Donald Jay Gibbs

Age: 45
ATHENS - Donald Jay “Donnypoo” Gibbs, 45, of Prospect, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003.
Born Jan. 26, 1958, in Columbus, he was the son of Jacob L. and Edith L. Gardner Gibbs of Columbus. He was a construction worker employed by Trucco Construction of Powell, an avid fisherman who enjoyed nature, and a loving father and uncle.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa and Ashley of Athens; his former wife, Karen Gibbs of Athens; a special friend, Cindy Kelley of Lima; a niece, Brittney; a nephew, Jeffrey; three sisters, Laura Garcelon of Michigan, Christina Ott of Prospect and Robin Osborne of Columbus; and two brothers, David Gibbs of California and Richard Gibbs of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Valerie.
A memorial service will be held today, 7 to 9 p.m., at Ohio University Inn and Conference Center in Athens. Arrangements are by Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect.

Donna Knox
Died: Saturday, September 20, 2003
Age: 90
ATHENS - Donna Knox, 90, of Athens, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at her home.
Born July 5, 1913, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Destina Bean Love.
Donna is retired from the housekeeping division at Ohio University. She was a life member of The Plains VEW, donated countless hours to the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
Donna is survived by a son, Donald (Joan) Knox Sr. of Coppers Cove, Texas; four grandchildren, Jerry “Fred” Woodruff Jr. of The Plains, Kelly (John) Sebring of Chauncey, Donald (Linda) Knox Jr. of Texas and Darryl Knox of Texas; a sister, Dorothy Nell Cunningham of The Plains; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her three daughters, Jennie Woodruff, Freda Howard and Bonnie Knox; a brother, Watson Love; a sister, Queen Lowery; and a grandson, Dwayne Knox.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. John Elswick officiating. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Cemeter.

Chloe B. Stotts

Age: 90
NEW MARSHFIELD - Chloe B. Stotts, 90, of New Marshfield, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at her home. She left us to be with our Lord and her husband, Paul.
Born Aug. 3, 1913, in Zaleski, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Jason and Lillie Hudnell Brickles. Chloe dedicated her life to her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons and their families, Paul Lee (Nancy) Stotts of New Marshfield, Richard Gail (Bernita) Stotts of New Marshfield, Gary Vern (Lynn) Stotts of Grove City and Terry Curtis (Laura) Stotts of Logan; a brother, Raymond Brickles of McArthur; a sister, Theta Mayes of Plain City; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Everett Stotts; two brothers, Silas Brickles and Richard Brickles; a sister, Lucille LeMay; and a great-great-grandson, Zakib Sarnes.
Services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Owen Stotts officiating. Burial will be at Mount Herman Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

Harold R. Osborne

Age: 81
LONG BOTTOM - Herald R. Osborne, 81, of Long Bottom, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Born Aug. 14, 1922, in Keno, he was the son of the late Mont and Edith Stetham Osborne. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Osborne, and sons Gary, Roger and Gale.
Services will be Monday, 1 p.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery.

Harry L. McGraw
Died: Friday, September 19, 2003
Age: 83
ATHENS - Harry L. McGraw, 83, of Athens, died Friday evening, Sept. 19, 2003, at his home.
Born Aug. 28, 1920, in Sioux City, Iowa, he was the son of the late Cleber and Marzella Marsh McGraw.
Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty McGraw; four sons, Michael (Margaret) McGraw of Athens, Douglas (Cynthia) McGraw of St. Louis, Mo., James (Barbara) McGraw of Ankeny, Iowa, and Kevin McGraw of Sioux City, Iowa; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in Sioux City, Iowa, at the family’s convenience. Local arrangements are being handled by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens.

LOGAN - Eunice E. “Bea” Goss, 86, of Logan, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Logan.
Born Jan. 5, 1917, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Anna Marie Miller Stone.

LOGAN - Gary T. Cook II, 29, of Heath, formerly of Logan, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, as the result of an auto accident in Licking County.
Born Dec. 28, 1973, in Logan, he was the son of Gary T. Cook and Debbie Hamrick Thimmes, both of Logan. He was married to Jeannine Disbennett Cook, who survives.
Services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan. Cremation will follow, with burial in Newark Memorial Gardens.

MIDDLEPORT - Sherman Buskirk Jr., 78, of Middleport, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, in Middleport.
Born April 23, 1925, in Vinton County, he was the son of the late Sherman Buskirk Sr. and Effie Wyatt Buskirk. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Broderick, and a son, Mike Buskirk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Artie Mae Buskirk.
Services will be Monday, 1 p.m., at Fisher Funeral Home, Middleport. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery.

Claudia Gail Llewellyn
Died: Thursday, September 18, 2003
NEW MARSHFIELD - Claudia Gail Llewellyn Pierce of Commercial Point died peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born April 9, 1937, she was the the daughter of the late Roy and Ardeth Llewellyn. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Max, Bill, Laird, Virgene and Marion.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles “Charlie”; sons Rex (Donna) and Rickey (Teresa), and grandchildren Nathan, Claudia and Elizabeth, all of Grove City; sisters, Kathy (Charles) Llewellyn and Pat Llewellyn, both of New Marshfield, Carolyn Babcock of Michigan and Margaret Byrd of The Plains; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail was a member of Gilham Frank Ladies Auxiliary Post 8804 of New Marshfield. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing bingo at Our Lady and, in recent years, watching motorcycle racing. Everyone will sadly miss her.
Services will be held Monday, 2 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home, Ashville, with Pastor Bud Brown officiating. Burial will be in Beckett Cemetery.
