POMEROY- Laura L. Harrison, 66, of Pomeroy, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Pomeroy.
Born Oct. 22, 1936, she was the daughter of Matilda Hunt Rowley of Pomeroy and the late Wilbur Rowley Sr.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Harrison.
She is survived by her children, Johnnie and Dannie Harrison.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Fisher Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.

Mary M. Caster
Died: Thursday, June 19, 2003
Age: 84
THE PLAINS - Mary M. Caster, 84, of The Plains, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 19, 2003. She had been a resident of Hickory Creek Nursing Home.
She was a member of The Plains United Methodist Church and the Naomi Sunday school class.
Born April 26, 1919, in Torch, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charley F. and Bessie Russell Willett.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Don Sycks of The Plains; a granddaughter, Lori (Todd) Conrad of Cincinnati; and a sister, Elma (Jim) Allen of Waterford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in 1965.
Services will be Sunday, 2 p.m. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating. Burial will be at Alexander Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.
Everett Knox
Died: Thursday, June 19, 2003
Age: 84
WELLSTON - Everett Knox of Bulaville Pike, Gallipolis, formerly a resident of the Wellston community, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2003, at the age of 84. He had been a patient at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Chillicothe for the past seven months, as the result of an injury.
Born Aug. 23, 1918, at Vales Mill, he was the son of the late Clement and Charity. He married Matilda Jane Brown on Feb. 4, 1946. She preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 1995. He also was predeceased by a son, four sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by a sister, Elsie Bratton of Hamden; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Darlene Knox of Gallipolis; three grandchildren, Frank Taylor of Bowling Green, Paula Knox of Gallipolis and Paul Knox of Atlanta, Ga.; and a great-grandson, Kruz Allen White, of Gallipolis.
Mr. Knox was a retired home and building remodeler in and around the Wellston area for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was the recipient of two Service Medals, as well as two Bronze Stars. He was a 30-year member of American Legion Post 371 of Wellston. His attitude toward life and his humor will be missed by the many who have known him through the years.
Services will be held Monday, 1 p.m., at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home, 120 W. Broadway, Wellston, with the Rev. A.B. Maloy officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 371. Friends and family will serve as pall bearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
Edna Estelle Wilder

Age: 89
LOGAN - Edna Estelle Wilder, 89, of Galion, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, in Logan.
Born Aug. 11, 1913, in Barbourville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late George and Patricia Parton Perkins. She is survived by a son, James L. Wilder.

Anna Pearl Williams

Age: 97
STEWART - Anna Pearl Williams, 97, of Stewart, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, June 18, 2003, at Arcadia Nursing Home, Coolville.
She was born March 4, 1906, in Meigs County, daughter of the late Melvin and Eva Lula Moore Sargent. She loved quilting and was formerly in a quilting circle. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Athens Senior Citizens Center and Shade United Methodist Church, and attended Stewart United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children, Eva Lewis of Huntington, W.Va., Rogert (Jane) Williams of Franklin, Ky., Roma Lee Chrislip of Coolville and Joyce (Dean) Browning of Guysville; an adopted daughter, Vicki Lou Phillips of Meigs County; a stepgrandson raised in the home, Jerry Lee Frye of Virginia; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Williams, on June 17, 1979; two sons, Earl Everett and Fletcher Milan Williams; and three brothers.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with John Elswick officiating. Burial will be in Burson Cemetery, Shade.

REEDSVILLE - Willetta E. Abbott, 85, of Reedsville, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Arcadia Nursing Home, Coolville.
Born March 25, 1918, in Middleport, she was the daughter of the late William and Marietta McCormick Farley. She is survived by her husband, Harold Abbott, and a son, Richard Abbott.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire. There will be no calling hours.

Estella M. Savage

Age: 88
JACKSONVILLE - Estella M. Savage, 88, of Jacksonville, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens.
Born Feb. 16, 1915, in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William T. and Orianna Clingan Metheny. She was the widow of the late Walter Savage.
She was the former owner of Walt’s Place in Beaumont and Stella’s in Jacksonville. A lifetime member of the Jacksonville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9866, Chauncey AMVETS Post 53 and Jacksonville Eagles Post 1034.
She is survived by two sons, Walter “Terry” (Nancy) Savage and David (Kaye) Savage, both of Athens; two daughters, Donna Martin of Florida and Maureen Savage of The Plains; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Olive Renner of Lynhurst; special friends Tom (Janet) Courtney and Francis Nogrady of Jacksonville; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to all health care providers and aides, and special thanks to Dr. Giri.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a son, Milton Savage.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, 7 p.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster, with the Rev. Gary Alton officiating.

LOGAN - The Rev. Jacob Lehman, 85, of Logan, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his residence.
Born Sept. 12, 1917, in Haydenville, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Leona B. Ingram Lehman.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn E. Love Lehman; a son, the Rev. Timothy Lehman; and daughters Constance Delong and Marilyn St. Clair.
Services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at New Hope United Methodist Church, Gore. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery, Perry County, with military rites by American Legion Post 376 of Junction City.
Friends may call at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services. The American Legion will conduct services at the funeral home on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Alice B. Cornell
Died: Saturday, August 30, 2003
Age: 80
ATHENS - Alice B. Cornell, 80, of Athens, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1923, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Bertha Jane Moore Moore. Alice was a loving and caring person who volunteered in area nursing homes for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alfred Cornell; a son, John Cornell of Athens; two brothers, Daniel Moore and Kenneth (Karen) Moore, both of Nelsonville; and three sisters, Ruther Kepler of Orrville, Jean Skivers of Nelsonville and Joan (Keith) Palmer of Athens.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Cornell; a brother, Clyde Moore; and a sister, Dorothy Johnson.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, 1 p.m., at New Marshfield Cemetery with Bill O’Brien officiating.
