Roy Hartley Jr.
McARTHUR - Roy E. Hartley Jr., 73, of Kisor Road, Wellston, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in McArthur, son of the late Roy A. and Mayme Edwards Hartley. He was a retired truck driver for Austin Powder Co., a veteran of the United States Army, a member of McArthur Christian Church, attended Wellston First Church of the Nazarene, and was a member of Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons McArthur Chapter 102, Jackson Commandery 053 of the Knights Templar, Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio Wellston Council 102, Shiloh Shrine Club of Jackson County, Taberah Shrine Club of McArthur and Aladdin Temple AAONMS of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Clark Hartley; a son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert L. and Deborah Hartley of Wellston; a grandson, Gilbert E. Hartley of Wellston; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Kenny Nuzum of Urbana; a sister-in-law, Clara Jane Hartley of McArthur; an uncle, Vernon Hartley of McArthur; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Bob" Hartley.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, with the Revs. Danny Wise and Rodney Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday prior to services.
Ronald Hardin
LOGAN - Services for Ronald Roy Hardin, 58, of Logan, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with burial in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphia.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Hardin died Nov. 22, 2000, at his residence.
Born Sept. 4, 1942, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Mable Louise Boyles Hardin. He is survived by his wife., Sara Jean McCann Hardin.
Robert Foreman
NEW MARSHFIELD - Robert E. Foreman, 74, of New Marshfield, died late Wednesday evening, Dec. 6, 2000, at Holzer Medical Center.
Born in Athens County on Aug. 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Raymond and Faye Misner Foreman. He was a retired store clerk for Ohio University, attended Athens High School and was a former employee of United Dairy.
He is survived by a son, Phillip (Suzanne) Foreman of Athens; stepdaughters Karen (Terry) Glasser of Athens and Janet (Dave) Lonas of Albany; a stepson, Ron (Sherry) Windland of Albany; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eloise Darnell of Carrier, Miss.; and brothers Paul and Ben Foreman of Athens and Raymond Foreman of Genoa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, in 1999; and a son, Samuel, in 1971.
Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, conducted by John Elswick, with burial in Athens Memory Gardens.

Robert Brewer
POMEROY - Robert E. Brewer, 60, of Pomeroy, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Middleport, son of the late Floyd A. Brewer and Octa Betz Brewer Ward.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Meigs County Unit, P.O. Box 703, Pomeroy 45769.

Raymond Bails
ATHENS - Raymond H. "Ray" Bails, 87, of Bails Road, Athens, passed away Saturday afternoon, Dec. 2, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 18, 1913, in Guysville, he was the son of the late William Albert and Lenna McNeil Bails. He attended school at Jasper Hill. Mr. Bails was retired from Vanadium Tool Co. after 27 years. He was a veteran of the Army having served in World War II, and was a member of Athens Redman Lodge, Mohawk Tribe.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Anita L. Scott Bails; daughters Betty L. McAllister of Trimble, Linda M. Bails of Glouster and Brenda K. (Clay) Phillips of Athens; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Elias Bails of Athens; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Rose Scott of Albany; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Raymond and Carolyn Ice of Albany; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Diana Scott of Medina; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Jarvis Bails; a sister, Ada Bails Ball; a brother, Clarence Bails; and a son-in-law, Paul McAllister.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, by minister Willard Love, with burial in Asbury Cemetery and military graveside services by the Athens Post VFW.

Ovina Hobocienski
GLOUSTER - Ovina Buza Hobocienski, 81, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Windsor Court Nursing Center in Dublin.
Born May 20, 1919 in Knox, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Theresa Buza. She was the wife of the late Walter Hobocienski. She had retired from Ohio University where she worked in the accounting department. She was a member of Glouster Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Walter F. (Lawana) Hobocienski of Dublin; two grandchildren, Alex and Bryan Hobocienski, both of Dublin; and a sister, Arlene Roman of Asheville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sister Mary Aurtora, BVM., and Beatrice Rice.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at the Glouster Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father John Mucha officiating. Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Glouster.
Friends may call at Cardaras Funeral Home in Glouster on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a wake service at the funeral home on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Nina Damron
CREOLA - Nina Wilburn Damron, 73, of Creola, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Graceland, Ky., daughter of Polina Hamden Wilburn of Ashville and the late Logan Wilburn.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bobby Damron; and a son, Michael Damron.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home in McArthur. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery.

Nancy Blosser
LITTLE HOCKING - Nancy Farley Blosser, 92, of Little Hocking, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born Jan. 16, 1908, in Jackson County, W.Va., daughter of the late David and Martha Baker Wyers. She was retired from Marysville Women's Correctional Facility.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Olis and Lois Farley, and Mel and Roxie Farley, all of Arizona; a daughter, Helen Blankenship of Little Hocking; a brother, Clyde Wyers of Little Hocking; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Farley, to whom she was married for 55 years; her second husband, Lawrence Blosser, to whom she was married for 10 years; four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at White Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. Lee Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Coolville Cemetery.

Millie McVey
ALBANY - Millie D. McVey, 76, of McVey Road, Albany, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Mineral, daughter of the late William H. and Vesta McLead Lowry. She was a housewife and a member of Union Ridge Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard McVey; two daughters, Carol (Benny) Adkins of Grove City and Retha (David) Peters of Albany; two sons, Gary (Orlena) McVey of Marysville and Jerry (Susan) McVey of Galloway; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret and Dorene Kay; a son, Stephen Ray; a daughter-in-law, Marva; two brothers, Noel and Denver Lowry; and two sisters, Bertine Brooks and Margaret Swart.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Union Ridge Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Robert Jividen and Richard Wood officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.
Friends may call at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Albany, Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family in attendance from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
Mildred Ripley
Mildred L. Ripley, 75, of Parkville, Md., formerly of Racine, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Genesis Eldercare Cromwell Nursing Care, Baltimore, Md.
She was born May 13, 1925, in Letart Twp., daughter of the late Orville and Lela Boyd Ripley.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., in the chapel at Letart Falls Cemetery, with burial wil follow. There will be no calling hours.

Mary Van De Mark
NEW STRAITSVILLE - Mary Marjorie Boyle Van De Mark, 77, of Centerview, Mo., formerly of New Straitsville, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo.
She was born May 16, 1923, in New Straitsville, daughter of the late James Lawrence and Myrtle Beatrice Daubenmeyer Boyle.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Van De Mark.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. John Catholic Church in Logan. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, New Straitsville.
Friends may call at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan on Friday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary service planned for 7.

Mary Traphagan
WELLSTON - Mary Garnet Traphagan, 87, of East 12th St., Wellston, died today, Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Jenkins Memorial Health Facility in Wellston.
She was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Richland Twp., Vinton County, daughter of the late Harley Floyd Hutt and Hulda Edna Remy Hutt.
Services will be held Monday, 1 p.m., at Jenkins Funeral Chapel, Wellston. Burial will be in Hamden Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m.
