WELLSTON -- Virgil Leach, 53, of Wellston, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at his residence.
Born Feb. 25, 1950, in Wellston, he was the son of Katherine Hill Leach of Wellston and the late Paul Leach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Besides his mother, he survived by his wife, Pauline Robinson Leach, and children Alisha Hall and Elizabeth Leach.
Services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston. Burial will be in Byer Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m.
Vicki L. McAtee Depoy
Died: Monday, May 5, 2003
Age: 43
ATHENS -- Vicki L. McAtee Depoy, 43, of Athens, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 8, 1959, in Cutler, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Irene Green McAtee. She is survived by her husband, Roger Depoy; a daughter, Erica Depoy; and a son, Scott Smathers.
Services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home, Chesterhill. Burial will be in Centenary Cemetery, Cutler.

Frederick J. Bartholomew

LOGAN -- Frederick J. Bartholomew, 48, of Logan, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Columbus.
Born Oct. 8, 1954, in Logan, he was the son Enid Rhoades Bartholomew of Logan and the late Welter Bartholomew. He is survived by his wife, Linda Smith Bartholomew, and children Derrick, Byron, Erin and Jennifer Bartholomew.
Services will be Thursday,10:30 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan.

Age: 91
RACINE -- Cora Elizabeth Birch, 91, of Racine, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy.
Born Oct. 3, 1911, in Jackson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Bowens Horner. She is survived by sons Roger, Larry and Robert Birch.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Letart Falls Cemetery.

Helen E.. Docie
Died: Sunday, May 4, 2003
GLOUSTER -- Helen E. Docie of Glouster went to be with the Lord late Sunday evening, May 4, 2003, at Doctors Hospital of Nelsonville.
Born in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Dexter and Ora LeFever Carr. She was a member of Glouster Church of Christ for more than 60 years and a member the church's Loyal Berean Class. Leaving behind many longtime special friends, she will always be remembered for her willingness to help others and open her home to those around. She was a woman of great faith and compassion, having a heart of gold, and was loved by many. She had been a resident of Broad Street since 1921.
She is survived by daughters Cathi (Lynn) Gerrish of Pinckneyville, Ill., and Jane (Tom) Schultz of Glouster; grandchildren Brook (Bridgot) Walton of Sullivan, Ill., Chad (Kathy) Walton of Oswego, Ill., Tammy (David) Kovach of Glouster and T. Jay Schultz of Glouster; and great-grandchildren Tatum Mingus Schultz of Glouster and Henry Alec Walton of Oswego.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex, in 1992, and a sister, Dorothy Carr Faires.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Glouster Church of Christ, conducted by David Couch assisted by Dirk Walton. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, today from 6 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to service.

Danetta Campbell
Died: Sunday, March 30, 2003
Age: 64
MURRAY CITY -- Danetta Campbell, 64, of Murray City, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan.
Born April 15, 1938, in Jobs, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Wavalene Johnson Bateman. She retired in 2000 from Wm. Brooks Shoe Co. after several years of employment, and was a member of American Legion Post 420 and Eagles Lodge Auxiliary 1044.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Rolyn Campbell of Murray City; a daughter, Lori White of Murray City; grandchildren Jessica and Brian Smith of Buchtel, Steven White of Murray City and Ashley White of Murray City; great-grandchildren Tyler Baber of Buchtel, Robert Smith of Buchtel and Cori Hanson of South Point; a brother and sister-in-law, Hugh Daniel and Cindy Bateman of Ray; her mother-in-law, Lena Campbell of Murray City; brothers- and sisters-in-law John and Judy Campbell of Murray City, George and Helen Addis of Buchtel; aunts and uncles Helen and Roy Keller of Columbus, Sally and Bob McFarland of Columbus; very special friends Harry and Ruth Davidson and family of Granville; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Jobs Church near Murray City, with the Rev. Ernie Perkins, Dave and Bev Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Carbon Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wenesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; and at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

William G. Decker

Age: 84
NELSONVILLE -- William G. Decker, 84, of Nelsonville, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth.
Born Dec. 29, 1918, in Coshocton, he was the son of the late Joseph "Joe" and Amanda "Mandy" Decker. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, DeMarius Sanders Decker of Nelsonville.
William served in Germany with the U.S. Army during World War II, in the 99th Infantry. He served in the Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland, Remagen and Ruhr Pocket, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Nelsonville First Christian Church and a life member of VFW Post 3467.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lynn Decker of Athens, Jane Ann (Jeff) Springston of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jeanmarie (Mike) Beech of Peebles; three grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie Huffman) Sullivan, Jennifer Beech and Mandy Marie (Danny) Knechtly; two great-grandchildren, Cruz Beech-Turner and Rylee Sullivan; a sister, Mary Torgler of Coshocton; and a nephew, Dick Selders of Coshocton.
Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Nelsonville First Christian Church, with the Rev. Tom Hanning officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, with military graveside services conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.

Mae A. Koker
Died: Sunday, March 30, 2003
Age: 92
NELSONVILLE -- Mae A. Koker, 92, of Nelsonville, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Logan Health Care Center.
Born March 1, 1911, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late John McDaniel and Mary Simons McDaniel Morris. She was the widow of Harold G. Koker, who passed away on Sept. 21, 1993.
Mae was a retired elementary school teacher. She taught students in Athens, Morgan and Clermont Counties. She was a member of the Hyperian Club and Nelsonville First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Queen Esther Class and a Sunday school teacher. At Nelsonville First Christian Church, she was a Sunday school superintendent, a member of the adult choir and organized the first children's choir at the church. She was a member of the Athens County Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Don Kochensparger of New Lexington, Larita and Dan Peters of McDonough, Ga., and Rosemary and Forrest Fuller of Seneca, S.C.; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Phyllis McDaniel of Glouster, and Siebert and Betty McDaniel of LaMont, Mo.; and a sister, Eileene Bidwell of ElCentro, Calif.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ada Lawrence.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Gary Carlson officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Addition, Nelsonville.

WELLSTON -- Kathryn Miller, 88, of Wellston, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at University Hospital, Columbus.
Born Feb. 24, 1915, in Wellston, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maude Allen. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Phillips.
Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home, Wellston. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday morning until the time of services.
