Alfred Darby Sr.
Died: Thursday, May 30, 2002
GLOUSTER -- Alfred T. Darby Sr., 92, of Glouster, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Pine Hills Care Center, Nelsonville.
Born Nov. 30, 1909, in Hemlock, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anna Buchman Darby. He was a coal miner and a member of Greens Run Christian Church.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred T. and Wilma Darby Jr. of Trimble, and the Rev. Kenneth and Sandra Darby of Albany; daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Robert Roberts of The Plains, Sherry and Ralph Sabo of Marion, and Pamela Darby of Glouster; six grandsons, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; a brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Marie Darby of Doylestown; and a sister, Hazel Clark of Dayton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Etta S. Darby, who passed away on Jan. 14, 1998; a great-great-grandson, Nathan Parks; brothers Donald and Clarence; sisters Deloris, Olive and Ida; a grandson, Michael Roberts; and granddaughters Carale and Lisa Roberts.
Services will be held Monday, 1 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, with the Rev. Steven Bentley officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Athens County.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Pearl Fuller
Died: Wednesday, May 29, 2002
WELLSTON -- Pearl E. Fuller, 92, of Wellston, a resident of Edgewood Manor, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at the facility.
Born April 22, 1910, in Berlin, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edward and Estella Aldrige Fuller. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn E. Laudermilk.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred G. Fuller.
Services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston, with graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 371.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
Geneva Leonard
Died: Tuesday, February 26, 2002
MIDDLEPORT -- Geneva Leonard, 79, of Millwood, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Millwood.
Born Dec. 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith Hoffman King.
She is survived by a son, Harry David Leonard.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Leonard.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Fisher Funeral Home in Middleport. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Louise Moore
Died: Tuesday, February 26, 2002
ATHENS -- Louise Butts Dillinger Moore, 86, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Mount Carmel Medical Center.
She was retired from Bank One after 30 years of service and attended the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Moore Sr.; and a daughter, Mary Ellen Henson.
Her survivors include her children, Willard E. (Clara) Dillinger of London, Ohio, Yveta (Kay) Peterson of Columbus, and Charles Jerry (Linda) Dillinger of Galloway; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Rutherford-Shroyer Funeral Home, 1278 W. Broad St., Columbus.
A graveside service will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at South Canaan Cemetery in Athens County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Glendon Ward
Died: Tuesday, February 26, 2002
LOGAN -- Glendon W. Ward, 89, of Westerville, formerly of Logan, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Westerville.
Born Dec. 19, 1912, in Vinton County, he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Belle A. Robb Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Elouise Miller Ward; and a daughter, Nancy Thomas.
Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Combined Veterans Organizations of Hocking County.

Joseph Stafford
Died: Saturday, February 23, 2002
ALBANY -- Joseph H. Stafford, 78, of Route 143, Albany, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
Born Feb. 18, 2002, in Muscle Shoals, Ala., he was the son of the late Harry L. and Mildred Graham Stafford. He was retired from National ACME and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Kaaren Elizabeth Shannon Stafford; a son, Jerry Stafford of Elberton, Ga.; daughters Paula Houston of Shadyside, Lisa Greig of Wheeling, W.Va., and Alicia Grimes of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; and a brother, Harry Butch Stafford of Aberdeen.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Grace, and two brothers, Harold Ray and Robert Lee.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at Athens Memory Gardens, with Pastor John Elkswick officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Albany VFW Post 9893.
Friends may call at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Albany, on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carpenter Baptist Church.
Lindsay Bolin
Died: Wednesday, February 20, 2002
RUTLAND -- Lindsay Kae Bolin, 16, of Rutland, went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, due to a tragic automobile accident.
She was born on July 30, 1985, in Athens, daughter of Brent A. and Camille S. Bolin.
Lindsay was a junior at Meigs High School and was active in Student Council, French Club and Natural Helpers. She played basketball and softball, always giving 110 percent because she loved the thrill of competition. Lindsay was a 4-H member for the last eight years, always excelling in every project. She took and provided leadership roles, and was an honor student with a beautiful, outgoing personality. She was full of life, love and energy, and attended Danville Holiness Church.
Surviving besides her parents are two brothers, Clayton and Cameron Bolin, at home; grandparents Joe and Janet Bolin of Rutland, and E. Ned and Sharon Swindell of Shade; aunts and uncles Rick and Brenda Bolin, Brenda and Mike Loper, Craig Bolin, Paula Chancey and Monte Swindell; great-aunts and great-uncles Gloria (Robert) McIntosh and Rebecca (Garry) Hunter of Athens, Philip (Laura) Swindell of Davie, Fla., Alan (Terri) Swindell of Shade, Patty (Dale) Arnold of Snowville, and Rhea Douglas of Albany; cousins Derrick and Brook Bolin, Zach, Josh and Adrian Bolin, Kyle and Holley Loper, Mindy Chancey and Jacob Swindell; and also a very special person in her life, Justin Gilmore.
Passing from this life before Lindsay were her great-grandparents, Cecil and Helen Bolin, Henry and Grace Turner, Howard and Clara Swindell, and Harold and Margery Douglas; and a great-uncle, Vernon Douglas.
Services will be held Sunday, 1 p.m., at Danville Holiness Church, with the Rev. Gary Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Miles Cemetery.

June Mullins
Died: Wednesday, February 20, 2002
COOLVILLE -- June M. Mullins, 72, of Coolville, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at her residence.
Born Oct. 16, 1929, in Grantsville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Darley and Effie Lucas Allen. She is survived by her husband, George Mullins Jr.; sons Steven, George III and David Mullins; and daughers Peggy Mullins and Sandra Dye.
Services will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at Torch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Torch Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by White-Moquin Funeral Home, Coolville.
Lillian Drake
Died: Monday, February 18, 2002
JACKSONVILLE -- Lillian M. Drake, 84, of Jacksonville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at the home of her son.
Born April 23, 1917, in Buchtel, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Ruth Rittenberry Russell. She was the widow of John W. Drake.
She is survived by a son, William E. (Shirley) Drake of Albany; three granddaughters, Christy (Michael) Shust of Jacksonville, Janet (Kent) Cline of The Plains, and Beverly Herd of The Plains; six great-grandchildren, three step-granddaughters, seven step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Elaine) Russell of Logan; a sister, Alice Soles of Buchtel; a sister-in-law, Melvena Russell of Buchtel; and a friend, Marie Paskivitch of Jacksonville. Special thanks to Kathy Hardy of Corning for helping take care of her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Russell.
Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home in Glouster, with the Rev. Gordon Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel.
