HAYDENVILLE -- Fanny Catherine Gastin, 83, of McConnelsville, formerly of Haydenville, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the home of a daughter.
Born March 31, 1919, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Hickman Wolfe.
She is survived by sons, Mark and Michael Gastin; and daughters, Cathy Robson, Norma Jean Gastin and Mary Louise Hull.
Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Logan Church of God. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston.
Friends may call at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.

William L. Shivers
Died: Monday, March 24, 2003
Age: 79
BUCHTEL -- William L. Shivers, 79, of Lancaster, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 24, 2003, at his residence.
He was born in 1924 in Lansing, Mich., and moved to Buchtel as a child. After years of employment as an auditor for the state of Ohio and for Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, he moved to the Lancaster area where he was a well-respected CPA for more than 30 years. Dedicated to his profession, he was still working until the time of his death.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Shirley Shivers; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Shivers and Mike Atrostic of Lancaster; sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Frances Shivers of Lancaster, and Donald Shivers of Columbus; three grandchildren, Robert Shivers, Carrie Stewart and Jenniver Shivers; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Ketler of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Wilma Shivers; a grandson, Richard Shivers; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Shivers.
William will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Dupler officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Laura Frederiksen
Died: Thursday, January 30, 2003
Age: 49
ATHENS -- Laura Frederiksen, 49, of Athens, died Thursday morning, Jan. 30, 2003, at her home.
She is the daughter of Lester H. and Jean M. Wallden Frederiksen of Long Boat Key, Fla., and was born July 15, 1953, in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y.
Ms. Frederiksen was a school teacher for 28 years. She taught special education and elementary school. A teacher of grades 1 and 2 at Chauncey Elementary School for 18 years, she was site-based coordinator for Ohio University-Chauncey Literacy Partnership. She was a graduate of Glassboro State College and Ohio University.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Kelmer; a daughter, Gretchen Frederiksen Kelmer of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Janet (Richard) Wilson of Huntington, W.Va., Louise (Jim Muchow) Frederiksen of Skokie, Ill., and Kate (Daniel) Mount of State College, Pa; a niece and four nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Laura Frederiksen Memorial Fund, Chauncey PTO, P.O. Box 225, Chauncey, Ohio 45719.
Arrangements are by Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
Pauline Knowlton
Died: Thursday, January 30, 2003
Age: 90
NELSONVILLE -- Pauline Knowlton, 90, of Nelsonville, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Logan Health Care Center.
Born June 10, 1912, in Johnsbury, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Stearns Finley. She was a homemaker and a member of Nelsonville First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her grandsons, Rod (Teresa) Knowlton of Wentsville, Mo., and Ken Knowlton of Florissant, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter, Bryanne.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Knowlton, on Aug. 10, 1982; and a son, Gordon Knowlton.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Gary Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.

LOGAN -- Edna Marie Page, 78, of Logan, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born March 28, 1924, in Greendale, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Jennie Marie Lambert Dye. She is survived by her husband, Nelson Henry Page.
Services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.

Candida Paradiso Rinaldi
Died: Thursday, January 30, 2003
NEW MARSHFIELD -- Candida Paradiso Rinaldi passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003.
She was born July 28, 1909, in Chieuti, Italy, near Foggia, to George and Cecilia Orlando Paradiso. She immigrated to the United States when she was 2 years old. Her family settled in Cleveland on East 124th Place in the Little Italy neighborhood. She attended Murray Hill School and graduated from East High School on East 82nd and Wade Park.
She began working at GE-Nela Park at age 18 until 1942 when World War II broke out, then she went to work for Jack & Heintz building automatic pilots for the U.S. government until 1945. She then worked for the Bureau of Unemployment, while putting herself through Cleveland College at night, majoring in modern languages. She graduated in 1951 with a bachelors degree, and continued her education at Western Reserve University. In 1957, she received her masters degree in modern languages, having majored in Spanish and minored in French, Italian and English. She graduated cum laude and received the Emile de Sauz Award for Excellence in Spanish while doing her graduate work. She then taught French in the Major Work Enrichment Program for the Cleveland City Schools for a period of 27 years. She also taught night classes in Spanish for the Euclid adult education program. She retired from teaching in 1976. She was an active member of the Albanian Club and spent time gardening into her 90s. She also loved poetry and was a lifelong learner. In 2000, she moved to New Marshfield to live with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas M. Rinaldi; her parents; and siblings Angelo, Lillian Paradiso Panetta, Maria Paradiso Kelley and Cinderella Paradiso Wilk. She is survived by her sister, Clare M. Paradiso Bergeron, of Massachusetts, and by her brother, Carl, of Cleveland. She was the beloved mother of Cecilia Rinaldi, adored grandmother of Arianna and Michael Rinaldi-Eichenberg, and dearly loved mother-in-law of Robert Eichenberg.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 6 p.m. at DiCicco & Son Funeral Home, 5975 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Services will be held Monday morning.

WELLSTON -- Harold King Sr., 66, of Wellston, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Vititoe King. He is survived by his ex-wife, Phyllis Queen King; a daughter, Cathy Cline; and sons Harold King Jr. and Donald King.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home, Wellston. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.

Lucille Mulford

Age: 92
CHESHIRE -- Lucille Mulford, 92, of Cheshire, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, in Cheshire.
Born July 6, 1910, in Kyger, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Allison and Flora Jenkins Bradbury. She is survived by a son, Galen Mulford; and daughters, Vivian Grant, Martha Brunson, Carolyn Holland and Sandra Mulford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Fisher Funeral Home, Pomeroy. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery,Cheshire.

Frances D. Uribe
Died: Wednesday, January 29, 2003
Age: 91
ALBANY -- Frances D. Uribe, 91, of Albany, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. She resided with her daughter at 5289 Washington Road, Albany.
Born in Brownsville, Texas, on Oct. 11, 1911, she lived in Dallas, Texas, until she moved to be with her daughter in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Uribe; son, Jesse U. Uribe; mother, Patricia Zurita; and great-grandson, Christopher Bolin.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Jim Bolin; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lana and Bill McClure of Ventura, Calif., Marilyn and Sandy Moorman of Richmond, Va., Jim and Debra Bolin of Cordova, Tenn., Allen and Candy Bolin of Albany, Clayton Bolin of Albany and Calvin Uribe of Columbus; and several great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Uribe was a retired nurses aide and attended Albany Baptist Church. She was an active volunteer at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital for many years and had a smile that made friends with everyone she met.
Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Bert Christian officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alexander Sports Fund.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, to whom she was a precious mother and a loving grandma.
