PARKERSBURG - Sarah Kathryn Wilson, 76, of Parkersburg, formerly of Athens, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at her residence.
Born in Parkersburg, she was the daughter of Thelma M. Milhoan Thorne of Parkersburg and the late J. Cecil Thorne.
She was a 1945 graduate of Wirt County High School and attended West Virginia University. She was a member of the Elizabeth (W.Va.) Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and recently was recipient of her 50-year pin. She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Crusaders Class.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ward Wilson of Parkersburg; her daughter, Barbara K. Williams of Parkersburg; her son, Mike Wilson, and his wife, Anne, of Newark; her grandchildren, Amanda K. Bunner and Cassie L. Dowler, both of Vienna, W.Va., and Paul Wilson, Patrick Wilson, Jennifer Wilson and Katie Wilson, all of Newark; and a brother, J. Cecil Thorne Jr. of Parkersburg.
Funeral services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul M. Stadelman officiating. Burial will be in K of P Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Lewis E. Smith

POMEROY - Lewis E. Smith, 67, of Pomeroy, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Pomeroy.
Born Feb. 12, 1936, in Pomeroy, he was the son of the late Ed Jay and Freda Cheatham Smith. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Parker Smith of Pomeroy, and children Sherri and Michael Smith.
Private services will be conducted, with burial in Meigs Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home, Pomeroy.

Okey Foltz
Died: Thursday, July 31, 2003
Age: 70
NELSONVILLE - Okey Foltz, 70, of Nelsonville, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2003, at his residence.
Born Nov. 24, 1932, in Logan, he was the son of the late Joe H. and Marie Clark Foltz. He was the husband of Sondra Kirkendall Foltz of Nelsonville.
Okey was a well-known oil, water and gas well driller. He was co-owner of Oakdale Drilling and owner of Shamrock water well drilling. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Logan Moose Lodge, Logan AMVETS, Lancaster American Legion, Oil and Gas Association and Brass Ring Golf Club, and was past exalted ruler of the former Logan Elks.
In addition to his wife, Sondra, he is survived by two sons, Kimm (Cindy) Foltz of Logan and Kelly (Sharon) Foltz of Nelsonville; two stepsons, Kris (Shelly) Hoce of Canfield and Charley (Joanele) Hoce of West Manchester; two daughters, Joy VonVille of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Natalie (Dave) Cosper of Logan; a stepdaughter, Marjilou Cardaras of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; and two sisters, Joann (William) Vaughn and Helen Baird, both of Logan.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. At the request of Okey, his body was cremated. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

POMEROY - Edward Lee Laudermilt, 59, of Pomeroy, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Pomeroy.
Born Jan. 13, 1944, in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Orland A. and Alberta Mae Smith Laudermilt.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Carr Laudermilt; sons Edward Lee Jr., Lee and Michael Paul Laudermit; daughters Evelyn Hoffman, Teresa Gillian and Missy Witt; and stepdaughters Loretta Goode and Christy Martin.
Services will be Saturday, 7 p.m., at Fisher Funeral Home, Pomeroy, where friends may call from 5 until the time of service.
B. Richard Whitmer
Died: Saturday, July 19, 2003
Age: 80
ATHENS - B. Richard Whitmer, 80, died unexpectedly at his home in Athens on July 19, 2003.
Born Sept. 2, 1922, in New Holland, he was an Eagle Scout and served his country from the early days of the Normandy Invasion, into Germany, during World War II.
He grew up in Columbus, but moved to Urbana in 1959. He was CEO of Perpetual Federal from 1967-75, was past president of the Urbana Chamber of Commerce and was on the board of Urbana College.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Francoise; two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Ward of Athens and Christine (Jim) Lentz of Chicago; four grandchildren, Matt (Jessica) Ward, Benjamin Ward, Stephanie Lentz and Andrew Lentz; two sisters, a brother, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

LOGAN - Grace I. Agan, 86, of Bremen, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation-Homestead of Lancaster.
She was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Hocking County, daughter of the late Walter and Ida Coe Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Agan. She was a member of the Peoples Church of Logan, and also a graduate of the Ward Rural Carbon Hill High School class of 1937.
She is survived by a brother, Roy Cunningham of Bremen; sister-in-law Nina Cunningham of Columbus; special nephew Gerald “Doobie” Dodds of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Cunningham, Thomas Cunningham, William Cunningham, Chester Cunningham and Lester Cunningham, and by two sisters, Myrtle Roush and Martha Thompson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Roger Fidler officiating. Burial will be in The Plains Cemetery.

BREMEN - Grace I. Agan, 86, of Bremen, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Homestead, Lancaster.
Born Feb. 15, 1917, in Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ida Coe Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Agan.
