Donald Davis
LOGAN - Donald Ray Davis, 58, of Logan, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1942, in Logan, son of the late James Kamden and Elsie Sayre Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Texas Ruby Malone Davis.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery, Falls Twp., Hocking County.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Lula Quivey
MIDDLEPORT - Lula M. Quivey, 94, of Middleport, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in West Virginia.
Born March 12, 1906, in Middleport, she was the daughter of the late Claude W. and Rose Ellen Phelps Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leo Quivey. A son, Arthur Quivey, survives.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in Middleport, with burial in Middleport Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kenneth Bright Sr.
LOGAN - Kenneth W. Bright Sr., 85, of Logan, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y.
He was born June 26, 1914, in Omaha, Neb., son of the late Florence Harry Bright and Warren Bright St.
He is survived by children Kenneth W. Jr. and Stephen K. Bright and Julia Overturf.
Services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Logan. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Betty Dicken
LITTLE HOCKING - Betty Lou Baker Bobo Dicken, 78, of Little Hocking, died June 3, 2000, at the residence of her son, Chris Dicken of Little Hocking.
She was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Athens, daughter of the late Warren E. Baker and Martha Kibble Baker Hauber. She was a member of Door of Hope Church, did extensive volunteer work for the Salvation Army in Richmond and Louisville, Ky., and enjoyed needlework, singing and gardening.
Survivors include four sons, Levi "Bill" Bobo and his wife, Nancy, of Coolville, Chris Dicken and his wife, Judy, of Little Hocking, Lee Dicken and his wife, Carol, of Little Hocking, and John Bobo of Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Cherley and her husband, Del Grogg, of Parkersburg; two brothers, Paul Hauber Jr. of Long Bottom, and Charles "Chuck" Hauber of Reedsville; two sisters, Louise Glunsencamp and Leoma Hall of Coolville; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Warren "Bus" Baker; two sisters, Opal Randolph and Edith Swain; an infant son, Freddie Eugene Bobo; and former husbands William Bobo and Howard Dicken.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at White-Moquin Funeral Home, Coolville, with Pastor Jay Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Hetzer-Kibble Cemetery, Reedsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Clarence Dicken
NEW STRAITSVILLE - Clarence Rae Dicken, 73, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1926, in Gore, son of Sherman and Daisy Howdyshell Dicken. Mr. Dicken was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He graduated from New Straitsville High School in 1944, and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Ohio University in 1951, and a masters degree in 1957. He was employed by the Franklin City School District in 1958, became head of the industrial arts department and was junior class adviser. He retired in 1984, with 34 years in education.
He was a member of Mingo Lodge 171 F&AM of Logan, Harrison Chapter 225 Order of Eastern Star, William S. Roof Chapter 238 RSM of Franklin and Franklin Lions Club, was a life member of the state teacher system and Franklin First United Methodist Church.
Preceded him in death were his parents and brothers, Robert Edward and Warren Lee Dicken.
He is survived by his wife of 43 1/2 years, Nell Rice Dicken; and daughters, Mishelle and Trisha, both of Franklin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at Franklin First United Methodist Church, on South Main and West Third Streets, with the Rev. Dale Lykins officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery, with full military honors.
Visitation will be held Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Unglesby Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin.

James Davis
ATHENS - James K. Davis, 46, of Athens, died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born March 28, 1954, Mr. Davis was the son of William Boyer of Millfield and the late Norma Davis Boyer.
Besides his father, Mr. Davis is survived by his son, Jefferson Davis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arthur Davis
REEDSVILLE - Arthur A. Davis, 87, of Reedsville, died July 2, 2000, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, W.Va.
He was born May 6, 1913, in Ivydale, W.Va., son of the late Gordon and Fannie Holcomb Davis. Survivors include children Joan Ann Lockhart and, Teddy R. Osborne, and Nancy Rockhold, who was raised in the home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Icy Davis, and an infant daughter, Jean Nana Davis.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at White-Moquin Funeral Home, Coolville. Burial will be in Reedsville Cemetery.
Friends can call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlotte Wilson
WELLSTON - Charlotte Elizabeth Lomax Wilson, 68, of Wellston, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Logan, daughter of the late Peter and Erma Cecil Lomax.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur E. Wilson; a son, Steven; three daughters, Charlotte Ann Hinton, Wendy Lee Bitzan and Bobbie Lynn Henry; and two stepdaughters, Debbie Copley and Sally Odom.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by Jenkins Funeral Home, Wellston.

Ronald Bateman Sr.
LONGSTRETH - Ronald T. Bateman Sr., 69, of Longstreth, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1930, in Nelsonville, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Parry Bateman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, was founder and a charter member of the Ward Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, a former Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 76 of Nelsonville, a member of the National Rifle Association and the Steelworkers Union, an employee of the former Armco steel plant in Logan, and a graduate of Nelsonville High School.
He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Donna M. Williams Bateman; sons Ronald (Connie) Bateman Jr. of Logan, John (Christy) Bateman Sr. of Carbon Hill, and Donald (Jane) Bateman of Longstreth; daughters Cheryl Vermillion of Logan, Karen (Jim) Bush of Logan, Kendra (Pooder) Wilson of Logan, and Keita Trowbridge of Longstreth; grandchildren Matthew, Mark, Rebecca, Roger, Elizabeth, John Jr., Jeremy, Jimmy, Charles, Jesse, Veronica, Nicole and Shawn; a brother, Phil Bateman of Buchtel; sisters Mary Jane Bateman, Anna McMillen and Rachel (Bill) Kerr, all of Nelsonville, and Wanda (Dick) Gulley of Dresden; and a sister-in-law, Norma Bateman of Nelsonville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Leonard Jones; brothers Parry, Clarence "Guy" and Earl Bateman; and a son-in-law, Ed Vermillion.
Services will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, with the Rev. Ed True officiating. Burial will be in Downhour Cemetery, Hocking County, where military rites will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Wanda Hopkins
LOGAN - Wanda G. Hopkins, 57, of Logan, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born on April 12, 1942, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Walker and Mary Fulk Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, George; a son, Justin Hopkins; daughters Nicole and Amber Hopkins; and three stepchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville.
Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

William Smith
AMESVILLE - William Paul Smith, 76, of Route 550, Amesville, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at his residence.
He was born May 20, 1924, in Sharpsburg, son of the late William and Jessie Hill Smith. He was a retired highway inspector for the Ohio Department of Transportation, attended Bartlett Bible Baptist Church, and was a past member of the Athens County School Board.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McBrayer Smith; a stepson, Bobby Hartleben of Stockport; two stepdaughters, Jenny Pugh of Stockport and Debbie Hartleben of Beverly; a granddaughter and four step-granddaughters; four brothers, Gayle (Ethel) Smith of Zanesville, Robert (Barbara) Smith of Athens, Roger (Patty) Smith of Cutler, and Randy (Sandra) Smith of Little Hocking; and five sisters, Louise Ramsey and Vivian Thompson of Canton, Donna (Raymond) Hale of Columbus, Wanda (Jim) Tate of Canal Winchester, and Karen (Larry) Norman of McConnelsville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Smith; a son, Paul Gene Smith; and a brother, Argyle Smith.
Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Bartlett Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Berry officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
Friends may call at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.

Shane Henderson
MILLFIELD - Shane William Henderson, 23, of Millfield, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000.
He was born Jan. 25, 1977, in Athens. He was a self-employed carpenter in the local area and also in Missouri. Shane has a special love for lighthouses because of the beautiful beacon of light. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. (Follow the light, Shane.)
He was the only son of Linda Zimmer Alfman and Bill Henderson. He is survived by his stepfather, Roger Alfman; grandmothers Waneda Nogrady and Donna Henderson; fiance Jessica Bumpbass; stepsisters Marsha Thompson, Jessica Alfman and Carrie Henderson; stepbrothers Rocky Alfman and Billy Henderson; family members B.J. Nogrady and Tarah Nogrady; godfather Butch Olbers; and godmother Brenda Olbers.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Billy "Tank" Zimmer.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster, with Pastor Ron Fierce officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
