Alabama School Yearbooks by State and County

Tamara Miller
ALBANY - Tamara Cerese Miller, 43, of Albany, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born May 17, 1957, in Marietta, she was the daughter of William E. and Barbara Bolin Miller. She attended Alexander High School.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Marck of Wellston; an uncle, Barry (Lynn) Bolin of Albany; and an aunt, Bartha (Richard) Caravantes of San Diego, Calif.
Private graveside services will be conducted at Alexander Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Albany.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Basic Needs Ministries of the Albany Baptist Church, P.O. Box 357, Albany 45710.

Ruth Speakman
RAY- Ruth M. Sanney Speakman, 83, of Ray, died at Four Winds Nursing Facility in Jackson on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000.
Born July 18, 1917, in Hundred, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lizzie Sanney.
She is survived by six children, Carol Puckett, Charles Speakman, Mary Thompson, Sara Zbikowski, Patty Paffrath and Ped Speakman.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Speakman; and a daughter, Kathy Lamb.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home in Wellston. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1 to 8 p.m.

Robert Schultz
LOGAN - Robert L. Schultz, 57, of Logan, joined his beloved Ruthie in Heaven with the angels on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000.
He was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Logan, the son of Jean Weis Schultz of Logan and the late Richard N. Schultz.
Robert was a Logan High School graduate and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962-1968. He was employed by Metal Powder Specialties for 33 years and served as the president of its union for many, many years.
Robert also served the city of Logan faithfully for 24 years as a member of Logan City Council from Jan. 1, 1970, to Dec. 31, 1993, and was chairman of the streets committee for all 24 years he was in office. His major accomplishments include improvements at Oak Grove Cemetery; annexation and improvement of Dicken Addition and Walnut Hills; construction of a new fire station, waste water treatment plant and police station; and the creation of Mingo Park.
He is survived by his mother; two daughters, Misty Colliton and Roberta "Birdi" (Mike) Schwamberger of Logan; four grandchildren, Chase and Hannah Colliton, and Baylie and Tyler Schwamberger of Logan; three sisters, Kathy (Jerry) Weaver, Dixie (Eric) Sevcik and Jean Ann Krannitz of Logan; five sisters-in-law, Marianne Brooks, Judy Helber and Jean L. Jones of Logan, and Anne (Don) Wirth and Kay (Dave) Mettes of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Dick (Mae) Wilson of Columbus; special former son-in-law, Rookie Colliton of Logan; a host of nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Oscar, his basset hound.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his beloved wife of 22 years, Ruth Wilson Schultz.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with Pastor Ron Dauber officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, with military graveside services by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Paul Livingston
JACKSON - Paul O. Livingston, 56, of Jackson, formerly of Wellston, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Heartland of Jackson.
He was born July 26, 1944, in Chillicothe, son of the late Oscar and Goldie Barlow Livingston.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home in Wellston. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 1 to 8 p.m.

Mary Allen
ATHENS - Memorial contributions for Mary Kathleen Allen of Athens can be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 941 Chatham Lane, Suite 120, Columbus 43221. An incorrect address for the foundation appeared in an earlier death notice for Mrs. Allen.
Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at her residence. Services were arranged by Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, and burial was in Bates Cemetery.

Lauralee Dayton
McARTHUR - Lauralee Radekin Dayton, 41, of McArthur, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Mason, Ohio.
Born July 8, 1959, in McArthur, she was the daughter of Barbara Radekin of McArthur and the late George Radekin Jr. She was a secretary and a member of McArthur First Christian Church.
Besides her mother, she is survived by Ron Dayton; children Carey Ann Dayton and Jonathan Dayton of Allensville; a brother, Terry E. (Debbie) Radekin of Jackson; nieces Sarah and Kayla Radekin of Jackson; and her grandmother, Faye Pendleton of McArthur.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, with Elder James Cummings and Emmett Waldron officiating. Burial will be in Radcliff Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m.

John Hobbs
ALBANY - John H. Hobbs, 68, of Albany, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 16, 1932, in Belle, W.Va., and was a son of the late William Henry and Fannie Taylor Hobbs.
Mr. Hobbs was retired from the United States Air Force and from Southern Ohio Coal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 371, Wellston, the Air Force Sergeants Association and Albany VFW Post 9893.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Dale Jarrell Hobbs; two sons, Michael David (Jayne) Hobbs of Albany and Phillip Carter (Nancy) Hobbs of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah, Lauren and Haley; a brother, Lee Hobbs of Albany; and five sisters, Frances Hawk of Bloomington, Ill., Jean Hobbs of North Carolina, Blanche Hobbs of Charleston, W.Va., Louise Bogli of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., and Daisy Kuhn of Tampa, Fla.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Red and Homer Hobbs.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with Dr. James Acree officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens with military graveside services by Albany VFW Post 9893.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Johnathon Gaskill
LOGAN - Johnathon Gibson Gaskill was stillborn Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at University Hospital, Columbus. His parents are John Eugene Gaskill Jr. and Holly Ryan Martin of Logan.
Graveside services were today at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home, Logan.

James Dickerson
WELLSTON - James A. Dickerson, 34, of Wellston, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Cooper Hollow, Jackson County.
Born Oct. 4, 1966, in Gallipolis, he was the son of Flaudeen Potter Dickerson of Wellston and the late Charles Gerald Dickerson.
He was an electrician at Pillsbury in Wellston, a 1985 graduate of Wellston High School, a 1990 graduate of the University of Rio Grande and a member of Zion No. 3 Church, Wellston.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Valerie Kisor Dickerson; daughters Katie and Elyzabeth, both at home; sisters Geraldeen Kisor of Wellston and Elizabeth Wittman of Winchester, Ky.; brothers Tom Dickerson of Ray, Richard Dickerson of West Jefferson and Ike Dickerson of Wellston; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Marlene Kisor of Wellston; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston, with Pastor Ed Barney officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Iva Lucas
GUYSVILLE - Iva Marie Lucas, 80, of South Canaan Road, Guysville, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, 2000, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains.
Born in Washington County on Aug. 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Dayton and Anna Ames Dalton. She was a member of South Canaan Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Shirley Ann (Frank) Kennedy and Carolyn Sue (Sanford) Kennedy of Guysville, and Sherry (Ted) Rhoades of Land of Lakes, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law Bill (Irene) Lucas, John E. (Peggy) Lucas and Steve A. (Tamara) Lucas of Guysville; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Mayle of Pennsville and Edna Norris of Stewart; a brother, Robert Dalton of Columbus; and a special friend, Ruell Harris of Corning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1971; and by sisters Ruth Kennedy and Esther Dalton.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, by the Rev. David Cogar, with burial in Rockland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Ronald Haning
POMEROY - Ronald A. Haning, 56, of Pomeroy, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was born Oct. 11, 1944, in Meigs County, the son of Myrtle Hudnall Haning of Pomeroy and the late Ray M. Haning.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three sons, Mick Haning, Buster Haning, and Gary Haning; and a daughter, Chris Haning.
A graveside service will be held Friday at noon at Wells Cemetery.
Friends may call at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Geraldine Davis
NELSONVILLE - Geraldine "Jerry" Nelson Davis, 67, of Nelsonville, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Doctors Hospital of Nelsonville.
She was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Elmer Floyd and Beatrice Marie Nelson Rutter. She was a retired employee of Wm. Brooks Shoe Co.
She is survived by daughters Mrs. Harold (Janice) Williams of Corning, and Mrs. Dan (Kathy) Jones of Malta; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sheryl Davis of Nelsonville; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; brothers Larry and Wanita Rutter of Pomeroy, and Ray Rutter of Chauncey; sisters Mrs. Earl (Evelyn) Stayrook and Mary Rutter, both of Bellefontaine, Bonnie Toth of Toledo, Martha Heinlein of Cincinnati, Mrs. Dick (Edith) Akers of Dayton, and Sue Rutter; in-laws Marie Richards of Gallipolis, Charles and Dorothy Davis of Delaware, David and Eve Davis of San Antonio, Texas, and Jennie and Carl Altier of Nelsonville; and special friends Betty Lyons, Donna Treadway and Betty Bash, all of Nelsonville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reese Davis; a son, Roger L. Davis; and a brother, Elmer Rutter.
Services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, with the Rev. King Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Connett Cemetery, Athens County.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Frances Woodard
NELSONVILLE - Frances May Woodard, 94, of Nelsonville, formerly of Logan, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 26, 1906, in Tarlton, daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary Cordella Hiatt Kreider. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and Ewing Grange, and was a graduate of Gibisonville High School.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Durward H. Woodard; a daughter, Mrs. Joel (Alice Louise) Christian of Nelsonville; grandchildren Linda and Les Westfall, Marybeth and Larry Miner, Steve and Toni Grady, Cathy and Tom Burchell, and Jeff and Michelle Brown; great-grandchildren Lorinda and Bob LeClain, Craig Westfall, Stephanie Grady, Brandon Grady, Elyse Miner, John Brown, Amy Brown, Patrick Burchell and Johnathan Burchell; and a sister, Mary St. Clair of Logan.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by daughters, Mary Jane Brown, who passed away on July 1, 1973, and Frances Ann Gratton, who passed away on May 10, 2000; and brothers Paul, Michael and Ronald Kreider.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, with Marguerite McGrady officiating. Burial will be in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus 43221.
