Helen Niggemeyer
GUYSVILLE- Helen Niggemeyer, 87, of Garden Hill Road, Guysville, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 2000, at Kimes Convalescent Center after an extended illness.
Born may 29, 1913 in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Anna Krivusti Shust. She was a housewife and a homemaker. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and St. John's Catholic Church. She was a graduate of The Plains High School in 1931 and had been a resident of Garden Hill Road for 53 years and a member of St. John's Catholic Ladies Club.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delmar Niggemeyer; two sons, David L. (Judith Ann) Niggemeyer of Mt. Sterling and James Niggemeyer of Guysville; five grandchildren, Vicki Wilson of London, David Niggemeyer, Jr. of Williamsport, Lisa Ann Plank of South Vienna, Douglas (Betsy) Niggemeyer of Columbus, and Jenny (Chad) Perry of Albany; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, John (Jean) Shust, Jr. of Grove City.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte Kay Niggemeyer; an infant granddaughter, Mary Ann Niggemeyer; and two sisters, Louise Vasichko and Rosey Grimes.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Msgr. Donald Horak officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lodi Twp.

Helen Hawk
CARBON HILL - Helen F. Hawk, 92, of Carbon Hill, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Logan Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 10, 1908, in Hocking County, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Erb Locke. She was the wife of the late Fred Hawk.
She retired from Keith's Men Shop in Logan, where she was a seamstress. She was a member of Carbon Hill Methodist Church, where she played the piano for more than 50 years.
She is survived by a son, Richard Neil of Carbon Hill; a daughter, Barbara (Pete) Oblinger of Carbon Hill; grandchildren Fred Hawk, Brenda Koon, Jane Hughes, Joan Michael, Beverly Stivison, Brian Hawk, Jill Byler and Jodi Leach; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Edward Dawley of Carbon Hill.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Keith Hawk; two sisters, Lena Hawk and Verna Dawley; and two brothers, Buster and Howard Locke.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home in Nelsonville, with the Pastor Sharon West officiating. Interment will be in Carbon Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Harry Lee
SHADE - Harry E. "Rass" Lee, 76, of Route 33, Shade, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Glouster, son of the late Guy Erlen and Ethel Myers Lee. He was a World War II Army veteran, and received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a farmer, an avid horseshoe pitcher and coon hunter, and a former member of The Plains VFW.
He is survived by a son, Chuck (Bobbi) Lee of Shade; four daughters, Joann Willard of Millfield, Linda Norris and her fiancé, Floyd Boring, of Shade, Betty (Stu) Blankenship of Pomeroy, and Patty (Dave) Stalling of Chauncey; 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Donna) Lee of Shade; sisters Bessie Goodwin of Albany, Nola Lee, Ida Clark, Lola Sue (David) Bobo and Sandra (Ed) Riley of Athens, Ola Faye Sager of Wakeman, Connie Mayles of Chauncey, Bonnie (Donald) Blair of Columbus, and Flossie (Howard) Keys of The Plains; a stepbrother, Charles (Lynn) Lee of Albany, and a stepsister, Tammy (Rick) Rosser of New Marshfield.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hudnell Lee; three brothers, Homer, Guy E. and Loren Lee; two sisters, Laura Lee and June Cain; a son-in-law, Grove Willard; and his stepmother, Cora Lee.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with Pastor Malcolm Grueser officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Albany VFW Post 9893.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until time of services. The casket will be closed.
Gerald Shuster
POMEROY - Gerald Eugene Shuster, 89, of Lincoln Heights, Pomeroy, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Born on Sept. 27, 1911, he was the son of the late Clara and Nolan Shuster. He was married for more than 65 years to the former Mildred Whaley, who died in April 1999.
Surviving are several cousins and many close friends.
Before his retirement 27 years ago, Mr. Shuster worked on construction job as a pipefitter. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 577. For many years, he and his wife were active in the Middleport Church of Christ. He was a collector of railroad memorabilia and model trains and belonged to a local train club.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Home with Neil Proudfoot officiating. Burial will be in Miles Cemetery at Rutland.

Everett Davidson
ATHENS - Everett R. Davidson, 80, of Luhrig Road in Athens, died early Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 11, 1920, in Bladensburg, Ohio, son of the late Gliss B. and Hattie Berry Davidson. He formerly was employed as a construction foreman with Knowlton Construction Co. and Viesta Construction Co. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a veteran of World War II, having served in the Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion, Athens Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3477 and AMVETS.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Burton Davidson; two daughters, Debra (Steve) Duke of Middleburg, Fla., and Judith (Jerry) Herron of Athens; a son, Henry (Cindy) Chesser of Euclid; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Otis, Dwight and Arthur Davidson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home by Pastor Marwood Hallett. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion will conduct military rites at the cemetery.

Emily Davis
WELLSTON - Emily Lucille Davis, infant daughter of Vanessa Martin and Tom Davis, was stillborn on Nov. 30, 2000, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Besides her parents, she is survived by grandparents Elaine and Wess Bryant and Roger and Melanie Martin. She was preceded in death by grandparents Ed and Virgie Davis.

Ella Devol
LOGAN - Ella D. Devol, 89, of Logan, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Logan Health Care Center.
Born Aug. 18, 1911, in Gore, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Hite Donaldson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan. Burial will be in Carbon Hill Cemetery.

Eldon Barrows
POMEROY - Eldon Barrows, 70, of Myers Road, Pomeroy, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born July 5, 1930, in Bakers Settlement, Athens, son of the late Harold Austin and Mabel Florence Davis Barrows. He was retired from Western Electric/Bell Labs, was a member of Athens First Church of God, Star Grange 778, Ohio State Grange and National Grange, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Greenless Barrows; children Roger, Charlie, Esther and Sharon Barrows of Athens, Darlene (Gregory) Carr of Heath, and Janet Hooper of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Rilla (Bill) Smith of Pomeroy; three grandchildren, including Gregory Carr II and Christian Carr; three step-grandchildren, Lester, Tracy and Luke; a step-great-grandchild, Sabrina; a sister, Dorothy (Harold) Morse of Wellston; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Barrows of New Matamoras.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Davis and Lee E. Barrows; and a sister, Grace Budimier.
Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, with the Revs. William Shepler and Joy Clark officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens, with military graveside rites conducted by Albany VFW Post 9893.

Anna Eckhart
NEW STRAITSVILLE - Anna N. Eckhart, 88, of New Straitsville, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1912, in New Straitsville, daughter of the late James and Phoebe Campbell.
She is survived by a son, William R. Eckhart; and a daughter, Laura Thrapp.
Services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be at New Fairview Mausoleum.

LOGAN - Earl Stanley Redd, 90, of Logan, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.
He was born Aug. 5, 1910, in Perry County, son of the late Levi and Anna Mowery Redd.
Services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Blain Rice
ATHENS - Blain "Pete" Rice, 83, of Route 56, Athens, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 2000, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 18, 1917, in Sand Ridge, W.Va., son of the late Thomas and Martha Lockney Rice. He was a former resident of Hocking and New Marshfield, and a former coal miner and owner of Rice Sanitation Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theatre, where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Victory Medal. He was a life member of New Marshfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Gilham Frank Post 8804, and Hocking Coon Hunters Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Carter Rice; a daughter, Mary Jo (Keith) Gabriel of Athens; sons, Jerry Lee (Sandra) Rice of Jefferson, Ark., and Larry "Tom" Esther Rice of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Jeff Gabriel and Blaine Gabriel of Athens, Jerry Rice of Ector, Texas, Brian Rice of Ann Arbor, Mich., Jennifer Waddell of Monroe, La., Lori Waldeck of Pataskala, and Kathy Murray, Linda Huhn and Larry Rice of Reynoldsburg; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; sisters Essie McKee of New Marshfield and June Prosser of Wadsworth; a brother, Dale (Evelyn) Rice of Athens; and brothers-in-law Robert Carter of New Plymouth, and James Kennard of Athens.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Josephine Rice and Anna Ross; and brothers Marvin, Goff, Finley, Cliffton, Charles and Ralph Rice.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home in Athens, with Pastor David Cogar officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery, with military services conducted by the VFW Honor Guard.

Augusta Hall
POMEROY - Augusta Jean Hall, 62, of 100 E. Memorial Drive, Pomeroy, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, in the extended care unit of Veterans Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1938, in Antiquity, daughter of Jane Snyder Teaford of Pomeroy, and the late James Teaford.
She is also survived by her husband, Sampson Hall.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Ewing Funeral Home. Burial will be in Letart Falls Cemetery.
