ATHENS - Linda Ann Puddington, 43, of Morrisville, N.Y., died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at the home of her parents and daughter in Munnsville, N.Y.
Born Aug. 13, 1960, in Dayton, she was the daughter of David G. and D. Jean Hinton Puddington. She was a 1979 graduate of Athens High School. She is survived by children Shannon Puddington and Lance Gormley.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Morrisville Community Church. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, Ohio.
Friends may call at Burgess and Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

John W. Green

COOLVILLE - John W. Green, 66, of Unity Plaza, Parkersburg, W.Va., formerly of Dallison, W.Va., died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.
John was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Mineral Wells, W.Va., son of the late Clarence R. and Helen L. Marty Green. He attended New Era School and Parkersburg High School. He had worked for Roy L. Smith Meat Market and Camp meat packing for several years. He enjoyed CB radios and went by the handle “Meatcutter.” He was a member of Broadway Church of the Nazarene and so appreciated his Pastor Harold Custer’s teaching.
He is survived by two sisters, Mildred Loughery of Parkersburg and Mabel Stevens of Dallison; two brothers, Lester Green of Coolville and Richard Green of Williamstown; and his special friend, Glenna Blackwell of Parkersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Miller.
Services will be held today, 2 p.m., at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, on Pike Street south of Parkersburg, with the Rev. Keith Hostutler officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Lost Pavement Road.
Visitation will held today, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Jennings L. Mollohan

COOLVILLE - Jennings L. Mollohan, 83, of Coolville, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Arcadia Nursing Center, Coolville.
Born July 15, 1920, in Anmoore, W.Va., he was the son of the late William and Myrtle Postewait Mollohan. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Bill, Pete and David Mollohan; and a daughter, Jane Daggett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madis Mollohan.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville. Burial will be in Coolville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntington’s Disease research, in care of the family.

Jeffrey E. Freer
Died: Saturday, October 04, 2003
Age: 55
NELSONVILLE - Jeffrey E. Freer, 55, of Nelsonville, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Born Dec. 19, 1947, in Columbus, he was the son of Norma Orahood Freer-Godenschwager of Nelsonville and the late James F. Freer. The retired journeyman ironworker served in the Army during the Vietnam era. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3467 of Nelsonville and Nelsonville Elks Lodge 543. He was a graduate of Nelsonville High School and received an associates degree from Hocking Technical College. Some of his work as an ironworker was at Longaberger Basket in Newark, Epcot Center in Florida and the State Office Tower in Columbus. He was a fan and a lover of cars.
He is survived by his wife, Carissa D. Smith Freer; sons, Jeffrey E. (Heather) Freer II of Nelsonville and Jesse J. Freer of the home; daughters, Holly M. Freer of Fort Pierce, Fla., Cassandra Freer of Jacksonville, Fla., and Angel C. Freer of Nelsonville; stepsons Toby (Carol) Dishong of Iowa and Cole J. Snyder of the home; brothers, Mike (Peggy) Freer, Dave Freer, Steve Freer and Von (Brenda) Godenschwager, all of Nelsonville, and George (Jolene) Godenschwager of Carbon Hill; a sister, Christine (Richard) Lehman of Nelsonville; and special friend Bill Howe of Amesville.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Godenschwager.
Funeral services are Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Tim Kelly officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit on Friday, 1 p.m., at Pedigo Ridge Cemetery near Nelsonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Donald N. Swanson

THE PLAINS - Donald N. Swanson, 91, of The Plains, formerly of The Lindley Inn, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Kimes Convalescent Center in Athens.
He was born Feb. 24, 1912, in North Dakota, son of the late Edward and Sadie Swanson. He was the husband of the late Ruby Overby Swanson.
He is survived by a daughter, Connie Phillips of The Plains; grandchildren Ronald (Becky), Jon (Kim), Dennis, Brian and Susan; great-grandchildren Patrick, Robert and Alexis Norway and several other great-grandchildren in California; and a brother, Dale (Pat) Swanson of Los Angeles.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Donald was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Robert “Bob” Swanson, and sisters Kay and Marlis Hartsell.
A memorial service will take place Monday, 7 p.m., at The Lindley Inn, 9000 Hocking Hills Drive, The Plains, with John Wright officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Donald’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
Kathleen L. Higgins

ROCKBRIDGE - Kathleen L. (Gerber) Higgins, 80, of Rockbridge, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Willow Brook Christian Home in Worthington.
Born Nov. 17, 1922, in Marietta, she was the daughter of Floyd and Zelda Caskin Gerber.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Higgins.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan. Interment will be in Homestead Cemetery, Rockbridge.

WELLSTON - Katherine S. Kisor, 83, of Wellston, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at her residence.
Born Oct. 18, 1920, in Wellston, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Florence Smith Lenegar. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Kisor; sons David P., Howard G., Bert D. and William R.; and a great-grandson, Terry Kerr, who was raised in the home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Kisor.
Services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
