Ermal Cremeans
CHESHIRE - Ermal J. Cremeans, 78, of South Fourth Street, Cheshire, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 15, 2000, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born June 29, 1922, in Cheshire, daughter of the late Hollis and Ethel Thomas Rife. She was a licensed beautician, and was employed for several years by the U.S. Postal Service at the Cheshire Post Office. She was a member of Old Kyger Freewill Baptist Church, Cheshire Garden Club and Chapter 283 of Ohio Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Grover Cremeans; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank A. and Carol Cremeans of Gallipolis, and Fred and Betty Cremeans of Athens; 10 grandchildren, Fred A. Cremeans and Jill Cremeans of Athens, Martin Cremeans of Acworth, Ga., Tom (Liz) Cremeans and Connie Cremeans of Belle, W.Va., Kim (John) Burnell of Lakewood, Kari (David) DuVale and Leigh Ann (Steve) Moore of Richmond, Va., Tim Cremeans of Bessemer, Ala., and John Cremeans of Gallipolis; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sharon K. Harrah of Belle; a sister, Evelyn Roush of Merritt Island, Fla.; and two sisters-in-law, Wilma Swisher of Gallipolis, and Julia Lee Cremeans of Cheshire; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas D. Cremeans, on Feb. 19, 1992; and two sisters, Ada Ward and Audrey Bradbury.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Old Kyger Freewill Baptist Church near Cheshire, with the Rev. Jamie Fortner officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from noon until the time of services.

Dorothy Bridges
COOLVILLE - Dorothy Rebecca Cox Bridges, 91, of Highland Avenue, Sunrise Addition, Parkersburg, W.Va., died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at her home.
She was born in Ritchie County, W.Va., daughter of the late William Spencer and Mary Virginia Patton Fowler. She attended Davis Memorial Wesleyan Church in Parkersburg, and worked as a nursing assistant at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Earl E. and Dorothy Cox of Coolville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rose Mary and Donald Price of Belpre; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Charlene and Michael Fronko II, Roger E. and Angie Price, Pamela and Dennis Guile, Diane and Michael Westfall, Lisa and Doug Vogelsong, Greg and Jenny Price, and Jeffrey and Stephanie Cox; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa D. and Steve Taylor, Michael F. III and Shanna Fronko, Timmy Misner, Richard Misner, Christopher Guile, Thomas Price, Sarah E. Price, Lonnie D. Westfall, Wyatt E. Westfall, Daniel Price, Noah R. Cox, Abigail Price and Jonathan Lane; and a great-great-grandchild, Angelica Fronko.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman Ovid Cox; her second husband, Benjamin Bridges; a son, Cecil Cox; a granddaughter, Linda Mae Cox; and two brothers, Glenn and Howard Fowler.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Ronald Drillien officiating. Burial will be in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Harrisville.

Doris Rankin
GLOUSTER - Doris E. Rankin, 70, Glouster, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville.
Born Dec. 15, 1929, in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late Dow W. Sr. and May Richards Davis. She is survived by her husband, Lowell Rankin.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Murray City. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Doris Adams
RACINE - Doris J. Adams, 78, of Racine, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000 at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
Born Jan. 20, 1922, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nina Ashley Wagner. She is survived by a daughter, Jackie McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Adams.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine, with burial in Letart Falls Cemetery.

Clarence Perry
WELLSTON - Clarence M. "Dick" Perry, 89, of Oak Hill Branch Road, South Webster, formerly of Jackson County, Milton Twp., died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.
He was born Sept. 19, 1911, in Vinton County, son of the late William and Gertrude Kirkendall Perry.
He is survived by stepchildren Eddie, James and Harley Buffington, and Garnet Boyer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Buffington Perry; and a stepson, Harry Buffington.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home in Wellston. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Carrie Barker
THE PLAINS - Carrie Irene Barker, 79, of The Plains, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at her home.
Born Nov. 17, 1920, in Stewart, she was the daughter of the late Zean and Inez Hayes Crippen.
She is survived by two sons, Clarence (Lois) Barker of Gallipolis, and Thomas Barker of Ravenswood, W.Va.; three daughters, Patty Darnell of Tuppers Plains, Ginny Barker of The Plains, and Betty (Paul) Dill of Pomeroy; 10 grandchildren, Charles Alltop, Cindy (Todd) Grubb, Jim Barker, Ron (Debbie) Barker, Valerie (Brian) McClintock, Jon (Christi) Barker, Zean Wilson, Liz Barker, Chad Barker and Jason Barker; seven great-grandchildren, Trent and Nathan McClintock, Megan Darnell, Alexandra and Corbin Wilkens, Sarah Wilson and Ashley Barker; three sisters, Erma Mayle, Winnie McGill and Nellie (Dan) Hafner; a sister-in-law, Mary Crippen; and many friends at First Street Apartments.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Barker, in 1957; an infant grandson, Thomas Darin Barker; two sisters, Mamie Bond and Lennie Barnhart; and three brothers, Harry Crippen, Walter Crippen and Zeanas Crippen Jr.
Services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens, with Maudie Perry officiating. Burial will be in Wyers Cemetery.

Barbara Wanat
McARTHUR - Barbara Board Wanat, 47, of McArthur, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
She was born Jan. 23, 1953, in Pomeroy, daughter of Burley Board of Crooksville and Reba Laudermilt Board of Rio Grande.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Devon Wanat; and children Lena and John Brooks.
Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home in McArthur. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery.

Alberta Jellison
ALBANY - Alberta M. Turrill Jellison, 88, of Albany, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 11, 1911, in Athens, daughter of the late Harrison and Carrie Pidcock Brooks. She was a longtime waitress for Ideal Restaurant in Athens, a former employee of Athens State Hospital, a member of Zanesville Church of the Nazarene, and a former member of The Plains Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by a son, David F. (Theresa) Turrill of Albany; a daughter, Bernice (Paul) Foreman of Athens; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Hammond of The Plains and June Nester of Grove City.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Kenneth Turrill, Harry Jourden, Marian Barker and Allen Jellison; brothers Tom, Ervin, Arthur, Otho and Kenny Brooks; sisters Wilma Connel, Ruth Pickett, Vivian Brooks, Jean Wallace and Ollie Gifford; sons Donald and Dale Turrill; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with the Rev. Edward Jones officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.

John Wilson
STOCKPORT - John Morrow Wilson, 65, of Embree Road, Stockport, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1934, in Mount Sterling, son of the late Martin A. and Elizabeth Cartmille Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Hornbeck Wilson; three sons, John R., Harlan B. and Russell A. "Rusty" Wilson; and a daughter, Jean K. Goodnite.
Services will be held Sunday, 2 p.m., at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill. Burial will be Monday, 1 p.m., in Deer Creek Twp. Cemetery, London.

Earl Wilson
SHADE - Earl Clark "Butch" Wilson, 53, of 40943 Park Road, Lot 49, Shade, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at his residence.
He was born on July 5, 1947, in Wheeling, W.Va., son of Emma Laudermilt Wilson of Shade and the late George C. Wilson.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jimmie K. Wilson.
There will be no services or calling hours.

Keith Bassine
ATHENS - Keith Elizabeth Bassine, 83, of Cave Junction, Ore., died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Three Rivers Community Hospital and Health Center-Washington Campus in Grants Pass, Oregon.
She was born Keith Elizabeth Clark on Sept. 22, 1916, in Clothier, W.Va. In 1934, she married Willis A. Gilmore, who preceded her in death.
From 1953 to 1961 she lived in Athens, where she worked at the A&P Store. From 1961 to 1978 she lived in California and worked for TRW in Redondo Beach. On Sept. 21, 1963, in Redondo Beach she married Willis J. "Bill" Bassine, who preceded her in death in 1996. In 1978 she moved to Cave Junction from Garden Grove, Calif.
She was a member of the Women's Club and volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce, both in Cave Junction.
She especially loved her family and caring for her home. She also enjoyed writing letters and baking.
Survivors include two sons, Clark Gilmore of Cave Junction; Ronald Gilmore of Athens; a daughter, Mari Clark of Los Angeles, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Patricia McSherry of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Kitty Carte, and her husband, Lynn, of Cartersville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Kelly Wand, Ryan Wand, John Gilmore, Keith Gilmore and Ronda Poffenbarger; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Clark.
Memorial services will be held in September. Southern Oregon Cremation Services of Grants Pass is in charge of arrangements.
