McARTHUR - Theresa F. Collins West, 91, of Hillsboro, formerly of Vinton County, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at her residence.
Born Aug. 18, 1911, in Radcliff, she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin “Frank” and Sarah Belle Sanford Collins. She is survived by children Martha Doss, Sue Lemley, Linda West and Frank West. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Marion West Sr.
Services will be held Sunday, 3 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur. Burial will be in Radcliff Cemetery.

Age: 82
POMEROY - Vernon J. Evans, 82, of Pomeroy, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Overbrook Center, Middleport.
Born Jan. 6, 1921, in Meigs County, he was the son of the late Clay and Eulah Johnson Evans. He is survived by children Janice S. Evans, Jayne Graham and Joyce Morarity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Evans.
Services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at Ewing Funeral Home, Pomeroy. Burial will be in Rocksprings Cemetery.

Stuart T. Brewer

Age: 62
POMEROY - Stuart T. Brewer, 62, of Columbus, died Monday, July 28, 2003.
He was a United States Army veteran and fleet manager for Johnson’s Industrial Catering. Over the years, Stu attended Darbydale Church of the Nazarene, Monte Vista Church of the Nazarene, Brown Road Community Church and was attending Community Christian Church. He was a former Sunday school teacher, church bus driver and church trustee, and had taken several mission trips to Belize, Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico.
Stu is survived by his loving wife, Carol; a daughter, Amie M. Fugett of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Stuart T. (Charlotte) Brewer II of London, Ky.; grandchildren Amanda and Kara Fugett, and C, Jeremy and Katie Burns; brothers Bill Brewer and Walter Brewer; and sisters, Dorothy Janey and Martha Wess.
Services will be held today, 6 p.m., at Schoedinger-Norris Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, with the Revs. Phil Reynolds and Mark Matson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Local services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Fisher Funeral Home, Pomeroy, with calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Miles Cemetery, Rutland.

ATHENS - Mary B. Conte, 66, of Athens, passed away in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Stanley Smathers, on Monday evening, July 28, 2003. Our beloved sister has gone to be with her husband, Salvatore Conte, in the arms of our Lord.
She was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Albany, daughter of the late William and Bessie Barnhouse Bolin.
Besides her sister, Lois (Stanley) Smathers, she is survived by another sister, Debbie (Rusty) Perry; three brothers, Charles (Judy) Bolin, James (Barb) Bolin and Tony (Sue) Bolin; two stepchildren, Pam Conte-Delisi and Joe (Nancy) Conte; three granddaughters and a grandson; a special niece and nephew, Nina and Michael Pietrangelo; and several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Voorhees and Mabel Waterman.
There will no calling hours or services. Arrangements are being handled by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens.

Rose Neal Wiseman

PATRIOT - Rosa Neal Wiseman, 96, of Patriot, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Holzer Senior Care Center.
Born Nov. 29, 1906, in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lula Wagoner Stewart. She was married to Glen Wiseman, who preceded her in death on June 30, 1986. Mrs. Wiseman was a bookkeeper and school board clerk for Cadmus School District, and also served as a school board member. She was a member of Waterloo United Methodist Church and Waterloo Grange.
She is survived by five daughters, Helen (Richard) Wesney of Wheelersburg, Phyllis Wiseman of Gallipolis, Margaret Ashworth of Nelsonville, Sue (Bob) Ruff of Thurman and Mary (Tom) Keys of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Wiseman of Harrison; a sister, Georgia Shelton of Matson; 20 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wiseman; a son, Charles Joe Wiseman, in 1995; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Joe and Dan Stewart; and a sister, Mary Luman.
Services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis, with Pastor Billy Goodall officiating. Burial will be in Flag Spring Cemetery.

ATHENS - Hazel Louise Hales, 88, of Athens, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, June 25, 2003, at Russell Nursing Home, Albany.
Born July 14, 1914, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Theodore H. and Gertrude W. Reuter Neutzling. A graduate of Athens High School, she was formerly employed at Cline’s Drug Store and McBee Corp. She was a member of Central Avenue United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Dale) Hails of Fayetteville, Ark.; a grandson, Zach Hails of Lancaster; and a great-grandson, Austin Hails of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Jiggs” Hails, in 1973; and brothers Harry “Pete” Neutzling, Paul Neutzling and W. Scott Neutzling.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, conducted by Minister Willard Love. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery.
