GALLIPOLIS -- Mildred E. Lambert, 65, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born July 16, 1937, in Pomeroy, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Fred and Evalene Foley Lemley. She is survived by her husband, John D. Lambert, and daughters Evalene Petty and Patty Russell.
Services will be Monday, 1 p.m., at Fisher Funeral Home, Middleport. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Juanita Nicholson
Died: Wednesday, November 20, 2002
Age: 79
ROCKBRIDGE -- Juanita Nicholson, 79, of Rockbridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in Logan.
Born July 8, 1923, in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Laura Pummel Sharon.
She is survived by sons Fred, Robert, Ed and Jim Nicholson; and daughters Agnes Lucas and Shirley Shahan.
Services will be held Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Galloway.

Patsy Ann Athy
Died: Wednesday, November 20, 2002
Age: 72
WOODSTOCK -- Patsy Ann Athy, 72, of Sunman, Ind., formerly of Woodstock, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Ind.
Born April 23, 1930, in Champaign County, she was the daughter of Mary Keller Stanley of Woodstock and the late Edward Stanley.
Besides her mother, she is survived by two sons, Chris (Jaye) Athy of Sunman, and Jay Athy of Georgetown, Ky.; two grandsons, Samuel Athy and Kevin Athy; and two nephews, David and Rick Stanley.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Athy; and a brother, Richard Stanley.
Graveside services were held today, at Woodstock Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin Horrigan officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Champaign County, 620 S. Burnett Road, Springfield, 45505.
Arrangements are by Freshwater-McDonald Funeral Home in North Lewisburg.
Ricky L. Smith
Died: Wednesday, November 20, 2002
Age: 48
SHADE -- Ricky L. "Bird" Smith, 48, of Shade, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an auto accident.
Born Oct. 14, 1954, in Athens, he was the son of Cecil Smith of Shade and the late Betty Perry Dickens. He was employed with S&J Plumbing and was a former employee of PRO Moving Systems. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 650 of Pomeroy. He was an avid Harley rider and donated a lot of time to ABATE.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jolynn Pedigo Smith; a son and his girlfriend, Kevin Blaine Smith and Cheyene Clonch of Shade; his dog, Angus; a sister, Connie (Jim) Dishong of Shade; four brothers, Ronnie Smith of The Plains, Jeff (Judy) Smith of Shade, David (Jenni) Smith of Shade and Michael Smith of Nelsonville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Beverly Pedigo of Shade; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Drew and Jill Ford of Athens; a sister-in-law, Shari Smith of Athens; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens, with the Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating. Burial will be in Burson Cemetery.

Denver Rawlings
Died: Wednesday, November 20, 2002
Age: 86
ALBANY -- Denver Rawlings, 86, of Albany, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at his home.
Born April 4, 1916, in Harrisonville, he was the son of the late Alva and Daisy Combs Rawlings. A 1936 graduate of Columbia High School, he was a farmer and retired in 1978 from the Athens County Engineer's Road Department. He was a member of Carpenter Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erva Tubbs Rawlings; and a sister, Freda Mae Smith of Albany.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Frederick E. Rawlings, in 1998.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Pastor Edward Brown officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Leonard Holtz
Died: Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Age: 59
WELLSTON -- Leonard "Chris" Holtz, 59, of Wellston, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
Born in Wellston on June 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Leonard and Bertha Watson Holtz. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Norma White Holtz; and children Jeff Holtz and Sherry Hallen.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Christopher Holtz.
Graveside services will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wellston, where military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 371 of Wellston. A wake will follow at the American Legion Hall.
There will be no calling hours.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post 371 for the planting of a memorial tree, or to Wellston First Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are by McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
Paul O. Pullins
Died: Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Age: 67
RACINE -- Paul O. Pullins, 67, of Horse Cave Road, Racine, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
Born Oct. 4, 1935, in Chester, he was the son of Olga Virginia Queen Pullins of Racine and the late Paul O. Pullins Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Pullins.
Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Ewing Funeral Home. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.

William B. Dotson
Died: Monday, November 18, 2002
Age: 69
ALBANY -- William B. Dotson, 69, of Canton, went to his rest on Monday evening, Nov. 18, 2002, in his home, after an extended illness.
Born in Clintwood, Va., he was the son of the late Samuel P. and Eliza Jane Calhoun Dotson. Bill retired from The Timken Co. after 38 years of service and worked parttime for U.S. Cargo. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Canton Lodge 60 F&AM and AASR Valley of Canton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest, Robert, Warren G., Cecil and Paul Dotson; and his sisters, AnnaLee, Helen and Marie.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Buchman Dotson, to whom he was married for 43 years; daughters Donna Dudley and her fiancˇ Kenneth Oliver of Perry Twp., Barbara and her husband Rodney Carleton of Louisville, and Kathryn Dotson of the home; grandchildren Keith A. Dotson and Tara June Dudley; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Alexander Cemetery, Athens County, with the Rev. Larry Wolfe officiating.
Friends may call at Schneeberger Funeral Home, 2222 Fulton Road N.W., Canton, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., where Canton Lodge 60 will conduct Masonic services at 6:45.

Joseph David Malone

WILKESVILLE -- Joseph David Malone, 50, of Wilkesville, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.
Born April 4, 1952, in Columbus, he was the son of Frances McCarty Malone of Wilkesville and the late George C. Malone.

Marvin Partlow
Died: Monday, November 18, 2002
Age: 71
McARTHUR -- Marvin "Pete" Partlow, 71, of McArthur, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
Born June 27, 1931, in McArthur, he was the son of the late Eva Partlow Hiser. He was a lineman and supervisor for American Electric Power for 36 years, a member of McArthur First Christian Church, Delta Lodge 207 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus and Aladdin Temple Shrine. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Dian Warren Partlow; daughters Bobbie Partlow of Bradenton, Fla., and Kelly Barnett of McArthur; and three grandchildren, Cami, Derek and Lacie Barnett.
Services will be held Sunday, at 2 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, with the Revs. Walter Goble and Danny Wise officiating. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery.

Martha Elizabeth Burns

MIDDLEPORT -- Martha Elizabeth Burns, 91, of Middleport, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born March 2, 1911, in Bradbury, she was the daughter of the late Earl Clinton and Margaret Mae Burford Archer.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Margaret Lewis and Carolyn Roush. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Burns.
Graveside services will be Thursday, 12:30 p.m., at Riverview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home, Middleport.
Bessie E. Saxton

CHESHIRE -- Bessie E. Saxton, 76, of Cheshire, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born Aug. 25, 1926, in Point Pleasant, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William A. and Ella Blanche Gardner. She is survived by sons Leslie, Billy Ray and Homer Saxton; and daughters Henrietta Hysell, Ruth Sims and Brenda Hoffman.
Services will be Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
