leola Marie Denney Keck, 82, of Pomeroy, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born Nov. 13, 1921, in Bidwell, she was the daughter of the late Stanford H. and Jessie Thaxton Denney. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Keck.
Services will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Ewing Funeral Home, Pomeroy. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Age: 88
McARTHUR -- Clydia M. Wing, 88, formerly of McArthur, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Huston Nursing Home, Hamden.
Born Dec. 26, 1914, in Jackson Twp., Vinton County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Josephine Walton Young. She was a member of Vinton County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram G. Wing, on April 10, 1987; brothers Harry E., Lafe and Isaac Young; and half brothers Sam Arbaught, James Young and Raymal Wine.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County, with the Rev. Robert McManaway officiating. There will be no calling hours. Garrett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Locust Grove United Methodist Church, in care of Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur.
Vida Mayle Dalton

CUTLER -- Vida Mayle Dalton, 88, of Cutler, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 28, 1915, in Cutler, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Viola Mayle. She is survived by a son, Ronnie Dalton, and a daughter, Eloise Norris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Dalton.
Services will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at Southland Cemetery, Cutler.

POMEROY -- Mildred Bowen, 87, of Pomeroy, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born Oct. 15, 1915, in Meigs County, she was the daughter of the late Denver and Edna Heitger Carman. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Bowen Sr., and a son, Robert E. Bowen Jr.
Services will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at Ewing Funeral Home. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.

Iva Ruth Hanley

GLOUSTER -- Iva Ruth Hanley, 94, of Glouster, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at her residence.
Born Jan. 8, 1909, in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Jane Green Smith. She was the widow of the late William Walter Hanley. She was a member of Greens Run Church of Christ and a devoted mother who loved her children.
She is survived by four sons, Myles Hanley of Englewood, Arthur William (Carol) Hanley of Mount Vernon, Wash., Melvin (Mary) Hanley of Lancaster and Dave Hanley of Glouster; five daughters, Norma (George) Moyer of Clinton, Virginia (Ray) White of Gahanna, Ruth Ann (Bob) Stanley of Glouster, Mary Jo Wear of Alburn, Ala., and Carolyn (Bill) Fisk of New Marshfield; 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, a granddaughter, five brothers and a sister.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.

Joseph M. Conner

NELSONVILLE -- Joseph M. Conner, 87, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Doctors Hospital of Nelsonville.
He was born Dec. 31, 1915, in Nelsonville, the son of the late Fred V. and Pearl Wolf Conner. He was married to Doris G. Jones Conner of Nelsonville.
He was retired from the Nelsonville-York School District where he was a maintenance and custodial supervisor. He was a World War II Army veteran. He worked for many years at the Chauncey Mine until it closed, and he also worked construction in the area.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Keith and Letha Conner of Nelsonville; a daughter, JoEllen and Michael Wright of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Eugenia and John McCollister, Lisa and Darryl Halcomb, Seth and Megan Wright, all of Frankfort, Lenette and Chris McDonald of Troy, Ill., Stacy and Philip Venrick of Lancaster, Stefan Conner of Nelsonville, and Erin and Shawn Fraunfelter of Logan; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, William and Peggy Conner of Hampton, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Foster, Donald, Fred Jr. and Raymond Conner, and a sister, Lucille Dixon.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with Pastor David and Beverly Shoemaker officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur C. Conant; children, Vicki Hanson, Rick Clark, Sherri King and Terri Clark; and a stepson, Paul Conant.
