LOGAN -- Mary Elizabeth Walsh, 84, of Logan, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at her residence.
Born Nov. 20, 1917, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth Barker Wagner. She is survived by her husband, John P. Jack Walsh.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Logan, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m.

Marvin Stover
Died: Thursday, January 31, 2002
CHESHIRE -- Marvin Stover, 54, of Cheshire, died at Mount Carmel West in Columbus on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002.
Born April 17, 1947, in Cheshire, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Leona Devore of Stover.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Stover.
Graveside services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Gravel Hill in Cheshire.
Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home in Middleport.
Agnes Z. Leasure
Died: Wednesday, December 25, 2002
Age: 74
LOGAN -- Agnes Z. Leasure, 74, of Logan, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born May 21, 1928, in New Straitsville.
She is survived by her husband, Howard D. Leasure.
Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Falls Twp., Hocking County.

Donna L. Neal Winefordner
Died: Wednesday, December 25, 2002
Age: 74
THE PLAINS -- Donna L. Neal Winefordner, 74, of The Plains, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, following an extended illness.
Born March 19, 1928, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Waldo and Winnie Cline Neal. She was a 1946 graduate of Hopedale High School in Hopedale. Donna was a dedicated and loving wife of 51 years, a devoted mother to her five sons and a loving grandmother to four grandchildren. Early in life, she was a secretary at Vanadium Tool.
She is survived by her husband, David; sons Don (Terri) Winefordner of Orlando, Fla., Darrell Winefordner of The Plains, Dennis (Nancy) Winefordner of Charleston, W.Va., and Dean (Sharon) Winefordner of Dunbar, W.Va.; grandchildren Karen and Jennifer Winefordner of Gahanna, Daniel and Katelyn Winefordner of Charleston, W.Va.; and a brother, Billy (Fauna) Neal of Nelsonville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dwight; a sister, Mona Beekman; and a brother, Jack Neal.
Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. David Roach. Private graveside services will be held at Athens Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to services, and are welcome to attend the funeral home services.
Robert M. Wieman
Died: Wednesday, December 25, 2002
Age: 82
ATHENS -- Robert M. Wieman, 82, emeritus professor of philosophy at Ohio University, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at Kimes Convalescent Center.
Born in Eagle Rock, Calif., he was the son of Henry Nelson and Anna Wieman. He received degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. He taught at Oklahoma A&M and at Grinnell College in Iowa before coming to OU in 1954. He served as chairman of the department for a number of years and also served as acting dean of University College.
He is survived by his wife, June Wieman; his children, Jane Wieman of Osaka, Japan, Derrith Wieman (Todd Clark) of Houston, Texas, Margaret of Waterloo, Iowa, and Ana Wieman of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Becky Reeve of Washington, D.C.; his stepchildren, Anne Lampela, Jane Palmer, Jay Hostetler, Ilise Woodward, Jan Eldridge, Lora Maher, Gretchen DeLong, Karla Eldridge and Edith Eldridge; his brother, Orr (Alison) of Cornelius, Ore.; sisters Marion Oberlin and Kendra (Huston) Smith of Berkeley; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Florence; and his son, Henry M.
Mr. Wieman's body was donated to the College of Osteopathic Medicine. At his request, there will be no funeral.

Iva J. Kempton Gardner
Died: Tuesday, December 24, 2002
Age: 50
MILLFIELD -- Iva J. Kempton Gardner, 50, of Millfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, in Detroit, Mich.
Born Aug. 20, 1952, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late George and Treva Lantz Kempton. She attended Chauncey-Dover High School. The nurses aide and caregiver attended Poston United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Amos (Karla Kempton) Reardon of Millfield; grandson Ivan Reardon of Millfield; brothers George Kempton of Concord, Foster Kempton of Nelsonville and Jeff Kempton of Athens; several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Regina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Selena Dixon; and brothers Bob, Jack, Jim, Ted and Michael Kempton.
Funeral services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with Pastor Earl James officiating. Burial will be in Glouster Cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
M. Clay Marcum
Died: Tuesday, December 24, 2002

ATHENS -- M. Clay Marcum, 43, of Sandia, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at his home.
Born Feb. 17, 1959, in Athens, he was the son of Marion Birdsong Marcum and the late William Jesse Marcum.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Marcum; a son, William Zackary Marcum; and a daughter, Megan Kay Marcum.
Services will be held Saturday, at 9 a.m., at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel in Sandia, Texas, with Pastor Rick Milby officiating. Burial will be in Sandia Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family in attendance from 6 to 8 p.m.
Alberta L. Wagner

LOGAN -- Alberta L. Wagner, 75, of Logan, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at her residence.
Born June 30, 1927, in Hartford, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lena Theiss Chapman.
She is survived by her husband, William Wagner.
Services were held this morning at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan. Burial was in Letart Falls Cemetery, Meigs County.
Janice S. Burchett
Died: Monday, December 23, 2002
Age: 60
THE PLAINS -- Janice S. Burchett, 60, of West Jefferson, passed away on Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Kobacker House of Columbus.
She was born Aug. 18, 1942, in Barberton, was retired from Ohio State University as a social worker and was a member of Grace Brethren Church and choir.
She is survived by her husband, John R. Burchett of West Jefferson; her mother, Mary Snedden Rowland of The Plains; two daughters, Jamie (Randy) Schimmoeller of Perrysburg, and Jill (Derek) Jacobson of Duluth, Minn.; a sister, Carol Ann (Jack) Wilson of The Plains; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher and Sarah Schimmoeller, Chloe and Maxine Jacobson.
Her father, Fred Rowland, preceded her in death.
Services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Rader-McDonald Funeral Home, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, with Pastor Tim Waggoner and John Burchett officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
